Created Species /Subspecies/ Crossbreeds: Profiles

Hi. Try to test your creative skills by making up a species or subspecies (a named crossbreed would work, too.). I'll post mine.

Species: Ocelli Slig
Movement: Handfeet (please list natural movement)
Feeding: Through mouth shaped like a cat's snout
Habitat: Rainforest
Description: Head is like a cat's. Yellow fur with black rings, which are filled with orange. Long tail with black stripes. Underside is white, from the bottom jaw to tip of tail. Pink nose, green eyes, slitted pupils. Handfeet have retractable claws that, when sheathed, look like normal nails.
Intelligence: sentient
Other: Equal parts male and female. As for population, they live in rainforests. You can figure out the rest.

okay... this race hasn't been in anything yet. they were to be in my fic "Time and the Dance", but i scrapped that fic after only 3 chapters...

Species: Samdokons
Movement: Walking on two feet - Humanoid
Feeding: Normal mouth
Habitat: Habitat? This is an intelligent species, like the Mudokons, Sligs, and Glukkons, it doesn't have a habitat...
Description: Nearly twice the height of a mudokon [about 10-12 feet], grey-green skin. They have No Eyes, and sense instead by a kind of Radar, like bats.. Normal mouth, with a large voice box in the throat to give them the range to emit the constant Ultrasonic Ping that their radar depends on
Intelligence: Sentient, although actual intelligence varies as widely as most sentient creatures...
Other: Their dependence on Radar means that they dislike background noise, which confuses them. Clutter also confuses them, as small details are difficult to detect by radar, and just disrupt the larger signals. As a result of this, Samdokon buildings tend to be very quiet, empty places, and their lack of sight means that their homes are quite visually sparse as well.

[Black Dragon]

Species: Draconar
Movement: Hind legs in a human-gait. Very agile, sprints like a bird/dinosaur when running, very good jumpers/climbers.
Feeding: Sharp dinosaur-like jaws. Hunt like dinosaurs or Native Americans, depends on the prey. Also gatherers.
Description: Human-like body with lizard's head, tail, and feet. Thick fur covers body except for feet, hands, and tail. Large raptor-like (I mean bird of prey when I say raptor) eyes, sharp claws and teeth. Fur color depends on elemnt type, long braids show high status.
Intelligence: Sentinent... sort of dragon/human-like intelligence.
Other: Equal parts male and female. Used to have a royal family ruling, but were killed by Glukkons/Vykkers and species nearly extinct. Live in a sort of Native American fashion and ways of life are similar. Prefer using magic to physical hunting. Very peaceful race. Current largest tribe is the ThunderFang tribe led under Voltian.

I am NOT going to tell where this is from... Ha!

Species: Krucificians
Movement: Just like a normal mud.
Feeding: Normal mud
Habitat: Well, uh... Where ever a mud lives?
Description: They looks just like muds, except from two extra arms on the back and in some rare cases, no feather or brutally changed eyes.
Intelligence: Sometimes more stupid, sometimes more smart than a normal mud
Other: Only a few of them is left, and about half of them is fertile. That means it's trouble for them both find a fertile mate and the breeding. They are excellent as soldiers, due to their high painlevel (or whatever it is called...).

Hm, it couldn't possibly be from your fic, Silver...? (Yes, I do read it, I think I read all of them, I'm just damned hopeless at remembering to reply to any of them. Seems it's a genetic thing here. Fan corner "residents" = unable to reply to fics... )

I got too many hybrids (I've got a whole damn fic about the Hybridisation Labs (need a better name) in the pipeline). *sighs* So I'm not going to list them all here.

Ummm... I'm sorry to nitpick, but a lot of you seem to be using 'sentient' as though it meant the same thing as 'sapient;. Sentient, as far as I'm aware, means alert and aware, whereas sapient (as in Homo sapiens) means intelligent.

Anyway, the main character in my upcoming fic is a crossbreed. Her name is Twisted Firestarter, because it matches her personality.
Species: Haven't decided on a name for the species yet (hardly worth it as there is only one). She's 50% hyaena, 40% human and 10% Glukkon, but her brain is mostly human (about 97%).
Movement: Because of her threefold hybrid nature, Twisted can move on either her feet (like a human), on her hands (like a Glukk) or on all fours (like a hyaena). However, she normally walks on her feet as her brain is mostly human, and so that's the gait she feels most comfortable with.
Feeding: Normal. As in via the gob. Can eat virtually anything.
Habitat: Hmm, doesn't really live in any particular environment. Is a sapient being, so lives in constructed dwellings.
Description: He he, wait until I post the fic! Dark Hood, Dragadon, Teal, Rettick and Black Dragon already know, so don't go spilling the beans, you five!
Intelligence: Sapient
Other: Nowt comes to mind at the mo'.

hmm I always thought 'sentient' meant human-like intelligance...thankie for clearing that up TF!
I have three to post here(Veltronix, Drakkic(Crossbreed), Drakkic(True))...but my brain decided to shut down the moment I decided to right their stats down...oh well I'll try again later...

