Does it not? I just figured it was kind of appropriate since I avoid the texture as much as possible and I can't really look at it without getting similar feelings to heights.

I was actually thinking of posting something similar to that but wasn't sure if it would count as a fear/phobia. There are certain textures that, when rubbed, really just drive me up the fucking wall. But it's not necessarily something that I fear, and just more of something that makes me physically uncomfortable. But this sounds a little different than your case.

I think we're talking more irrational fears, or more overwhelming ones. Some (most of) touchpads are not very pleasant to use, but that doesn't automatically make it a fear to avoid them. It's like styrofoam or nails on a chalkboard, it's just very annoying to most people.

That's because those sounds are similar in frequency (around 4khz is the loudest range) to the human voice, which our brain amplifies so we can hear people better. That's why those sounds are so grating to us.

It's not touchpads, I just mentioned that because I was helping a friend on his laptop and it had a touchpad with that texture and he wouldn't understand why I was using gloves on it (I turned on MouseKeys after a while because I could still feel the texture since I knew what I was touching, still wasn't great since I knew the touchpad was there I just had to go play Quake to forget about it).

Also it's not really an annoyance, I genuinely can't stand touching or seeing it (or thinking about it, though not as effective), it gives me a similar feeling to heights. It is annoying in that no one I know has a similar problem at all and no one really understands/believes me when I mention that I don't want to hear about it. I personally can't get over it by any means other than forgetting about it over time.

(EDITED)
I suffer from kompounophobia and have a mild dislike of clusters of holes.
Just in buttons, or is it Trepanophobia (don't google that)? I'm not sure if that technically counts as a phobia for me, but it's a visceral disgust. I think it's interesting because it's almost like a memetic phobia for me - it didn't bother me until I heard someone describe it, and it's just gotten worse since then.

Also, how do you get on in life when you're surrounded by buttons?

:
I'm afraid of getting old, though. I'll probably shoot myself when I get to the point where I can't stand up myself.
Nah, my theory is that when I get that old I'll take every single drug known to man. The idea being that (a) I'll need something to cheer me up, (b) I can't fuck up my life all that much when there's not much of it left to live and (c) the cops aren't going to send an 80 year old to jail for possession.

Eventually you just get used to it, don't think about them being there and don't touch them with your hands :/ it's just them though, nothing else hole related really. I don't like clusters of holes but it's a different feeling and much less disgusting.

One of the things I have a fear of is alternating darkness and brightness. I don't mind being in full darkness, certainly not as much; my eyes can adjust or I can rest assured that nobody, barring the supernatural or people with night vision goggles can see me. I do not however like it when there is a continuous change between light and dark: flickering lights, streetlamps with too large a separation, crossing dark rooms, that kind of thing.

I suppose it makes some sense; I can't see optimally into the dark, but things in the dark could see me in the light. Since I get home so late, it's almost always dark at home. I find myself always sticking to either staying in as much brightness as possible or taking the darkest possible route. Anything else tends to make me rather tense.

I also have a fear of cities. The larger the worse. No matter how much space there is, it always feels claustrophobic, noisy, dirty and overwhelming. I don't even really mind confined spaces, but something about all the other things in the city just makes me approach everything in there with a degree of mistrust.
