To anwser a question from a while ago, I'm about 5"9/5"10 I think. I can't remember exacally if i was ether as tall as you or taller? We need to meet up again!

Except that the Analytical Engine was never finished. I suspect you were only looking at a part of it, and not even a working part at that. The tour guides actually operated the Difference Engine to perform a calculation for me. Which was awesome.

It's the Hebrew word 'Chai' (pronounced like the 'ch' in 'loch') in an unusual scripty font - this and this are what it normally looks like. Chai means 'life' and if the letters are switched it becomes the number 18, which is why 18 and multiples thereof are often used in Judaism. For instance, at my bar mitzvah, almost all the cash/book voucher gifts were in multiples of 18.

Not really. The river cut down in to a flat plain. The surfaces on both sides of the canyon are completely featureless for miles in either direction.

It's mind-bogglingly huge. At first my mind couldn't even comprehend how massive it was. Not quite as colourful as I was expecting, though.

One of my friends once visited me while my housemate and his mum were in the house. After he saw them together, he expressed to me his shock at my housemate's girldfriend.

Luckily he's the kind of loveable doofus who could get away with it. Also he was polite enough to not say anything at the time.

To lighten the mood:

This is a half-decent picture of me (I'm the one that isn't Sonic nor female). I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not photogenic, so now the majority of photos I'm in involve me doing anything with my face other than smiling. However, I've yet to find the right face. A disproportionate number of photos have me looking either incredibly sarcastic or just with my mouth open as wide as I can possibly open it.
