Through the Great Forest
(OOC: I'll give this a shot)
Hunter yawned and opened his eyes. It was dawn in the Great Forest and it was alive with chatter of animals, songs of birds, and buzzing of insects. Hunter got up and crawled out from under the brush he had been sleping under and shook his body in the manner of a canine. He sniffed the air and immediately started back on the path he had been following with a small bark. The Black Dragon had sent him through the Great Forest on a mission to find out how the inhabitants outside of the Cartel's reach were thriving and to make sure they were fairing well. Hunter always kept straight to schedule and did what the leader of his "pack" told him to do for she always seemed to know what she was doing. He had been in the Forest for a few weeks, always using his keen sense of direction to keep heading in the right direction, even though he wasn't quite sure where he was going. A sudden, familiar shrieking could be heard up in the trees above somewhere, and Hunter froze on the spot. That cry could come from only one thing: Parathons.
They dropped down from the trees to the forest floor and surrounded Hunter. He snarled, showing his fangs and roaring at them. The parathons would back away, but once he stopped his display of power, they would close in again. Finally, a large adult leapt into the air. Hunter reared on his hind legs, brought his left hand up and hit the Parathon before it could reach him. The wounded creature looked up and hissed, and the other responded by attacking. Looking up quickly, Hunter noticed a low-lying branch. He lept up with all his might and caught the limb with his hands and pulled himself up, hoping it would hold his weight. The Parathons squeaked in confusion, trying to figure out where he went. With a powerful thrust of his back legs, he landed on top of the group, crushing some with just his weight, while he snapped the necks of others with a shake of his muscular jaw. The remainder of the group scattered and ran back to the safety of the trees. Hunter watched them for a time, then with a loud howl, he continued on his path.
It was about noon when he came out into a clearing. A path appeared in front of him and he decided to follow it since it had to be made by someone. Keeping his nose in the air, Hunter continued down the path for some time before he stopped dead in his tracks. Ahead of him was a massive, beautiful village surrounded by a great wall. The sign outside the village read "Pyke". Hunter broke into a run and sped towards it. Finally, some civilization! With that he bounded down the path and entered Pyke.