Sentient: adj Capable of Feeling.

Basically just means self-aware. It is generally accepted [although I disagree] that Humans are the only Sentient species on Earth.

Sapient, I think, means intelligent, as in Mentally able. So a particularly stupid human might be Sentient but not Sapient, whereas a particularly clever Rat might be Sapient but not Sentient, if you see what I mean...

*swoops in happily* Yay! I finally finished the designs for a Mudokon subspecies!

Name: Marri Mudokon
Description: Skin comes in four colors: Red, blue, green, and yellow. Starting at the forehead, ending where the legs begin, and stretching out into a tail is brilliant silver armor plating. Ponytails come in a wide variety of colors. When a Marri Mudokon gets old, the armor loses its luster, becoming a dull gray.
Intelligence: Duh! It's a Mudokon!
Habitat: Inner Necrum (some live in forests)
Movement: Normal Mudokon movement
Other: Equal parts male and female. During winter, they grow fur matching skin color. The armor does not contain hair roots, so fur does not grow there. The skin colors are more than colors, however. Red Marri Mudokons can stand higher temperatures. Blue can swim well, while yellow can survive hurricanes and tornadoes. Green can dig well and can remain buried for 12 hours at a time.

ok finally did some of it..heres my 3 Drakkic types

Species: Drakkic (crossbreed: mix of slig, paramite, and dragon)
Movement: handfeet
Feeding: carnivorous
Habitat: forest and open plains
Description: A Big Bro like body with a slig-like head. Head only has 3 tentacles and is more box-shaped. Teeth are like dragons teeth. Sport a long prehensile tail which is 4 to 6 ft in length. Height ranges from 5 to 10 ft at the shoulder. Some have a row of spines on their necks and/or back. Skin color ranges from greens, browns, white to black, with the spines generally a darker shade of the skin color. Eye's are draconic and silver (well one has yellow eyes and if you don't know who that is you have been living under a rock!)
Intelligence: human like intelligence
Other: Only 13 in existence, 3 females 10 males. Females are smaller then the males. All but one is fertile. Can gallop as fast as a slig in pants. Excellent tree climbers despite their size and swimmers. Nightvision and a keen sense of smell.

Movement: handfeet
Feeding: carnivorous
Habitat: mainly forest
Description: A Big Bro like body with a slig-like head. Head only has 3 tentacles and is more box-shaped. Teeth are like dragons teeth. Sport a long prehensile tail which is 4 to 6 ft in length. Height ranges from 6 to 7 ft at the shoulder. Skin color ranges from yellow to greens, browns, white to black. Eye's are draconic and yellow, save for the royal family whose are gold.
Intelligence: human like intelligence
Other: Equal parts male and female. Females are smaller then males. Live much like the mudokons do. Can gallop as fast as a slig in pants. Excellent tree climbers despite their size and swimmers. Nightvision and a keen sense. Not many left due to the Cartel and thats all I'm saying cause I haven't gotten that far in my fics yet!

Movement: handfeet
Feeding: carnivorous
Habitat: arctic tundra
Description: A Big Bro like body with a slig-like head. Head only has 3 tentacles and is more box-shaped. Teeth are like dragons teeth. Sport a tail which is 1 to 2.5 ft in length. Height ranges from 3 to 4 ft at the shoulder. Skin color ranges from yellow to greens. Eye's are draconic and range from pale yellow to pale orange. Covered with fur that is a mix of white and semi-transparent hairs.
Intelligence: human like intelligence
Other: Equal parts male and female. Live in burrows and small family groups. Females are smaller then males. Mate in the fall and females have one or two pups live birth in the spring. Pups are nursed exculsively until they are one month old. What do know more? Read 'Arctic Tears'...

Well, I have two kind of sub-speiceis. . . One is non-oddoworldian.

They can eat a wide variety of meat, fruit and vegetables.
Habitat:
They are best suited to city or space ship like enviroments. However, they can go litrally anywhere using their technology.
Description:
There are two races: Relack and Hornet.
Both species have antenni, and two very small holes purly for breathing out of in the center of thier faces instead of a nose. The only things different about the two races is thier colors. Relack have black skin with red markings, while Hornet have yellow or orange skin with black markings. The Hornet speices also has exellent night vision, and thier eyes are red and pink in color.

Just like mammal reproduction. Exactly like humans.

Other:
They live on earth in the future, 4952. The result of humans trying to upgrade themselves using genetic engineering. The species now make up most of the earths population.
