I was going to do a ton of those smilies, but really didn't have time. If the demand keeps up then I'll make a sarcastic fella for you.

Ooh, neatness. I especially like the one giving a crazed Tim Burtonish, Skeleton Jack meets The Grinch lunatic grin. The way its eyes are different sizes adds to the effect. And the greyness.

Never fear oddguy, they ARE going to be implemented!

Abe Babe said that she was going to use them, but couldn't because I left, and she wasn't sure whether I'd be ok with it or not. However she now has my permission to use them and stuffs.

Thing is, the ones that I posted were not of a good file quality, so I had to make another jpeg from the bitmap original, but set the quality to maximum. Now it's nice and clear and all the colors have stayed the way they should.

Awesome Death!

I've altered them to have a transparent background so that they can work on all skins, but I'll let you review and make sure they are still fine with you.

I was thinking of replacing the default smilies with these ones instead ... so we'll have smilie structure something like this [when you click on the More link] ...

Oddworld Smilies
Forum Smilies [these will be Death's ones]
Other Smilies [for generic and funny ones ~ perhaps we can add more]

I'd like to remove the default vBulletin ones, but the only ones we are missing from Death's ones are sad, mad and embarrassed. I can probably make them by altering one of Death's, but I'll see what he wants to do first.

I like the sound of it so far. I think those certainly go better with the industrial theme.

I think the second ones you posted look better. Use those. If you want to add more to the "generic/funny" range, I've got a ton you can use that really kick ass. I'll post those later.

Also, I'll make a note of doing the sad, embarrassed and mad ones. I'll probably do a few other useful expressions while I'm at it. Meanwhile, feel free to implement those ones you have there.

They have now been implimented, so everyone should now see these smilies replacing the standard vBulletin ones.

If you could find some "funny" smilies for us to use, that would be great. I think Oddguy also has some smilies as well. The only thing I want to make sure is that we don't use any "oversized" smilies. If anyone has ever seen a forum where the "jaw drop" smilie is in use, you'll notice that it really makes the text look untidy.

Yes Abe Babe I know exactly what you mean!!! Even smaller smilies that are still not the standard (or at least consistent across the board) can skew the line spacing all up!!! Makes post reading really difficult!

If anyone is interested, I make the gray ones in ms paint. I find it's the simplest way to do them. Each pixel is put in by hand. All the anti-aliasing is done by me.

First I just make a simple line drawing, then I tweak that a bit, and once I'm happy with how it works, I give it color. Then I zoom in, and using the pencil tool, I simply shade and anti-alias the lines so it all smooths out.

At some point I will update the slightly older ones, so they look as good as the newer ones:

Alot of the finished live ammo gifs are on my old server which has recently s'ploded. Once I remove the hardrive I could probly reconnect it and find them back. Until then I'll just work on some more.
