Happy What's the worst/best movie ever done?

What's the worst movie that has ever been made at all, through all times. I think that was right...anyway, the worst movie I have ever seen was a sci-fi/action movie called "Reptiliton". It was about a lizard bigger then Godzilla and stronger then King Kong. This lizard was controlled by aliens, who waited 1000 years to destroy the earth, which a old man knew, coz, he read it on a stone, that the aliens left in a cave.

The best movie I've seen.. it's hard, I really don't know! But I think it's "A Clockwork Orange"

I think that the movie that has officially lost the most money was The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, though it may have since been beaten by The Avengers. Both movies have Uma Thurman. Read into this what you will.

The worst movie I have ever seen is (goes to imdb to find out the title) [B]MVP: Most Valuable Primate[\B]. Amazingly the plot manages to be worse than that title.

Its about a monkey from a research facility that can speak with sign language. He's about to be sent to the pharmaceutical testing department so his guard helps him escape and puts him on a train from LA to somewhere in the North of California - he's supposed to be smart enough to work out when to get off. Unfortunately he falls asleep and manages to remain so until he hits - wait for it - CANADA! He gets off at a small town, but manages to find the only little deaf girl in town so they can communicate. One day he follows her brother to ice-hockey practice, puts on some skates and starts playing. And because of Mr Monkey, they win the premiership. A feel-good movie for all. Except people who possess a brain.

You may ask why I sat through the whole thing. I was on a plane. I was bored.

The best movie I've seen is probably American Beauty.

"A Clockwork Orange" is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I can't really say that it's the best movie "ever," as I obviously haven't seen every movie in the world, although many people out there do consider ACO the best movie ever made.

So I'm basically going with "A Clockwork Orange," closely followed by "Pulp Fiction" and "Citizen Kane."

The worst movie ever made is "Plan Nine from Outer Space." End of story.

The worst movie I've ever seen is "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians". It's just awful. Upon mentioning this to my friend, he has informed me that:
:
The worst movie ever made is "Plan Nine from Outer Space." End of story.
and that it was made by the same guy.
Boy, I bet his career was a huge success.

I don't have a clue what the best movie would be. I don't think like that. I think about how much I liked a movie, not how good it was.

I think the best movies are: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs,The Village, Crossroads (NOT the one with Britney Spears) and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.

Worst for me are: Crossroads (The one with Britney Spears), any movie with Jennifer Lopez ('cept Anaconda, that was kinda fun), and Volcano.

Let's see, I think for best it's a tie between The Mothman Prophecies, Magnolia, and The Royal Tenenbaums (not in any particular order). All incredible movies. All three were fairly depressing, but ended on a good note. I like movies like that. It takes a talented director to make a whole movie depressing, then end it and have the viewers feeling satisfied, without using some sort of crappy deus ex machina ending. Magnolia and TRT had great soundtracks too.

For worst, I would have to say . . . I'll get back to you on that. I make a point of NOT watching bad movies.

Yep, Ed Wood. Some people debate to this day whether or not his movies were genuinely "bad."

I mean, it seems like you would have to try your hardest to make so many shitty movies... makes you wonder.

Worst? To be honest, I don't remember seeing a bad film. I usually squeeze all of its artistic merit out of it in order to enjoy it, rather than spend an hour plus watching something dreadful. Either that, or I leave too early in the film to remember any of it

Best? Every movie I've seen to date really. I don't particularly have a favourite, so I'll just recount the last few movies I've seen: The Incredibles, Spongebob Squarepants, and Meet the Fockers.

Alcar...

If I may suggest another direction that this thread could go in; tell us the worst 'good movie that you've seen. Or, to put it another way, what's the worst movie that you've seen that most people liked?

I'd have to say Shakespeare in Love. It was tacky, schmaltzy, corny, had a terrible script, lots of overacting and WAS WAY TOO LONG! And yet it won the Oscar for best film. Tanj!

Speaking of Ed Wood, Tim Burton made a film about him; Johnny Depp played the role of Ed Wood. The movie was pretty boring as I recall, but okay.

I don't really have one single movie that I think is the best ever, mainly because of the variety of catagories and stuff. Most of my favorite movies make me sound too... trendy. Or something, like A Nightmare Before Christmas and Pirates of the Caribbean. To be honest, I don't think I'll ever grow out of my silly love for Disney movies, like the Little Mermaid. Same goes for my love of most of Tim Burton's films. Big Fish is worth mentioning... and um.. yep. Ooh, one of my favorite old films is All Quiet on the Western Front.

The number of worst movies ever is perhaps even longer. The only two I can think of saying right now are Josie and the Pussycats and probably the first Scary Movie, the only one I've ever seen or will see. I remember watching it when I was in middle school and giggling at things with my friends when truthfully, we probably had no idea of what was going on.

