Who Still Likes The Old OW Games Over Stranger

Who still likes AO AE MO over stranger. Im not a fan of first person shoters or any shoter game. I liked oddworld for its puzzles, enviorment and just the way AO and AE was so stanger just seems kind of a let down. No I haven't played it yet but I plan to and i'm not going to say anything about until I do. I just think that they should have stayed with the game play AO and AE had.

The thing is, they are very different.

The other thing for me, is that I aren't generally a fan of first person shooters. In fact I generally run in the other direction when I see one. I don't care for Halo or games like that. So when I first heard that Stranger was going to be first person, I really didn't know what to think. But it proved me wrong. Unlike many other FPS games, I found the controls to be easy to use and I was able to pick up on them [although have some difficulties sometimes as that is just me]. But the thing with Stranger that I loved, is that you are not forced to play in FP mode all of the time. Sure, there are some parts where you have to, but for many parts of the game I was able to run around in third person mode which suited me well.

So I guess generally, I don't compare the two lots of games. I loved the original games [and still do], but I also like the new direction as well. So I really can't say that I had any kind of dissapointment. For me it was more of an unexpected change that ended up to be a good one.

My advice to you is to give it a go. Don't judge it just because you think it's a FPS. As I said, I didn't like such games either, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I like SW, AO, AE and MO all the same, fact is, They all are Da BOMB! :P

Like Abe Babe, I'm not a fan of FPS games, so I didn't prepare myself for anything mindblowing with Stranger's Wrath. But, I can honestly say, that Stranger's Wrath is a fantastic game. I'm actually enjoying trying to capture outlaws and bounties alive. I find it so amusing and rewarding just to know you didn't resort to murder, as is the case with other FPSs.

However, that being said, I suppose if you want to enjoy the game properly, you have to take yourself out of the AO / AE mindset, and treat SW as a seperate game. It isn't like previous Oddworld installments, and that was Oddworld Inhabitants' intention. It doesn't make it any less of game

I acually love playing FPS (Half Life 2 one of the best game ever, also the 2 Metriod Prime games), Oddworld:Stanger Wrath is FPS in a new Oddworld odd dirction(a good way), as it was more to do with sneaking and luring each enemy at a time, instead of charging in.Lets not also forget you do have the option ot not kill the bounty(quarma just like in the old Oddworld game).

Stranger his not like the other main charcter, as his not a one man army, he does not have the power to carry all those fancy guns other FPS guys have(also like the old Oddworld game).

Yeah I still loved those 2D games, but the one truth is that 2D are deemed to be inferior to the 3D ( ) games.
It sucks I know, who knows new Oddworld game on the Nintendo DS or the PSP in 2D (handheld considered inferior to home console )

I love first-person shooters more then any other genre, so I guess it's pretty obvious what I think. The old games are great, but they can get pretty repetitive after playing for a while.
