ODST is still my favourite. It had a great atmosphere and the little tweaks (night vision, health packs) made it the ideal Halo game for my taste. I actually felt immersed in the universe whereas before it was just 'You're a walking tank with infinite lives uh oh aliens W+M1'.
ODST, Halo 2+Halo 3, CE, Reach.
I loved the map builder in reach, though. Hopefully Forge makes a return.
I've been playing some Doom. Nothing beats Doom.
Monster Hunter Tri is a very different...monster compared to Freedom Unite and Poirtable 3rd (which is a port of Tri). Both of those are for the PSP and start you out with one of every type of weapon (the weakest starting weapons possible) and immediately throw you into the 'choose a mission' mechanic. Not so with Tri. in Tri, you start out with one extremely weak sword and spend a good 3 hours doing bullshit that doesn't let you improve it. The box implies that you can 'start out however you want, experienced or not' but that is an outright lie. No matter what you have to do a lot of tedious non-monster hunting things. The farm fucking blows ass in this version, too. Gone are the days where you could plant crops, go on a mission, get 8-10 more of those crops upon completing the mission rinse and repeat. Now you can only plant one area of the farm at a time and completing a mission yields 1-3 items with MAYBE one of them being a clone of your original crop. It's frustrating, slow, boring, tedious, uninteresting, unfulfilling and just fucking bizarre given the amazing structure that the PSP games seem to have.
In summary Capcom blows.
