Thanks for the compliments!
It took long but here's the next part of the chapter:
------------------------------------------------------------
All hell was let loose on the place where the tracks stood.
Clakkerz ran for their lifes, followed by shooting outlaws. The Clakkerz took fly in all their tracks and closed their doors immediately.
And the outlaws battered against them with their guns.
"Get out! Now!", the outlaws shouted.
"Never! Go away, you stupid vermins! Hit the road already! Go away!"
And you heard other clakkerz crying: "Oh, we're all gonna die! They will shot
us all! We're so dead!"
All outlaws enjoyed themselves tremendously with their awed booty while a
lion-like bounty hunter sneaked up slowly through shrubberies to his bounty.
Clack-click-clack-clack-click.
One of that strange, cheeky squirrel and a spider thing sat on the crossbow
now. And with the same tactic which Stranger used some minutes ago, he
bagged three outlaws.
But surprisedly, all outlaws ran in the contrarious direction now.
And nobody came back. Just nobody.
You heard loudly bloodcurdling screams, shots and swearwords.
But then there was a dead silence.
What the...?, Stranger thought and left his hide slowly to look after what was go on behind the trailers. He leaned with his back against a caravan and had a carefuly look around its corner... but everywhere was nobody.
The place was just like empty. Thereby the bounty hunter was sure that there had to be a half-dozen outlaws some seconds ago. Stranger stepped to that place and looked around.
How could these outlaws just disappear without leaving their marks? Was this
a trick?
"Hey, boys! Where are you?", a last outlaw shouted afar which Stranger had
overlooked.
Before the outlaw could spot him, Stranger jumped in the next hiding shrubbery. The gun wearing outlaw stepped fastly on the great place between the tracks, which one was crawled with a lot of his friends some moments ago...!
"Uuuh... guys?", he asked so gently that you could pity him now, "Get out
your hides. The boss said he needs everyone of us for the ambush...!? Boys?"
Thereby you could see his fear of dangers in his frog-like eyes. While this
helpless one watched out for his fellows, Stranger got ready for an attack.
But he abuted upon something. Or someone.
Stranger saw Jennadelle standing next to him, aiming at the meandering outlaw and it seemed that Jennadelle didn't know who stood near her.
"What the hell are you doing here?! You must not...", Stranger whispered
angrily but Jennadelle cuted in with a warningly gesture.
There was an outlaw which could hear them finally...!
Stranger became a little low but doubly ominous for it: "Why did you follow
me?"
Jennadelle saw in his eyes. Actually, she wanted to answer but she had a lump in her throat at the moment. Jennadelle became a little nervous now. She mustn't tell him that she also was a bounty hunter.
He would become... angry.
"Listen, I really can't deal with you, my little lady. I plan to kick some oulaws's asses at the moment..."
"It's exactly what I do!", Jennadelle blurted out the truth.
She was scared herself by her directness but it was too late to call it off now.
"You...
what?!!", Stranger was so surprised that he lost the control about his loudness at this second.
The oulaw noticed him and stepped to the shrubbery. But he was still a stone's throw from the bounty hunters.
Stranger did a hounding and irritated gesture and snarled: "I'll look after you
later. First he's next..."
And he left his hide fastly. Jennadelle watched how the outlaw pulled the gun out and aimed at the bounty hunter. But before the outlaw could fire he got
wounded by a spider which wraped him up in its white net busily. After some
seconds Stranger came closer to him.
Plopp!
Jennadelle stepped out her hide when she noticed that this was the last outlaw here. Now there was no danger anymore. Momentarily.
Silence was on the trailer place while Jennadelle came closer to Stranger.
"So, plaintext now!", Stranger turned to her.
Fortunately, he seemed to be a little cooler than before.
"Why did you follow me?"
Jennadelle had to tell him the truth. Who cares. He couldn't harm more than
the six outlaws which Jennadelle had baged before.
"I didn't follow you, I wanted to go to Floyd. I'm a bounty hunter."
When he heard the word
bounty hunter Stranger turned his face away
from her... refraining from laughing.
Sure, he disbelieved her. Maybe it was good so. For Jennadelle. She kept
serious anyway.
"Forget it, Floyd is mine.", Stranger said in his calmly way.
But now... he really began to loom large...
He closed in on Jennadelle and looked at her with his gimlet, green eyes.
Jennadelle's heart was almost in heer boots. But she dissembled it. As good as she could...
This man was dangerous indeed.
"I think you better stay out my way", Stranger turned and went away.
