It’s difficult to say right now as I’ve only ran through the opening tutorial missions, but so far every mission has been milquetoast and dull. I can see glimpses of what makes the sequels so good (Johnny Gat has appeared a grand total of once so far and is far and away the best part of the game), but it definitely lacks a lot compared to #2.

There were also some suspect decisions made with regards to the controller layout.

Well, it's over now. I finished Telltale's The Walking Dead episode five just a few minutes ago. Fuck, I'm really sad now. I'd say the ending of the whole game is sort of predictable because of the decisions you have to make in the later parts of the game. I'm not sure if there are multiple endings, but I believe no matter what it all ends up to (OBVIOUSLY DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE GAME) Lee turning into a walker and Clementine killing or leaving you. That depends on if you have taught her to be brave/to shoot etc..

It was great episodic game, you really get attached to the characters and start to care about them and I suggest everyone to play it. The only down side of the game is that it has technical issues in many parts (lagging, frame rate drops and freezing), but if you can look through that, it's great. It's also worth playing because of Clementine. ;__;

-

I also finished the singleplayer campaign of Black Ops 2. It was surprisingly good actually, they tried something new with the player decision-making thing, the cutscenes and the strike force missions and succeeded (and failed at some parts) quite well. Overall pretty enjoyable.

Multiplayer is very fun too if you liked the previous ones.

I have to say, it has a unique visual style and runs with it well. It seems to have a well thought out plot, and the multiple choices help to keep it fresh for multiple plays. For anyone interested in picking it up, there's a bonkers Steam sale on. Just picked up Terraria and Defcon cheap

Ah yes the Steam Sales. I got Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II. I vaguely remember playing it before and it was dirt cheap so why not.

I picked up Portal 2 and a few other small games like World of Goo from the steam sale, I have it on (the now broken) xbox and just couldn't get around to finishing, i got pretty close to the end i think and just stopped, couldn't be bothered with it, i don't even know why.

Oh yeah, so right now i'm playing through portal 2 again to see the ending.

I played Little Inferno from start to finish. It's pretty much what it says on the box; you have a fireplace and you burn shit in it. A lot of that shit does interesting/cute/amusing things while they're burning. And some of the shit interacts with other shit in the fireplace.

You get money for burning shit, but you can only use the money to buy more shit. There are a lot of vaguely worded combos, in which you find two shits that go together in some way to create a pun. Combos give you stamps, which let you speed up delivery of shit.

There's a story aspect as well, but it feels tacked on. At a certain point, the gameplay changes and it feels like the start of something BIG, but then it doesn't go anywhere and a few minutes later you get the end credits.

Having said that, it's actually kinda fun and cute and atmospheric. It's a toy, rather than a game. Buy it on sale and kill a few hours. Maybe wait until the mobile version comes out, as it feels like a game made for a touchscreen.

Just grabbed Overgrowth at the recommendation of a friend. As it isn't fully developed yet all you can really do is mess around within the engine. Still pretty fun though, especially the combat.

Borders on furry I suppose in that the characters are all anthropomorphic animals but I didn't really think of it that way until my friend pointed it out.

Satisfyingly visceral and good to waste a few hours on.

Portal 2 is indeed fantastic. Need to do co-op now that my router is back on form.

World of Goo however, I didn't really get into. I found some mechanics very fiddly, despite the gorgeous graphics. Maybe I need to give it another chance.

I got my Windows computer back today complete with a fancy new nVidia GTX 670. I tried out Minecraft and flew around with everything on the highest settings and found myself sitting comfortably on 80fps at my native screen resolution 1680x1050 (I only have a single-link DVI cable for now). I installed Optifine and found I could sit steadily on 120 fps. I decided I'd ramp up the AA and AF to x16 and I noticed almost no change in framerate.

I could probably make everything even smoother if I played around with the loading settings in Optifine, but that can wait for another day. I'm content for now.

Though saying that, If I got a new graphics card/PC, the first game I would try out would be Team Fortress 2.

It would have taken me several hours to download that. Minecraft took the best part of a few seconds.

I wanted a quick benchmark, which Minecraft is excellent for.

Torchlight 2 looks great, too. TF2 is going to have to wait until next month when I haven't almost blown my download quota

Portal 2 is pretty awesome, though i kind of find myself prefering the first one, Portal 2 kind of seemed like it'd been stretched out too long, and World of Goo is pretty good if you need to kill some time, I haven't gotten too far myself really, i'm just past the bit where they start introducing balloons.

I also got the chance to have a go of Halo 4 yesterday round a friend of mines, he had already completed the campaign and was telling me about how 343 industries had done a pretty good job with it, we played the campaign together and it was fun, we had a laugh and all that, though i don't think i'd of had as much fun playing the campaign by myself and we didn't get around to going on multiplayer so i don't know if that's any better, maybe next weekend

I thought Portal 2's length was perfext. Not too long or too short. And there was Little events happening every couple of chapters so you didn't get bored. I loved how dark the first one was, though. Got creepy during the escape levels.

They're either good or terrible.

Well, post-Sonic 3D.

I consider bland things to be terrible.

Inverted, this may explain why I like Mirror's Edge. You might not think it was good, but it was vibrant as fuck.
