New article on IGNXbox... and doubts
An article about the Oddworld Quintology and its future has been posted, as the featured article, at xbox.ign.com. It mainly focuses on the transition to the next-generation console, and raises a question which I feel hasn't really recieved enough attention.
When we first heard real info about Munch, most of the first stuff was about the simulation aspect of the game - one of the first videos included Mudokons gathering wood, another changing seasons, another growing trees. But the recent media coming forth from OWI seems to be entirely focused on the themes which we saw in the first two games - running, jumping, possessing - with almost nothing about what I felt was the coolest and most original aspect of the game.
Now, it's possible, even probable, that OWI is just demonstrating one thing at a time, and that they are working just as hard as ever on resource-gathering and community management. But given the emphasis they placed on this aspect of the game early in development, and the lack thereof recently, one must wonder... Can anyone out there cconfirm or disprove this? Ideally disprove?
Danke sehr.
