Okay, SligStorm had a nice idea, so I decided to do a quiz of my own about Oddworld. Hope you all enjoy this . I dunno if this deserves it's own topic... but I just gave it it's own topic, so puh :P.

Hm, this is better than the last one. But did Necrum really become the harvest station because of Rupture Farm's failure? I played that part over 5 times and never did I hear that. Is during Abe's tactoo placement ceremony in AE? Because I never got to hear that part correctly.

Wee! 90. I can't think why your answer to the number of factories Abe has blown up is right, though.

EDIT: The idea that the Glukkons had to move to Necrum Burial Grounds following the closure of RuptureFarms 1029 was only ever mentioned in promotional literature. Logically, it doesn't quite make sense, as the Weirdos seek Abe's help within a short time after the factory's power shut-down.

I think it makes sense, Necrum is the only other place with enough bones to match the bone output of Rupture Farms.

EDIT: Wow, I suck. I did misread the first question a little too late though, ah well.

The number is *kindof* correct. I was kinda mixing up how to formulate the question. It was three, Rupture Farms, Soulstorm Mining & the brewery. I guess it's kinda vague since RF didn't exactly blew up. Guess thats a little mistake on my side.

As for the Necrum thing, there is a reason it asks why it's became the PRIMARY site. I assumed RF was the primary site for bones before it got closed down, and Necrum already excisting, being the secondary one.

Actully, technically, Abe didn't destory Soul StormMines. He returns to it after his quest, using the lift to get to Feeco Depot and saving his sick buddies. Unless there's time travel included in AE, Abe didn't destory the Mines.

Yea I was actualy doubting about that, because I couldn't remember. I think he actualy shut down the boilers, instead of overpowering them like in Necrum.

Bonewerks didn't blow up either. It just shut down. SoulStorm Brewery was the only factory blowen up by Abe, as I recall.

i dont get it , abe does all the boiler pressure, runs out barely alive with all the rocks crashing above so how come necrum mines didnt explode? wouldnt they still be digging up bones

Does anyone remember that old quiz thread set up by moderators with different teams? We should do that again. Those were some hard questions.

Hows that? The only question that might be a little confusing is how many places Abe blew up. Otherwise it's pretty clear I think.

Necrum Mines blew up plenty. Not only do you see the explosion, but when you return to rescue Abe's Crew you can see all the wreckage in the background. It's a wonder those guys weren't harmed. And I agree Bonewerkz Mill was merely shut down, like RuptureFarms.

Yeah, well done Havoc. Oddworld quizes become progressively harder and harder to do because there's rarely any new injections of canon. What's more, so many more Forumers know more trivia, and certainly have access to it with The Oddworld Library and the Forums' history. I'm increasingly convinced future quizzes would have to rely more on knowledge of interviews, release dates, OWI…

The question as to why Necrum Mines was in operation seems arguable. The correct answer is "because rupture farms shut down", but logically I'd imagine they've been mining long before then, considering the spirits visited Abe right after he shut down Rupture Farms. The time interval may have been less than a few minutes.

Necrum Mines was established for mining bones for the brewery franchise, which was a completely seperate franchise from the meat-packaging one (though Molluck was head CEO of both endeavors). I don't see how the end of Rupture Farms would affect the brew business, except perhaps the shift in management.

Only 1 236 work-related accidents this month! With such high worker safety, RuptureFarms was able to make hefty contributions to SoulStorm Brew. The workers were recycled in peace.

I had to think carefully about the time-interval between shutting down RuptureFarms and being cheered in the Sanctum. After turning off the power, Abe says “There I was in the final hour,” but then we really have no indication of how long he was left in that cell.

Regardless, I don't think they actually made the worker transfer until the place exploded. Molluck had the intention of gassing all the workers, so I assume the decision to actually move them elsewhere instead of have them all bonked was made by an outside source (after Molluck was thrown out of power by Bigface). So I think the time conflict remains. Then again, it's just a game. I can't expect Lorne to cover all angles despite how big his brain is.

No, as per the above discussion. The Slig Barracks, Bonewerkz, FeeCo Depot, Magog Motors, Splinterz… none of these blew up (the FlubCo Fat Fuels Facility was intended to, but since Flub Fuels in the game seems significantly different from many aspects of the original, I think they are two separate factories). Vykkers Labs was blown up by Munch and the Fuzzles. Evenwurst Weenerz Co. wasn't blown up, either.

Yes he did. Notice the messy state of things when you return to the Mines after you've returned from Necrum. Blowing up doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as turning an object into little bits. Rather he imploded all of those places because thats what he did essentially. The Brewery I am not so sure about.