He let Jennadelle stay where she was. If she didn't have the strong feeling to
remain with Stranger she would be miles away in a second.
But something important... Jennadelle felt it clearly in her bones, it could not
be wrong... something important let her close to this mysterious bounty hunter.
A clakker stept out his trailer: "Whew… glad you showed up! I thought we
were goners!"
Stranger came close to him: "The outlaws seemed to have blocked the way to town."
"Yeah, those stinky bastards got us good this time!", the clakker said peevishly, "Hmm...well, I think there's a mine shat that'll get us to town"
And he stept to a place behind the trailers where a metallic bridge was cranked up over it's head. But he didn’t take notice of it. Yet.
"Now, where is it? I could've sworn it was over here.", the clakker said and had a look at his left and his right but he still didn't find something, "N-no, oh! Maybe over here... oh... now what was I lookin' fer again...?"
And surprisedly:
DONG!
The metallic bridge over the clakker fell, and landed right on his body. He was
dead immediately.
"Oooops! Ha ha haa!", you heard someone laughing afar behind the fallen bridge.
And no person other than Filthy Hands Floyd with his two boys stood behind the pressed button for the machinery of the bridge.
Stranger took no notice of the killed clakker and came, in his strong and
indomitable way, a little closer to the outlaw boss.
"Filthy-hands Floyd.", he snarled, "I'm taking you in. Alive or a corpse. It’s your choice..."
But the outlaw boss was nearly unimpressed of his enemy.
"Looks like we got's company, boys!", he said nonchalantly to his two minions which were gun-toting as well. But their guns were not as big as Floyd's shotgun.
"Let's give him a warm welcome.", Floyd grinned.
In this moment Jennadelle's pride became provoked. She stept quickly in the range of vision of the outlaws.
"Hey, you! Try to match with me first!"
...now there was a dead silence while everyone payed attention to that strange girl.
Then finally, all outlaws bursted out laughing.
Stranger just banged his hand on his forehead and shaked his head.
Floyd looked at him grinning while his minions almost rolled on the floor:
"Hey, Stranger! What... is she a friend of yours?"
Stranger pulled his over the eyes lying hat right on his head and looked at Floyd: "Hell, no! I don't know who she is!"
Now Jennadelle was pissed. Pissed off.
It was already enough that these outlaws did laugh. And that Stranger was ashamed of her. Everybody just underestimated her so much...
Jennadelle's bloody claw came out her finger tips fastly and she became gimlet-eyed. Now it was time to show who she was!
Showing her carnivore-like teeth, she crawled: "You don't know who I am? Well, I'll teach you with who you are dealing with!"
And at this moment everything happened very quickly. Too quickly for both of Floyd's boys which with laughter didn't notice the dangerous, wacked out thing with razor-sharp claws which came closer to them at an accelerated tempo. But now, when it was too late, the outlaw minions stopped to laugh.
Now, when claws drilled deep in the first minion's chest.
The minion could not say a word. Couldn't scream. He just droped dead immediately.
His fellow cried out and tried with his gun to aim at that cat-like murderer.
But Jennadelle saw him earlier than he saw her.
With a jump, she avoid his shoot which splintered the next barrel behind.
Meanwhile Floyd came out his confusion that had let him just watching what that girl did with his boys the last seconds.
And he got ready his shotgun.
Jennadelle hunted after the fleeing minion. Thereby she let him ran to the next trailer.
Then she baged him there. And didn't even let him resound.
Stranger watched Jennadelle a bit amazedly at her but he didn't say a thing.
Plopp!
Another outlaw in Jennadelle's can trap. Almost alive. Not like the last one which Jennadelle had killed by her anger.
Now Floyd got his gun reload finally and aimed at Jennadelle which had turned him her back while she had baged his minion:
"Wait, you little...!"
Stranger act immediately when he saw him.
Quickly he ran from behind the trailer to Jennadelle and pulled her back behind it again.
Right in this moment the bounty hunters saw big bullets which missed Jennadelle by some centimeters and they bored deep in the floor now.
Five ones at the same time.
"
Oh my... ", Jennadelle whispered scared.
Stranger lost his hold on her arm.
She looked at him a little wonderingly: "That was damn nice of you."
"You were too overhasty!", Stranger told her earnestly, "Never do that again if you want to have a long life in this job!"
Jennadelle nodded.
"I just was pissed..."
"Keep your temper then, young lady!", Stranger said and turned away from
her, "Even they are outlaws."
Clack-click-clack-clack-click
"Leave Floyd to me."
