:
- The dream is far too big; there aren't ever enough players on to warrant such a large space with so many redundant rooms.
- A lot of the rooms are too big. One which comes to mind is the canteen, which is enormous. The table closest to the bar is the only one ever used and the room can be reduced in size by about three quarters. (This is the same for many rooms, including the unfinished mudokon sleeping cages, the room of infinite boxes, etc etc etc..)
|
I haven't had this complaint from anyone, and in my opinion, it's still too small. ;p I measure a room's size according to how many areas there are where one can sit and not hear a person across the room. This is to allow groups of people to roleplay in the same room without disturbing each other. Again, the Mudokon sleeping quarters are located at the corner of the map, so making them smaller wouldn't free up much space for other rooms.
:
- The meat storage room with the door to the outdoors is an eyesore and unpleasant to go into. I would remove the weird metal bars/grid stuff hanging in the air and possibly cut down on the scrab meat and barrels to make it less busy.
|
The meat room is designed to look disorganized, disgusting-- a 'hell' you don't want to spend a lot of time in. At the same time, all of the mess around provides for hiding spots. =)
:
- The automatic slig snore sound is annoying and should be removed. If I am in the same area as a 'sleeping' slig I have to mute sounds to stay sane, and so I miss any gamespeak
|
How long have you been hanging around the dream? I have this complaint myself...
("This snoring sound is unbelievably annoying!") I'm still deciding what to do with it, hence the incomplete DS that causes the red pillows to appear. It's still at the front of my mind, so no worries! For now, standing on an object (such as a light, a barrel, or a black pillow) will keep you from snoring.
:
- Playing as anything other than a slig is liable to get you shot annoyingly often. Especially if you're a mudokon, as people will randomly decide to start 'roleplaying' in the middle of a conversation, which means all the sligs (9 out of 10 players) will start shooting mudokons. Having a couple more safe zones might help this, or an option to make yourself immune to bullets.
|
You can bet your boots this will be changed before the final release. Remember that the dream is still in a heavy construction stage. At one point, I removed the shooting DS because I considered it spammy but the majority ruled that it was boring without it. For now, since it provides for the funnest thing to do at a construction site, it will remain the way it is, but I do plan to make the entire entrance room a safe area next upload.
:
- It might be worth changing the gamespeak buttons from numbers into words. So instead of pressing the '1' button to say "hello", you'd press the 'hello' button.
|
This is a nice suggestion, but there's a reason for all the small oddities in the dream. For one, the number of DragonSpeak (customized) buttons we can use is limited. In order for 'hello' etc buttons to be used, I would need to have a set for each species (and there are more to come.) Also, I don't think all of the phrases would fit in one tab as nicely as the 1-12 would and it's still a squeeze.
:
- The mudokon stats detailing stamina and amount of times scrubbed comes up all the time when 'following' one, which is annoying. Especially as I don't understand what bearing stamina has on anything, or for what reason we'd want to know how many times they've scrubbed the floor...
|
Thanks for letting me know that this happens; I had no clue and I'll work on fixing it next time I get. ^^ A Mudokon's stamina is meant to go down as it scrubs, rise when it rests, and drop sharply when it is beaten, although I haven't tested that extensively. You might care more about how many times you've scrubbed when you're overseeing them.
Thanks again for the suggestions guys, keep 'em comin'! For now at best I can tell you what's possible and what isn't. I've gotta go to school now, bye!
