after this i promise i will keep my mouth shut about the xbox but i have to know why are you buying the Xbox? is it just for MO or many different games? so far none of you seam to believe anything i am saying about xbox so i'm going to warn you one more time that Xbox isn't suposed to make it that big and it will go down in prise in about a year.

The price will drop huh, wow that's new to me.

Listen for $50 or so you will be losing out on tons of great games for it's first year. It's your choice however.

There will be 1 million XBOX's by years end alone. By the end of 2002,you can expect over 3 million in the States alone. Then start adding in Australia, Europe, Asia, South America, and you are looking at about 7 million. And that's only after 1 year.

The games that are coming
are by far better than anything we have seen thus far.You'll all see soon enough.

And that's just in XBOX's first year. Yah it's going to make it, no one in there right mind will think different before too long. And as for this Holiday season my season will allready be better with games like Munch, Halo, Azurik, Fusion Frenzy, DOA 3, F1 racing, Nascar Thunder, Project Gotham, Gun Valkyrie, common now you tell me life is not as good with an XBOX and you show me a foooooooool.

I think Xbox will do good and will have good games... But, in my opinion, Dreamcast had some awesome games and it went down. Although, everything Sega touches goes down with flames.

ok look........ want to know the truth? the only reason i've been bad mouthin Xbox is because i'm not alowed to get one. i'm so jealous. i'm sory if i've been causing problems but being 12 has it's disadvantages. here in canada the Xbox costs $499.99 the controler costs $49.99 and the dvd remote costs $49.99 i don't even make that much money a year with my job and allowance. I want it so bad.........but i have to listen to my stupid parents we don't have very much money so i'm left with buying the cheapest system out there.....a sega genius. talk about lame after christmas i will be able to buy a play station 1 because it only costs $133.97

Hmm...500 Can equals $314.089 US dollars, $14 more than the US version, and a 50 dollar XBOX controller is a really good deal, because in US dollars that's $31.4079, about 8.5 dollars less than the US controllers. I was just curious...
And I realize what your kind of doing. I know a friend of mine got both PS1 and N64 when they were both big...and I thought that having both would almost be a disadvantage, because you wouldn't be able to enjoy either. But don't worry, I don't know about a year, but eventually XBOX's price will go down...so don't feel all left out!

X-BOX will be disliked by everyone, but eventually our game powerhouse will be so strong that most people will buy the system. Heck - we've already got the best lineup possible:

- Halo
- Munch's Oddysee
- Dead or Alive 3

I believe that's a hell of a lot better than Gamecube's kiddy lineup.

tis all up in the air. No one knows for sure how the battle between consoles will turn out, especially since MicroSoft is new to the console industry. Remember when the PS came out, Sony had to fight against both Nintendo and Sega (though Sega was beginning to die even then...I think the PS coming out excellerated Sega's demise(sp)). Now there is a new contender, MicroSoft's X-Box. How will it do? Who knows, though some of the acticles I read said it will have a tough uphill battle, as both Nintendo and Sony are still very strong. (Sony had the advantage I think of Sega's string of failures.) Only time...and the general public...will know.

I'm buying an Xbox for one reason! MUNCH'S ODDYSEE!!! If Munch were exclusive to another system I'd get that. I am like Eibu's signature ... $361.95 for one game!!!

Although I do hope to play some other great games on it also... so in the long run it won't only be for Munch.

Regarding the Xbox failing and going down in cost as a result... firstly I can't see the Xbox failing with the games it has (refer also when Sony were the outsider before bringing out the PSX). Secondly, consoles always drop in price. The PS2 was over $700 when it first came out here in Australia. Now it has dropped to $499 and a friend told me he saw it for $399 the other day.

Although I do see where you're coming from Oddworld Master. When I was a kid/teenager I never could have got an Xbox either. I used to get a measly $2 a week allowance (my parents would buy me some stuff if I wanted it, but not expensive stuff), and for Christmas/Birthday we'd get about $150-$200Au spent on us. I never worked as study took up too much time. We were never up-to-date with consoles. We got our Nintendo when they had been out for a few years, the same with our Super Nintendo.

So if I were a kid now, I doubt I'd be able to get an Xbox... unless I gave up 2 birthday's and 2 Christmases for it. Or unless my brothers wanted to share.

I guess that's where PC games are an advantage, most families have a PC now, so if it's a PC game you don't have to get anything extra to play it.

No, not really. Here are the reasons why I'm not getting the x-box:

1) The PS2 is cheaper. At the moment in the U.K. the PS2 is about two thirds of the x-box price and there's gonna be a price drop in January that'll bring the PS2 asking price to about half of the x-box's. The games are also about £5 cheaper then the x-box's and I think they're losing a fiver in Jan too.

2) Value for money. The X-box has better graphical capablity. However gameplay is most important and since the PS2 is roughly half the price of an x-box and the games are definetley equal to the x-box in terms of amount and gameplay, I think the PS2 has more value for money. Both consoles are bringing out a internet connection at about the same time (PS2 sometime in spring intrestingly near or at the time of the x-box launch, x-box on launch, remember I'm talking about the U.K. here). The PS2 also has a DVD option for free while the x-box one has to be bought sepratley, for a 'small' fee.

3) Games. Both consoles have the same quality and number of games. Don't think that the PS2's games will ALL be worse looking then the x-box's. In fact, nearly all the games I have seen or played for the PS2 have the same graphics as the x-box games. Also the games are cheaper.

These are my reasons. I'm not trying to convert any of you. now, I expect a huge rant from everyone on the Forums for this post. Okay. I probally won't reply for a bit though since I'm off to do something else. (by the way, I'm not dissing the x-box. The x-box is looking great. I'm just saying why I'm not getting it.)

Anyway, like most of you Im getting the X box for MO. But I also want Jet Grind Radio Future when it comes out. (Jet Grind Radio is my fav game OF ALL TIME!!!) But if the X Box couldn't play DVDs I'd be getting a Gamecube,(Zelda, Zelda, Zelda!)even though it doesn't play DVDs either.

Oh, by the way, all you X Box super-ultra fanatics... don't chew me out for praising another system. After all, Im still getting the X Box.

Sorry to nitpick, but the main character is LINK not Zelda. Zelda is the girl Link is always trying to rescue. Now that Im done b!tch!ng, Nintendo is trying to make Link look more "mature" for the gamecube release. So, you shouldn't worry.
