Been quite busy with games lately. Started playing El Shaddai. It's so purty!
Also started Epic Mickey, which is a fun little platformer.
If you want an epic Mickey game you really should try Castle of Illusion, I got it over the Summer and it is beautiful albeit mad hard! I played it for like two weeks straight and couldn't beat that damn bookshelf and cake level. Gotta love 16-bit games, they were usually short but so challenging they never stopped being fun! Oh but Mickey Mania makes Castle of Illusion look like a pussy game, don't play that one, too hard even for me.

Oh there's absolutely no doubt that Castle of Illusion beats Epic Mickey. It's a brilliant classic. I always had trouble on the library with those retarded As jumping around. Mickey Mania is hard but doable.

I completed Mickey Mania when I was 8 or so.

Hardest game I've ever not given up on.

Well that's El Shaddai beat. Well, there's apparently a whole other set of levels I need to 100% first.

It was a really interesting game. Beautiful to look at, simple and fun to play, and a hilariously nonsensical mindfuck plot dealie.

I dunno if I'd call it a brilliant AAA title, but it's a hell of an experience, and I'd recommend it if you like pretty colours and faux-religious sillyness.

I'm currently playing The Baconing, which is the third Deathspank game. It's still fun, but it's nothing special after the second one. Also, you keep being given quests that feel like side-quests but they're in your main (i.e. non-side) quest list; you only find out after the fact why completing the quest helps you further your goals. So the whole wider plot is a little bit unthought out.

I'm still playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 like mad. I wish I wasn't so terrible online. The people there are just too good, and I also get put up against players who have won like 500 matches, and lost only a few hundred. I've won four.

I'm playing so many games right now that I don't really have time to do anything. It's school, sleep, play a little, go out, sleep and that's it. I'm so glad it's weekend now, no stress. Until Sunday that is.

Oh, yeah, the games. I've been playing L.A. Noire, Deus Ex, Just Cause 2 and I started a bad karma playthrough of Fallout 3.

And I really want to play DX:HR through again, but I got no time!

Made a start on Borderlands on the recommendation of a friend. Only about an hour or so in, but it’s been fun so far. Feels like a nice balance of hectic run ‘n’ gun and RPG.

Yeah man, it gets rough in the online battles. I can't remember my overall record, but it was pretty bad. I used to be able to find people on my level in MK and MvC3, but it seems Im just destined to forever suck at fighting games.

I remember when I first watched somebody play it I was thinking that it was a cheap knockoff of Fallout 3, but when I got stuck in and played it I realised how different it was and how much of a fantastic game it is. I don't really feel much excitement for Borderlands 2 though.

Agreed. I love AoE, Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings is one of the finest real-time strategy games i've ever played. Speaking of which i've actually been playing it quite a bit recently (wow the timing is great). I ordered the Gold Edition of amazon since my version I lost ages ago. And I've also been playing Minecraft for obvious reasons.
If you can, download the Age of Chivalry mod, get the dedicated server on Steam and then we can play if you like. ^_^

I'm taking a break from DX for a bit and capitalizing on Blockbuster's financial failure. I bought Red Faction: Armageddon and Shadows of the Damned today as well as downloaded Monster Hunter Freedom Unite to my PSP.

Red Faction is fun. Gets a bit boring after awhile, as you go through 3 pseudo-tutorial missions in a row, taking over an hour to beat them. It's a great improvement over Guerilla, and it looks really pretty. It's a gorgeous game.

Monster Hunter is Monster Hunter. It's neat being able to play it anywhere, but that's basically my room and the house of my friend who's into Monster hunter. The camera is a little finnicky (move with the analog nub, control pad turns/zooms in). You gotta hook your middle finger over the PSP to turn it in combat, so you look kinda goofy.

Haven't actually played Shadows of the Damned yet :F

Went back to Deus Ex after clearing El Shaddai and Space Marine...

Namir is a hard boss, I get killed in like five seconds!

Though I heard that if you went to the LIMB clinic earlier you wouldn't even have augments. Fucking lucky for me I missed it.

Not sure how to fight him though.

