Muzzling us all:BCRA
I have been very angry about this for a verry long time. The BCRA makes it illegal to advertise or speak directly about party issues 60 days before a primary and 90 days before a general election. What does this mean? All groups, activist and media, must refrain from political speak. Oh no, only NBC, and newspapers and the media can talk about that kind of "heavy stuff"citizens and groups can't do anything. The NRA can't talk, and neither can Hand Gun Control, Inc. Only the media can. Think of your favorite organization, they can't say a blinking thing or they are PUNISHED, GIVEN A CRIMINAL RECORD, AND SEVERELY FINED. All that money flows right into the politicians coffers, the only other exempt group. So, you, the people, what democracy is all about, don't mean diddley, Only Big Daddy Bureaucracy(who knows best, of course) can do or say anything. But wait, there is more. Hollywood can do whatever it wants, but the people who go to the movies and make them rich, they can't do anything. Commericials are being partially banned before elections and primaries. Now the government is eyeing the Internet groups even more, perhaps so they can fine them naughty, democratic behavior, and line their pockets with the payoff.
