I have owned two dogs. They require too much looking after and effort. Cats are chilled out, take themselves for a walk and clean themselves.

You will probably reply with:

"Dogs are less boring than cats and interact more with the owner."

Well valid point, there's no need to swear.

Hell, the largest breed of Domesticated Cat, the Maine Coon, hasn't got shit on any medium sized dog. I'll be over here with Rottweillers and Bull Mastiffs.

Dogs don't emote the same way people do. If it's mouth is closed and it's ears are raised but it's not making any noise, it probably doesn't want you to touch it. Dogs are unemotional or overtly antisocial when they don't trust you/aren't used to you.

I don't think this will last much longer but I will add my opinion, if only to be ripped to shreds by everyone.

I personally like cats more. Dogs scare the crap out of me when they bark. And when they can't actually get me, it annoys me. Cats just meow, hiss and do that reow thing. That doesn't strike me as unfriendly or annoying. I don't have either a cat or dog, but if it's one of those quiet big dogs, they are a nice companion. Cats just need to have both eyes (I once saw a rather creepy cat with just one eye.), and not scratch me when I come near it.