Shadows of The Damned is not a video game. It's a well programmed visual compendium of every dick joke ever thought up. It's entertaining and fun in this aspect, but it's crossing over to Monster Hunter; everything in that is called "Bone ___".

So I got a bit further in Borderlands, and fuck this game.

In a linear level as part of a plot-quest. My guns do tiny amounts of damage to enemies; at the end of the level is a massive boss who has mountains of health. Turns out enemies respawn over time, but ammo drops don’t, and when I die and respawn I literally get five bullets for whatever gun I’m using.

tl;dr limited ammo versus respawning tanks

I downloaded TF2 earlier and had a go at some of the training stuff. Very fun, and far superior to the Xbox 360 version. I couldn't connect to the internet on it though cause of some stupid as fuck error. I decided (stupidly) to reinstall Steam and didn't realise it removes all of your games. That means I've wasted shit tonnes of electricity leaving it installing over night. It seems obvious now that it'd remove anything to do with Steam but jesus, there needs to be an option to choose whether or not to remove your games.

I'm playing Proun. It's an excellent morsel of a game, I don't know if it has online multiplayer but it should. Abstract solids moving in soft focus, skimming across twisting geometry while funky neo-jazz plays. It's like a game set inside Bullet Magnet's head, albiet with less octopuses.

tl;dr PROUN, the grooviest game you'll play this year.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. It's like a big-shouldered frankenstein of Halo and Gears of War. It's quite fun and can be really challenging, but it's repetitive as can be with the melee combos and weapons after awhile. Worth Renting for sure.

I'm currently playing Battleforge. It's a free game, and above all, it's an interesting cross-over of a card game mixed with RTS elements like warhammer. What I really like about it, is that the cards you collect, are the units and soldiers you can summon and use, and there's a whole variety.

:

I think I have the paid version on Steam. I like it and all, and as superior as it may be to the Xbox version, there's now too many hats and weapons etc. going around, it's turning into a more complex game than it needs to be. It's still fun, but it's getting confusing.

Gears of War 3

I've only touched the campaign, but I think I can safely say this is far and away the best Gears game. Hardcore difficulty seems to be ramped up from Gears 2, which I enjoy. The Lambent Yellow Molemen are a tougher to fight than the Locust Regular Molemen. The two bosses I've fought so far are already better than pretty much any boss in the first two, and Im not even up to Act 3 yet. Think Ill jump into multiplayer a little later.

fuck this games ai though my fucking god and this current boss is SO MUCH FUCKING BULLSHIT fuck going through insane is going to be a fucking cunt ass bitch

I've been exsited for Super Mario 3D Land so i've been playing the original Super Mario Land games.

SML2 is so hard! I'm stuck on this boss fight against 3 Pigs... Yeah the Land games are the odd-balls of the Mario series

Gears of War 3 had the most hilarious ending, once you put it into context of the previous 2 games.

But they're recklessly trying to make a slice-of-life anime about us.

I've been exsited for Super Mario 3D Land so i've been playing the original Super Mario Land games.

SML2 is so hard! I'm stuck on this boss fight against 3 Pigs... Yeah the Land games are the odd-balls of the Mario series
They're not related though, are they? I think the naming is just coincidental.
Anyway! I'm also excited for Super Mario 3D Land.

Tried out Rise of Nightmares. Dorian liked it more than me. The twitchy motion controls that lead to endless amounts of bumping into walls and spinning in weird circles put me off. A nice jumping off point for other titles, though.

Tried Deus Ex. Liked it, but not as well as the last one that was on the original xbox. The main characters horrible batman voice drove me insane. Still fun.

Picked up a copy of Bulletstorm after checking out the demo and loving it. It's fun and somewhat challenging while still being pretty god damned funny. Really want to try Dead Island, but haven't been able to score a rental.

You mean Invisible War? Huh. I've gotten the impression it's definitely the worst in the series.

Anyways, I finally completed Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light yesterday evening and I enjoyed it. Would've been a lot more fun in co-op, but none of my friends have it and I don't really like to play with complete strangers.
