A Steam group is not a forum where people can post although it does come with a chat room for that group and provides a place for Oddworld fans to congregate while on Steam
My point is, Oddworld recently made AO & AE available on Steam and Steam has a massive 15,000,000+ user base that no other digital distribution platform can compete with at this point. Anyone that looks at my profile or anyone in my friends list will see that I am a member of the official Oddworld group (if there was one that is)
LL said in a recent interview "Valve is doing it right", it seems to me that he likes Valve and he likes Steam, and creating an official Oddworld group would be free for, well, for Oddworld. If I had to guess, I'd say that Wage Wars and the other mystery Hollywood game thing they're working on will also be made available on Steam upon release as well as the next installment in the Oddworld universe. They seem to be getting on the Steam bandwagon already anyway, why not make an official group while they're at it?
Anyway, I am a long-time Oddfan and I just thought it couldn't hurt to get the Oddworld name out there in front of that many eyeballs
free marketing = a good thing
BTW - why is the word Oddworld not excluded from the spell-checker on the Oddworld forums....
