to bring an end to this forsaken war we should nuke the terrorist which I think we should.
|
And where may I ask, are these terrorists you speak of, do they have their own country? If that were true, then you would have a logical arguement. A nuclear bomb creates massive devistation, we cannot just bomb an entire country full of innocent people to get rid of a few who want to kill us. The long term effects this would have on the environment is reason enough not resort to such reckless means. We need to stop thinking about the fast, yet unlasting security we might be afforded for a few decades, and think forward to what consequences that action may hold for future generations.
:
Heck it brought an end to WWII. Its just nowadays everyone has to be politically correct that I am honestly liveing in a twilight zone. Whatever happen to the principals of a just world and if it means to defend from evil then so be it.
|
It worked in WWII, because we had a real enemy that was organzied and governed by the rules of war. There were powerful leaders behind those decisions. Terrorists on the other hand could be pretty much anybody who attempts to create terror. You should really think about that statement, as if you were one of the many innocent civilians in Iraq. Would you be willing to sacrafice your life to get rid of those terrorists? Yeah, let's just go into every country with terrorists and bomb them. We would kill more innocent people then the terrorists could ever dream of. Millions of new terrorists would then be created in the process, fueling so much American hatred, it would only be a matter of time until we piss the wrong people off.
:
Why do people have to think about the terrorist? They give us harm and we go and defend ourselves from them but yet we question our action against evil. Its as if we are letting the terrorist get away with murder.
|
It's not that easy, you can't just destroy the terrorists, you need to find out who is a terrorist, and who isn't. They don't wear name tags. When we do find and capture these people, they are taken care of, we aren't letting them go.
:
I hate people who question our actions because they know that they are afraid and they don't want to loose more life. But it is justified to defend ourselves because the principals of freedom justify it.
|
They question the actions taken by the Bush administration because, much like the war on drugs, this is a war we cannot win. You can drop all the bombs you want, but you cannot destroy what other's believe. There will always be another person in the world who wants to spread terror.
:
Sure I don't want people to loose their lives defending but its a sacrifice.
|
Soldiers are losing their lives to defend us? Nobody in Iraq has the capability to harm us over here in America from Iraq, except us. What we can do, is ensure that our Homeland Security is strong, so we'll have protection against those who try to enter the country to do harm.
:
I seldom visit these forums because I sense that most people on these boards have lost their principal of what is right and wrong. That is why I stay away from here and there was a time on here that we never destroyed one person because of what he or she said. Its an opinion and it should only remain an opinion.

Your original statement was a foolish one, and Esus rightly called you on it. You need to understand that people are not losing their principals, they merely have a better understanding of how the world works, things are not as one demensional as you have been told to think, there are subtleties to every situation.