In answer to your question, Nate: Alien versus Predator. It should come as no surprise that people freaked out about that movie. "Aliens fighting Predators? Best movie ever!" I saw it and liked it for it's cool action. But a good action movie is NOT a good movie! My friends have horrible taste. Or maybe my taste is just inordinately good. Probably the latter.

Ambi, the third Scary Movie is worth watching. I was laughing nonstop at its bad gags and topical humor. Who says stupid movies can't be funny?

Ooh, Big Fish. I'm tempted to bump Mothman out of there and slot in Big Fish, but it doesn't quite make it. In the end I'm a science-fiction fan.

I've never seen 'Catwomen' though i had the chance to recently when my uncle rented it [i didn't want to, 'cos i was so disgusted by many-a-fact which shall be listed now]. The reason being -

A) The outfit.
B) The name change [Patience].
C) The studio's decision to say "No, don't change the name. Just ruin a whole franchise of amazingness!"
D) Halle Berry saying she'd rather do a 'Catwomen 2' than a 'X-men 3'.

Catwoman from 'Batman Forever' was 'kin amazing! Sleek, black, anti-hero with an amazing outfit. So many good films could've been made for that now that the Batman franchise is being re-done *Crosses fingers it's done properly*

But no. Now they can't even use the 'Catwoman' name, 'cos it's tied into that SILLY, SILLY film. Ugh.

EDIT: And the 'Resident Evil' films! They irritate me highly. Why not stick to the storyline? Why screw everything up?

It was written by the same guy who directed 'Alien Versus Predator', which is why i was worried in the first place. What he should've done is -
'Resident Evil: Volume Chris Redfield' [crap title, i know, but it's a spare of the moment thing] this would be more or less the same story as the second one 'Volume Jill Valentine'. But the two stories would interlope, Chris following Wesker and Jill following Barry [of course, if the film was released Jill's would be released first, so everybody suspects Barry].

Then after those two have finished 'Resident Evil: Volume Claire Redfield' and 'Volume Leon Kennedy'. Then, after that 'Resident Evil: Volume Nemesis'. And so on and so forth, until we get to the last one in the series. Of course, all of these will have a few extra characters, all of them having the same one character in each one, maybe for a brief moment. Maybe in the background. Maybe as a main character. But, that all gets tied up in the final film 'Resident Evil: Volume Umbrella'. Which see's the mystery character's initial journey throughout the films, and motives etc.

I quite liked Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Sienna Guillory, the actress who plays Jill Valentine, makes me drool. DROOL, I tell you.

But in all seriousness, yeah, those movies suck. I place them with Alien versus Predator (maybe a bit below, 'cause the action in AvP was a lot better).

Not that I wasn't being serious about Sienna Guillory. Just the me liking the movie part. Sienna Guillory does, in all seriousness, make me drool. Although not literally, actually, only in a figurative sense. Well, you know what I mean.

Catwoman . . . ugh. What a god-awful (looking) movie. I never saw it, for the sake of preserving the last shreds of my sanity. Halle Berry can actually be a decent actress when she so chooses. Why the hell did she do Catwoman?

How could I forget? Money makes the world go 'round.

Yep, Godsend was pretty awful.

Cabin Fever? As in the horny teen movie about a flesh-eating disease? You're joking, right?

Starship Troopers I enjoyed somewhat for its goriness, its sci-fi thrill value, and the fact that it was largely sattirical.

Pulp Fiction rocked, and Garden State I have yet to see.

Garden State is pretty good. Starship Troopers I enjoy for comedic value. It's so bad it's good. Kill Bill is pretty sweet, so is LOTR of course.
I also liked Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. That's a great moive.

Ok, did I miss something from this movie? Seriously. So many people that I know and a lot of my friends love this movie but I think it's quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever seen. There's not even a plot. Uma Thurman walks around and kills people. Maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to see the glory?

I've probably enjoyed the LOTR series the most of all movies. Other good ones are: Million Dollar Baby, The Matrix, Signs, and The Sixth Sense, just to name a few. I should just pull out my wallet and look at all of the movie stubs that I have.

Kill Bill was basically just a highly stylized gore-fest. But it's the style that makes it good. Besides, it's Quentin Tarantino. What's not to love?

Thats probably why Peter Jackson printed his name all over the trailers with 'his quotes'. Personally, I think every bit of press, either written or verbally presented, has been by his slave midgit, or other slaves (Aka, all of Weta Digital and Weta FX). And what happens when ol' PJ whizzes in the bucket fountain? He brainwashes poor Frodo thinking HE done it. Poor, poor Frodo.

Oh yeah, I forgot two on the list of fav/worst movies...

Another Best: Eternal Sunlight of a Spotless Mind.

WORST EVER: Chronicles of Riddick. Never, NEVER have I seen such a display of poor tatse and decency. Watching through an hour of it, just kills you. Its so god-damn horrible.
