Well that's all fine and dandy but in all honesty with Lorne stating that he's going over to the UK to wrap up NnT with JAW, and the game basically being completed and almost ready to ship.. where's the advertising campaigns, etc?
I realize that JAW is a much smaller company but still, if much smaller games like Volgarr the Viking can get ads on Adult Swim and hell even television in general, then why can't New 'N Tasty?

Budget perhaps?

And let's be fair, New N Tasty hasn't gone un noticed on the internet has it?

Even Oddworld is general hasn't gone unnoticed with games coming out on Steam and PS3. So I don't think an advertising campaign is really needed, it's already has enough coverage on various gaming websites.

Just because Lorne’s coming in to wrap up with JAW doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot more work to do. In the Gameinformer interview Gilray said the art was “99% done”, which means there’s probably still plenty of work do on the engine, code, testing, platform QA, etc.

I think it's safe to assume that they're near the end of production, otherwise it'd be very unwise of Lorne to post a status like that, exciting so many fans.

Come on, it's not like Oddworld is known for jumping the gun, is it?

JAW/OWI have a definite social media presence and a strong fanbase. They're not going to release this without any kind of buildup. Frankly, Stewart Gilray doing interviews with Game Informer is their advertising campaign, or at least part of it.

I doubt JAW/OWI would see it as beneficial to pay for TV advertising, but even if they did they'd wait until the week the game came out. There'd be no point putting ads on air now when they don't even know when the release date is yet.

With all the methane floating around (why else would you think Mudokon Sacred Grounds are so green?) a simple explosion might cause a chain reaction killing everyone including Abe

Just caught Oddworld.com with a new post, I took a quick screenshot of the webpage just incase they'd prematurely leaked the screenshots + gameplay trailer. The gameplay trailer is 'private' on YouTube, and I took the screengrab on my uncle's iPad, so I don't have access to it now that I've returned home otherwise, I'd have posted it here for you guys to see.

Screenshots include a close-ish view of Abe rolling past some meat grinders, which looks very nice, very realistic looking .

Another shows Abe leading the way with 4 mudokons following past a sleeping slig. There's a big bright green graffiti tag on the wall above the slig reading 'SLIG' indicating to the player there is a sleeping slig there.

There's the swinging boulders again, with Abe in mid-jump across one of the chasms. Looks nice, I think it has more asmospheric effects than the first we saw, more specifically, iirc, the chasms had green toxic-looking gas in them. I think it's just visual, I expect Abe will still fall to his death rather than being gassed.

There's a shot of 3 or 4 sligs running along the platform past a typical Abe scoreboad showing 99 employees, so I guess, considering also the camera angle, this is going to be the first cutscene-to-gameplay transition in the game as you begin your escape from rupturefarms.

A screenshot of stockyard escape. Not keen on this one, it looks a bit empty and bland. And there's a shot of the end of Scrabanian nests with the huge religiousy sculpture including bigface's mask.

There's a couple other new shots, but I can't recall them, except I know one of the features Abe's head close up looking to the side somewhere

Has it been different than composing for Munch’s Oddysee or Stranger’s Wrath? What kind of software and technology are you working with?

I’ve taken a different approach with this game mainly because it’s a sort of reboot of the original Abe’s Oddysee game but with today’s tech. The core game is still there in “New N Tasty” and along with that, much of the original music from that game. For the gameplay music itself, I did contribute to that, but it was mostly to create transitions for the original soundtrack.

My primary focus has been on cutscene work since new movies have been created along with re-timings and adds to the old movies.
The one issue that came up on this production is that most of the original music for the original Abe’s Oddysee cutscenes no longer exists in source form. The place it exists is in the mix with the [sound effects] and voice. There’s no way to separate this material once it’s been mixed together. This becomes a problem once movies are re-timed and new scenes are added.

So, what I’ve been doing is creating new music and then, in scenes where I’m able, fusing it with the original soundtrack when it is salvageable.
... New 'n' Tasty's soundtrack will be fundamentally identical to Oddysee's. Not that this is any kind of remake, of course...
