I recently have started a fanfiction based on my OC Aro who is scorp that sets out to save her people. I figured that this was one of the best places to post it. Anyways, I shall post the prologue and the first chapter and if I can get people to respond to it then I may continue to post the rest. But if I can't get enough supporters... well then...yeah. So here it is!
Aro's Oddysee
Prologue
I looked around at the cheering crowd as I appeared out of a portal. I had finally done it! I had liberated my people, saved my twin brother, and managed to slightly reform my once best friend. But as soon as he stepped out of the portal everyone had switched from cheering to shouting various things like “Traitor!” and “How dare you return!” Some also shouted that he be put to death. I looked over at him and he shrugged nonchalantly, as if nothing was wrong. I looked back at the angry crowd that soon was becoming more enraged by the second. I stepped in front of him, holding my arms up in an attempt to possibly shield him and my brother had also joined in with the crowd, trying to convince me that this guy was a traitor.
“Please calm down! I know what he has done but he has helped free you all! Give him a second chance!” but my pleas went unheard and everyone continued on with their furious shouts and some started to move towards us.
Unfortunately, this is the homecoming I received after I had just recently liberated and freed my people from the industrialists. I had hoped it would have gone better and that people would just be all like “Well he did help…we should give him a second chance.” I was wrong. Very wrong. I should have seen this coming (then again I don’t have the ability of foresight so I wouldn’t have anyways)…
But I’m getting way ahead of myself. I should probably start from the beginning, seeing as though you have no clue what is going on. Anyways, I am Aro and I am a scorp. Now, best way to describe a scorp is that we have tails with venom filled stingers, bright red scaly skin, horns and walk on two hooves. We have two arms and four appendages or fingers. As for other features, our eyes are a pure black with a crimson pupil and we have hair.
Scorps originally lived on the island of Sunako, which was basically a desert surrounded by water. Sunako was just a little ways off the coast of Mudos, so there were no industrialists and everything was peaceful…for atleast a while. One day; however, the industrialists arrived and started capturing everyone. I even remember my twin brother, Ero, being dragged away. They would have gotten me too if my best friend hadn’t helped sneak me onto a small boat of people evacuating. I had stared at him until he could not been seen anymore. We landed on the coast of Mudos and everyone had gone their separate escape ways. Some traveled in groups and others went solo. I ended up traveling with a group that were moving to western Mudos. The trip was long and hard but as for details, I can’t really remember that much about the trip. But after a few days we made it to a small town, and the next years of my life were peaceful. However, nothing ever stays calm for me. Silly me to expect an easy life! This is were my story begins and tells of my oddysee.
Chapter 1
I frowned as I glanced out the window of my small, wood house. The sun was shinning and the sky was clear, but I had the weirdest feeling about today. I shrugged and quickly grabbed my old bag and headed out the door. I had to hurry to my job. I just hoped to Odd that the day would go without problems or mishaps. I stopped by the small bakery to pick up some scrab cakes for breakfast. I was about to leave but paused as I overheard two customers discussing something about someone sabotaging Rupture Farms.
“It’s all over the news! Some mudokon decided to start causing havoc around the place!”
“Wow…I heard that Rupture Farms would possibly get shut down but I highly doubt that. They’ll probably catch the culprit before anything TOO serious happened.”
I eavesdropped for a few more minutes, munching on my scrab cakes before leaving for work. Seemed weird that one mudokon could start all that fuss. But what did it matter to me? I rolled my eyes mentally as I continued down the road to the small pharmacy and clinic. I entered my workplace, putting on my white sterile coat (being the germophobe I am). Now this small town didn’t have the big industries like factories, labs, and so on. No sligs, glukkons, or any other industrial species ever set foot in here. Most inhabitants were just wanderers and travelers that just happen to stop for food and other necessities but some settled to make a bit of moolah. The clinic was owned and ran by Floyd, who happened to be an old mudokon healer. Pretty weird, huh?
I plopped down in my makeshift office space that consisted of a table, a swivel chair, a large file cabinet, and a small typing machine. Normally the days went by slowly and hardly anyone came in. Those that did come in, came in for minor things. Headaches, stomach problems and other little things.
Time flew by quickly and before I knew it, it was the afternoon. I was in the middle of an old novel that had been lying around, when I suddenly heard a commotion outside. I set my book down and slowly went outside to see what the fuss was. The feeling in the pit of my stomach grew and I knew something was wrong. A crowd had gathered around in the town square and in the middle of the crowd stood a glukkon on a platform, surrounded by a group of sligs and a mysterious hidden figure beside him. He seemed odd. His suit was a bright red, with intricate yellow and orange designs. Instead of smoking he seemed to be chewing something and spitting it out. Frowning, I quietly made my way to the back of the crowd, listening intently.
“Attention all citizens of this town, I have come in hopes of finding…something. I am looking for certain people.” He began and a few of the sligs started passing out posters with a picture on them. They hadn’t gotten far back enough for me to see it though.
“These are known as the scorps. They are con artists and travelers. I am willing to give out a reward for information and the capturing of anyone that may look like this.” The gluk explained vaguely, smirking.
The towns people started chattering and I was finally able to get a peek of the picture. I gasped quietly, my eyes widening.
“I will have a camp set up and anyone that wishes to report anything may do so.” The mysterious figure added and the chattering grew.
I heard a few people muttering things like “I’ve seen some of these pass through here” and “isn’t there one working at that clinic.” All I could do is back up slowly and as quietly as I could, though having hooves made it harder. And to make things worse, I felt a twig snap under one of my hooves loudly. Before I knew it, almost all eyes were on me. The gluk’s smirk grew and I did the one thing that I could think of: I ran. I ran as fast as I could, listening for anything behind me. Soon enough that’s what I heard. Not just a few but lots or atleast a group of ten.
I dodged street carts and what few people were in the street. I was hoping that I could make it to the nearby forest and lose them. Speeding up, I glanced behind me at the group that had now fallen slightly behind. I sighed in relief and was nearing the forest…until I suddenly tripped over a good size rock. I could hear the group behind me getting closer and closer.
So what do you think?
