While Abe is perfect for the job, and moves vertically as spiderman, going up and down from platform to platform, I have the feeling that Munch is a character that moves way more horizontally then Abe. Just look at munch swim, and roll in his wheelchair. How are you going to capture the fun controlling this character in 2D?

It wouldn't sell, apart from among OW fans. Besides, in MO Abe and Munch have to be in different places, that could be awkward, and SW is a shooter. I guess we can only fantasise about the good old days... and play the games again...
Here's how I think of it. A Munch's Oddysee 2D side-scroller would be very awesome of course. I could already picture it in my mind. However, if that was so, we have to get rid of swimming and possibly even the wheel chair. They could always add swimming but where's fun in that if it's in a side-scroller?
Stranger's Wrath is different. It would NOT work at all as a side-scroller. Stranger was best at first/third-person shooting. Not to mention, Stranger is very fast and runs around alot, having to avoid enemy attacks and even doing alot of action. It's a good thought, just won't work.....in my opinion.
That is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard in my life.
1, Lorne and Sherry's artistic capacity would be crippled by the graphical and dimensional constraints, new ideas could not be used and games would eventually appear samey, monotonous and boring.
2. OWI have to make money, retreating to 2D and staying there is commercial suicide on the highest level.
AO and AE were brilliant games of their time but their time is long past and it falls upon Lorne and Sherry to remake the brilliance for a newer generation using newer game engines, artistic techniques and graphical innovations. [/Rant]

I didn't say the first two games aren't the best, what I meant was that it is the creativity of Lorne and Sherry and not the platform that made AO and AE into works of genius, Strangers Wrath is likewise a work of genius and the only reason why MO is not is because of the stupid time constraints Microsoft had OWI work towards.
AO and AE could be made for the PS4 in 5D and still contain their original magic if designed by the right people IE: OWI.
