I've just completed Massive Chalice (or MASSIVE CHALICE, if you prefer) by DoubleFine, which I got because of OANST's generosity. It's been... quite a long time since he gave me the code, and I was trying to get into it, but it was definitely too bugged to have any fun with it then. But, as for now (no longer in Beta), it's totally playable.
The game is about a chalice, which also happens to be pretty massive. If that alone doesn't make you feel interested, I really don't know what will. (A giant goblet, maybe?) It's a mix of basic economy game and stripped-down-to-basics Xcom-like combat. But, unlike the XCOM remake, this game is fun, because it's not trying to be something that it isn't (I mean, XCOM tried to be an XCOM game and failed miserably). It took me 14 hours to complete the game on Normal difficulty (with permadeath) and I believe the difficulty is well-balanced. It wasn't easy, and it wasn't impossible hard. It became harder the further I got. I won the final battle by the skin of my teeth and it was exciting.
The whole game has a tendency to suck you in for "just one more battle". The ending was pretty meh, but didn't feel as cheap and bad as Broken Age Act II's ending. Also, this game has one of the best credits mechanics ever.
Recommended 7/10
Pros:
-Fun
Cons:
-Kickstarter = Cheap
-A bit tedious at 50-80% of the game
Thanks, OANST!
