It makes most sense if you read 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 7th, 5th, 3rd and finally 1st frameWHAT KIND OF FUCKED PATTERN IS THAT?! (and of course read the bubbles on the right of frame first)

IS that Azumanga Daioh? I guess it is, cuz it looks exactly the fucking same as the show. I had some friends in high school who, despite being pretty popular and normal were batshit bananas obsessed with Azumanga Daioh. I couldn't have given a shit because I was too busy being green.

Oh, I didn't realise that was an arrow. Well, I guess I retract my third point and replace it with:
(c) An arrow after the comic means I won't see it until after I've attempted to read it.

Firstly, without even bringing cultural differences into it, the comic is arranged in blocks of four panels. You read one block then move on to the next. So it's always going to be 1-3-5-7-2-4-6-8 or the other way round.

Secondly, Japanese and Chinese style writing is traditionally done reading up to down, right to left rather than left to right, up to down. I put those arrows in for a reason.

I think the difference is that:

Notch came up with a great concept for a game, but spent a lot of time dicking around on holiday, and towards the end of development spent a lot of time and energy adding superfluous objects to the game and releasing buggy updates.

Meanwhile, Jeb’s work has mostly been fixing bugs and adding really great stuff that people have been wanting for a long time.
