Err some one pointed out something concerning in the Facebook comments.


Abe getting hit there in the 1st shot. Is that a bird coming out of him? like, munches oddysee style health bar?

It's true that Abe does have something strange on his back. It could be a health-bird-thingy (those birds need a proper Oddworld name) getting out of his body like in MO.

I guess if they choose the MO style health bar it is probably because they need to be accessible to casual players as one-hit deaths might be regarded as too hard.

If they are doing this they should definitely allow players to choose the one hit death as an option.

How can you say anything when you don't know how it works though? It could be a distinction between getting clipped by one shot as opposed to actually being in the line of fire. It could just be part of the death animation.

I think/hope Abe just ran through some birds and scared them. They're common enough in Paramonia.

I get the cater to casual players theory, but cutting out the 1 shot dead would be so disheartening and disappointing. Not drawing conclusions though. The game looks fantastic.

That thing circled in blue is Abe's other arm and the one circled in orange just looked like part of the tree to me. I only just noticed the blood though, so great. Now I have no idea.

If the thing circled in blue is one of Abe's arms it means he has 3 arms.



By looking closely you can see his left arm is pointing downwards and his hand is just above his knee.

Abe gets shot.

A bird appears out of the bullet wound.

if all birds spill from abes insides, abe dies.



I thought they were called spirit birds and started off or turned into blue energy balls. Like, when you die in AO or Exo, that sparking chant energy emits from the corpse, raises into the air and birds appear out of the energy. Even with the portals.


if what we are saying is happening, abe has birds for blood. Not that mystic energy that forms into an animal, just full on avian creatures for blood. That and scrabs and paramites will have to keep kicking or biting abe to kill him...

is this why abe or mudokons are chicken?


I summon the power of Will to come forth and give clarity (if possible).

I think it was much more obvious in AE, if I remember correctly, compared to AO.

Yeah It was only in Abe's Exoddus the Sligs shot the ground before then shooting Abe. I think it was implemented to give you a chance to escape a Slig. However I think completely removed in the later stages.

Abe's Oddysee was instant kill.

Yes. You should at least have to reload the save as punishment for death. If you can just live on with a little less health, there is essentially no punishment.

I suspect that they will go with the MO style of health for New n Tasty, it will be great for people that aren't familiar with the original, but I would never put it over the JAW and OI to not have a "instant death" mode aswell in the game for us die hard fans.....



But the moment I see a fucking Sobe vending machine in NnT I will freak shit!
