Idea Stranger has famous ancestors?

Don't read this if you havn't finished the game on it's half...

If you passed the euginius level euginius tells you about this native tribe wich had a guardian steef who was killed by some reason. But when you see the statue just before he's blown it down you'll see it look almost exactly like stranger when he'd taken of his hat.
Could it be stranger has famous ancestors?

It's terribly besides the point and I don't think the storyboardwriters had made it up so far but...

have you completed the game? if not then do so, then things will clear up a bit. You'd need to speak with the grubbs...

There is a reason for this that you will discover upon completing the game.

ehm.... thats weird... It cleared it up for me really. The steefs have been the grubbs guardians untill people started hunting them, and putting their heads on a bunch of walls.
So the grubbs were untouchable during that time, but with no guardian they are doomed. I'd guess Stranger is their new guardians.

"Mythological in spirit and majestic in body, these legendary wild beasts were once revered as guardians of the Mongo River Valley. Privatization of their peacful river habitat caused the steef population to plummet and their value to skyrocket. What was once considered as sacred creature is now a pricey commodity. These days no steef dare show his horns, for it's common knowlagde that a ecounted steef is only head you need to get ahead in Mudos"

Hope that clears things up.

Strangers ancestors were the grubbs guardians, simple as.
Stranger looks like the other Steef because they have limited facial differences - (at least while still young and w/o horns) one would assume.

Sekto, or as Ugine says 'The Octigi' came and 'Kills' their Steef then a damn gets built.
Sekto did not kill their Steef, Sekto used him as life, this Steef protected them, that's why they had a staue built of him, in memory of him, like Stranger will probably have one too. Mayeb the reason they look so alike is because Stranger has no horns, and the Old Steef has no horns.
They Old Steef probably has no horns because either Sekto sore them off to stick on his wall, or the Grubs sore them off to make that Helmet that Stranger, besides, most Elepants look the same, but their not all related. I'm sure it's because they're the same species.

The Olden Steef is not the one of the statue.
All steef were guardians of the grubbs, not just the Olden Steef, and the statue is just of a steef - most likely not a specific one.
The Olden Steef did have horns until Sekto sawed them off. You can still see the stumps!

Was it Sekto or was it the Grubs that swore them off to make that helmet that Stranger wears?

The grubbs made the helmet, but sekto also lukse to sore off steefs horns but that's more meant for trophies than armor...

We can assume that the helmet is used by young steefs as yet without their horns, because a fully grown horned steef obviously wouldn't need it.

Well, it's ancient Steef armour. One would suspect it's to be used by Steef.

You guyses are smart.

So, I just finished the game, the helmet has either real or fake horns? I don't get it just yet. Another question, is Stranger the last steef? That's so sad, if he is...

No, I think he's not the last Steef, becuase we had that with Munch, the last Gabbit of whole of oddworld. I think the horns on the helmey are not his, you know what I mean.

Well, Munch also had the goal of getting Gabbit Eggs. I saw no way that there is/was a goal to find a steef. I think he [stranger] was pretty much oblivious to the fact that Setko was using the Olden Steef as 'life-support.' Until the end, of course.

Sekto is not a steef. He is a oktigi, a parisitic creature. Sekto was using a steef as a host. The Olden Steef was not doing it willingly, though he was aware of the situation.

With the horns on the helmet, I assume they belonged to a deceased steef, who before dying had permitted the Grubbs to remove his horns after his death.

Sekto isn't a Gloktogi, he's an Oktogi. Gloktogi are the big, squid-like pets of his.

What i meant was since he was using the STEEF as 'life support' he could be assumed as a steef.
