Has anyone...

...been to the Lake District before? I highly recommend it, as you'll have the fun of your life.
Keswich Youth Hostel is brilliant - and the weather is surprisingly good. You really should go..

Yes, I've been to the Lake District on a couple of occasions. First time, a long time ago when I was a wee one. My mother's side of the family all rented out a country cottage type thing. It was rather funny really, my cousin wanted to sleep with the light on and the window open...and in the morning the whole room was filled with crane flies! I was too young to remember, but it sounds hilarious.

The second, next, and last time I went was just a few days ago, in fact. The entire Year 9 at school went to stay at Keswich - a strange coincidence - and we had great fun...walking round a big wet lake and around Hawkshead on Monday, visiting the super Sellafield Visitors Centre and pond dipping/sucking up insects on Tuesday, then hiking up a mountain on Wednesday. It was so fun, I wanted to go home every minute of it.

Beds were nice comfy too. Mr Bateman was his usual harsh self.

"Oh, this room is very small...Hahaha!" *wanders off*

"Haven't you got your waterproof, Max?"
"No, sir, it's in the coach."
"Oh, hahaha, you're going to get wet." *wanders off*

"Close, but not quite the banana."

I've been before, too. Twice as well in fact. First time last year. We went hiking, camping, sailing, obstacle coursing, caving, jumping off a big tower on an arial runway, swinging from huge heights between two trees and orienteering. And obstacle coursing. Some fun, some not.

My family used to go on holiday to the Lake District all the time. Haven't been for a few years, though.
