I'm not exactly nutty about iPods myself, but I know they're pretty good at what they do.

It didn't just happen. I'd bet money that when he retired in August, he knew he didn't have long to go.
It vaguely bothers me that everyone credits Jobs for Apple's success. Sure, he was an inspirational leader and pushed for high standards, but much of the success for the iPod and other products must lie with Jonathan Ives and the countless other engineers and programmers who made them work.
But then that might just be the resentful engineer in me saying that.
