Has anyone seen Cockney's Vs Zombies? What did you think of it? I didn't really like it, the acting was terrible. Brick from Snatch is in it though.

Coincidentally, I picked this up today in a cex store, with some trippy holographic front cover, and thought the same about brick top from snatch. Happy to say I didn't purchase this title.

On another note, I've not long just finished watching the Ghost in the Shell stand alone complex, the laughing man, the individual eleven, and solid state society.

I just saw Kingsman. Some of the gore was a bit unnecessary, which is only to be expected from a Matthew Vaughn film, but otherwise it was great. It prompted a vigorous discussion of 'Which guy would you do?' with my companion afterwards.

Holy fuck. Not gonna lie, I shed a tear. Maybe two. Three at the most.

Watch this show, people!

One episode of Breaking Bad left asdhgaslkjdhkasjlhdkadlahsdkjh. I kept not believing my friend when he said that the show ramped up more from the end of the third season, but holy shit it delivered. I'm still not sure if it can top the end of season 4 but I'm keen to find out.

Holy shit that ending was so emotional. I cried even though I hated Walt so much. Seriously just everything about those last few episodes wrapping everything up were fantastic. I'm surprised that it didn't end with Jesse killing Walt, but holy shit I wouldn't change a single thing.

Holy shit.

Yeah, Better Call Saul is fantastic so far. Not quite Breaking Bad level yet, but it could very well get there.

Reminds me I need to rewatch BB's final season.

I wasn't able to dig breaking bad after 2 seasons. I don't know why it just wasn't something I was getting into. However, Better Call Saul I am really getting into and enjoying.

Probably. Yeah. I hold those first two seasons in a special place in my heart, though. Watched them at the perfect time in my life and it was my first experience with a TV series where every episode leaves you gasping for more. It was magic. Before that I only watched self-contained sitcoms and cartoons, and the realization that serial dramas can be really fucking good made me grow attachment really quickly.

So as of now I like 'em better. Objectively though I guess there was a bit of a rough beginning. But to my straight outta high school (and perpetually high) little mind, it was perfection.

Such as? The only thing that immediately comes to mind is the "methbomb" scene at Tuco's. And it was so well executed that I don't even mind its ridiculousness.

The plane crash is a bit out there. But my problem, so far, with Better Call Saul was the first two episodes feeling far too in Breaking Bad's shadow. The latest episode, despite it's fantastic ending monologue, also didn't feel right to me. Like the pacing felt off or the scenes themselves weren't particularly interesting.

I think episodes 3-5 have been the strongest. And I really love those Slippin' Jimmy flashbacks.

Funnily enough, I was reflecting on how different the first 2 seasons were as I was getting closer to the end and there were some flashback scenes. The plane is the worst offender for disbelief, but it's still in the shadow of that crazy scene where Jane dies so at the time it all just kind of buzzed by. Bombing Tuco was less extreme and important for character blah blah.

I feel like if I rewatched the entire show enough I could find problems with the way the story unfolds - something just feels kind of wrong about it at times that I can't put my finger on. Either way, it's the best emotional journey any show has ever taken me on by a long way.

The only really obvious story hiccup is the beginning of Season 2 where Tuco accidentally kills his own guy. It just very obviously feels like the show goes in a different direction than originally intended since the same scene closes Season 1.

In reality it was because the Writer's Strike cut Season 1 two episodes short and Raymond Cruz chose not to become a regular for Season 2 - partly because the role was so demanding.

EDIT: And perhaps they should have had a scene with Gale giving Walt the Walt Whitman book. But whatevs, eh?

Definitely, the Tuco explosion was the biggest offender. I also found the twins extremely irritating. There were a few other small choices that contributed to the issues I had, but yeah, the Tuco explosion was the big problem. Coincidentally, that was the first scene I ever saw of the show. Not the first episode. The first scene.

Well, I mean the twins were in Season 3. Also, Mythbusters did an episode on Breaking Bad (including the Tuco explosion) - it was pretty interesting.

My only problem with Breaking Bad is that the first half of Season 5 really needed more episodes. There were a few plot elements, arcs, and characters that were rushed or overlooked because they had to squeeze things into 8 episodes.
