i just decided to go back to the ezboard foe to look at our history, i never noticed that i was looking for 2 hours! It was so long ago that all those posts were made.
who could forget

there are many more but they mostly concern me, i was wondering how many veterans from the old foes are still here. And are still frequent posters.

I went back and had a look, it certainly brought back a lot of old memories. One thing that I noticed was the the posts were easier to read, probably because they were closer together as well as the lack of large signature graphics getting in the way.

Remember when the forums had the white background and shades of pink for the logo and tables? Then they changed to the shades of blue. Later on we had the honey bee theme, then the Munch and Meep theme, now we have the current theme. The very first design, when Oddworld Forums weren't popular, was shades of bright orange. The graphic was a paramonian wooden support beam with text on it and Abe, a paramite, a scrab and a Slig.

The forums have certainly come a long way since the forum's very humble beginnings.

The other day Sydney posted something about 6 designs for the forums and I could only think of five. I never got around to asking about it. Now I know why I couldn't remember six... as there was one more before I joined (the orange one Sydney mentions)... when I first came it was the pink/white scheme.

I kind of miss some of the old members. Who remembers people like Aqua Sheep (original Oddworld Help Moderator), Mpendwa (writer of some great fan fics), Sista Souljah (creator of Oddworld Yo! and originally called Anglehair) and Sliggy (used to have a Slig fan site). Sydney was Sydney Cander back then (probably because someone already registered Sydney on the ezBoard).

And the old days when Oddworld, Off-topic and Fan Corner were all one. There was only two forums then... General Discussion and Oddworld Help.

Unfortunately my first post isn't there anymore as a (then) moderator decided to delete the introduction threads, much to Sydney's dissapointement if I recall. Although I did find my post announcing that I was starting my own Oddworld site.

Well one thing sure hasn't changed at the old forums. I got greeted by three pop-up ads on arrival!

The forums had a white background and blue table headings and so forth when I joined. I can remember the very first post I made; it was in a topic about which FMVs do people think are the best. I used to have Spyro as my personal pic back then (and I've now come full circle; last month I requested some Spyro personal pics on this board).

I still visit the old forums from time to time, digging up old memories...
There is a very different atmosphere in both the boards, I find; this one is far more cosier, whereas in the old one it never felt close or community-like (but that's just my opinion); I wonder if the colour scheme had anything to do with it. Subliminal psychological effects and all. However, my theory is that the UBB seems cosier because of its 'boxed-in'ness. There are no global UBB accounts; it's local only. And you can only choose a personal pic from a list, and the creator of the board gets to customise what information will be asked for in the registration form. My name change might've had something to do with it as well; I used to be a savage Twisted Firestarter, but now I'm a friendly-sounding Middlesboogie.

Whatever it is, I'm glad the change was made in the long run, but I still enjoy frequenting my old haunt.

Hey Abebabe, don't forget Anime_2day! She's turned up a couple of times here, but never stayed for long, we all miss her... What with her and Grid and Elum not frequently posting, I'm the only RPG Founder still regularly posting...

The forums had a White background when I first joined, and the banner had a picture of Abe along with a Production Pic of a Kinto, and a few other things which I can't quite remember...

I've not even been on the forums a year, and already it seems like forever...

On Anna's point, I think the lack of Ads is what makes the UBB such a cosy place to live... [Yes, I know I used to totally flame the UBB, but I've changed, okay?]

When I was signing on to this new message board, I made my name Glukkon Daniel and put my real name, Daniel Brown, in the slot that said to put your name. I guess I got mixed up or something, because now my screen name is Daniel Brown. My lazy self just kept it that way because it wasn't a huge deal.

I remember the good ol' days... I remember Elum... God, yes, I remember Elum... Elum and his damn emotions always getting him into arguments with me...

I never posted on the Ezboard. I am somewhat unhappy about that, because I don't have memories of an old, long gone time.... But, after a long time, I can tell of this days, to the newbies. As memories to good old days. Who knows who will come and go in the future....

I wasn't there in the olden days of yore *little sniff* But I went back to the very first post by Sydman..... and *Drum roll* I found a link to the old site!!!! I thought it looked exactly the same as the old one here (the one we just changed!) It was brilliant! You talked about things we would never talk about here!!! It's not fair *sob* How come when Oddworldian.net started it was a lot more cooler (No offence Sydman!) and more funny???

What I find strange is that Sydney paid $199 to get a UBB license, when for just $30 a year he could have signed up for Ezboard CSC and kept the old board with no ads!

i rmember the white forums. sure i never posted, but sal told me to go to ODDchat, and there, Elumtold us how to register. i was registered as Mr.Slurg but i wish i had posted more often.
