What makes you think that we don't believe in some kind of afterlife? Just because we don't believe in a Supreme Being doesn't mean we think that it's all going to be just black after we die...

I personally am content to wait and see. I think what is most likely is Reincarnation, but that's just what I think will happen. The only evidence for Reincarnation is very weak (people who recall past lives and things), but since there can never be any evidence at all in favour of Heaven or just Blackness, I choose Reincarnation...

Apart from anything else, it's what I would want to be true, which is what Religion is based on, anyway...

i don't really have much to say, except kudos for those of us, well all of us, who kept cool heads throughout this entire discussion.
this was a very 'productive' discusssion, what with no fights getting in the way.
i do like the idea of reincarnation, as it seems the most likely to me...
i also like the idea my mom once gave me..and I quote,
"But what if our universe as we know it, is just like some fish tank in a persons living room?"
it's not the best, but it certainly appeals to me.
anyway, i'm rambling again...

i cant stand to live another mans/womens life i would feel that my soul had been changed and my last self was just an outfit.
My belief is whatever you have faith in is what you shall get.

people who believe in god will get god
people who believe in satan will get satan
people who believe in nothing will get nothing
people who believe in reincarnation will get reincarnation
people who belive in white fluffy puff daddies will get white fluffy puff daddies

It is all based on faith

I beleive what oddbodd mean't was that if you truely believed you would go to heaven you would go to heaven, if you truely believe you would go to hell you would go to hell. unfortunatly I get the bad end of that, I go to nothingness.

Steve, nothingness isn't necesarily a bad thing. You wont have any reservations about nothingness when you not even your thoughts exist. I'd go as far as to say there's a sense of beauty in eternal nothingness. *wipes tear from eye*
