Both 'woman' and 'girl' imply certain age ranges. 'Female' is widely considered to be acceptable and you're the first person I've ever seen refer to it as dehumanising.

Sorry to tell you bad news, but I heard from trustable sources that the person who is currently detaining the copyright is not interested at the moment or is interested in future to continue/revive the series.
