Ok let me clear up the regarding of the times. i want EVERYONE who plans on going to Oddchat please post your best desired time to come on. that way i can see what times are the best then we can put a official time coressponding to everyones time zones. if you could do that i think it would help.

if not then just try to show up at 7:00 pm. as it seems thats around the time somepeople are there. 5:00 for aussies. um lets see some at 10:00. anyway lets just see what happens so go and posts your desired times.

Hmm, although I'd dearly love to attend Theory Night, I'm only going to be around at weekends from now on... which is a shame in it's own right, but to miss this.

Oh well.

This is a proper and good thread, and has seen Oddchat come back to life.

I think it was a great idea, about the Oddchat schedule that is.

all the names were of our "little group"

Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Kai's a MOD!!!!!! Anyway, you guys don't know what you're missing at Oddchat! Tonight is alive after five, we can just talk about.... stuff I guess, we usually don't go by the schedul anyway though, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for an RPG! So come on down people and join the fun, admission is only a few jokes, and ladies drink free!

I can't get OddChat to work, even though I was using it yesterday.
Now I keep getting a message saying that the network doesn't permit proxy servers, then it kills me.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Kesiah...

Are you on any kind of network there (like school or work)? If so, they may have enabled a proxy server or firewall which is not allowing access to IRC chat servers. OddChat requires port 667 to be open. Don't worry if you do not know what that means, but if you ask your network administrator they should know and hopefully are friendly enough to help you out.

I used to have the same problem where I work... but luckily I have administrator privlages at work, so I was able to allow myself access to OddChat.

Regarding OddChat generally, we really hope to move away from that standard IRC software some day. Not only are there problems connecting for some, but it's prone to other issues like being de-registered. We did find one program we could use, but it was very difficult to install, so we gave up. But the search will continue!

Yeah... I'm sure this is a great idea but I'd like to know if anyone knows a website where I could compare (or whatever it's called) timezones. I'd like to join everyone, but first I need to know what time.

Maybe this should be at the Oddchat. Like a small list over the chat window... "Monday: that and that..."

The OWF do have a place where you can offset the time. You could compare what time it is for you, to what time it is in lets say, US Central. Theres usualy always people on anyways though, you'll usualy find people.
