Given what you do, I can mourn the loss of that; I never really thought of it one way or another...... and I didn't even know it was gone nor thought to even check.
You're a much more dedicated fan than I ever was anyway; the only thing I really had on my side back then was
circumstances.
I suppose that the 'degree' of remembrance of the events is proportional to the 'degree' in which we were all 'personally' involved. In all that happened, there were
far too many personal matters wound up in what should have been and was always intended to be good clean, impartial fun.
Then politics happen.
Then people get involved personally. That should have never happened. Ever. Politics happen regardless but things get taken a little too seriously with personal involvement. It led to the steady decline and discontent of those involved, which to the impartial observers appeared to be sheer madness!
Anyway, its those sharp edges that tend to stick out and make the whole thing vividly memorable for me.
