I might have to do the same but I will feel like a leechy cunt to give as little as I can for a set-your-own-price deal. So if I do do it, I'll make separate contributions to each of the factions.
The 'normal' graphics style that Borderlands had in their previews gave it this awesome ambient look.
Then they made it all...uuh.
I do like shell-shaded graphics, but it's the fact I had an expectation for it and it totally lose all appeal to me.
@Shellshaded related stuff, I found a very old copy of Jet Set Radio Future for the Xbox in my house today. I gave it a whirl today and all the memories came rushing back.

Ah, we are high school boys,
the miserable high school boys.
If we were girls, we could get popular by doing anything:
rock band, jazz band,
karate, kendo, mahjong, cyborg, synchronized swimming...
On the other hand, high school boys are
useless outside battle and sports anime.
But they're recklessly trying to make a slice-of-life anime about us.
Ah, we are high school boys,

Also, try as hard as I might, I can never match the criterion of being a True Scotsman either.

I picked the snake starter, but quickly relegated it to secondary once I discovered the other new pokemon.
Especially the Ice-cream-cone guy.
Snake guy's the only one that looks halfway decent, but I generally don't pick the grass ones since it's my least favorite type. How late in the game is Axew? I've warmed up to that one. It's final evolution reminds me of an improved Tyranitar.

Borderlands is -75% off on steam. Should I buy it even though my computer can't run it?
Buy it now, then when you finally upgrade you'll be able to play it later.
I am loving this 2K sale - A couple of days ago Bioshock 1 and 2 was on special offer for £3.70 each. Playing games is so much better than watching other people play games - Makes me regret not upgrading sooner.
Nope, Axew is just after you get Surf after the sixth gym late.

Makes sense, I never bothered with surf til gym 8. It's funny how they were pretty unnecessary.

Whereas I explored every Surf available area as soon as I got it, caught two legendaries, ten new pokemon and trained up between three and four levels on all the water route trainers.

What's the point if your computer can't run it? It's a good game though.
He can buy it cheap now and upgrade at some point in the future. I've done it before.
I played the beta for Rift a while back. Now it's out and the bugs have beeen fixed, I would recommend people give it a whirl. I know a lot of people here make some kind of moral objection to MMOs*, so I'm not expecting much of a response, but it's worth looking into for one reason: The normally poncy elements, Life and Water, are the creepiest of the lot. Water is all about the hideous forces hidden in the deep, and Life embodies eternal, bloodthirsty competition.
Also, there's a speck of dirt on my monitor shaped exactly like a size 2 comma. I spent about 40 seconds trying to backspace it before rubbing it off.
*I don't mean that literally. It's a joke. I just mean people don't like them. I shouldn't have to make footnotes like these but there's always one person who takes it seriously.
Pixeljunk Shooter 2. I didn't even realise it was released until this morning.
It's like the first game+. The new ideas are fairly cool, such as bacteria stuff that multiplies itself and quickly gets out of control if not dealt with quickly. The acid is stressful, too. It gives you just enough time to panic and struggle towards water before it kills you.
I've also encountered the new "Hungry Suit". It's stupid. You can only move in 4 directions and eat stuff. You rely on falling blocks to kill enemies. It's fucking annoying to use.
The online sounds really good, too, although I can't connect to any matches. It probably has something to do with me living in Australia.
The new Yar's Revenge is shit! It would've been awesome it they had just remade the original with neon colored 3D models and HD technicolor explosions. Instead we get overly complicated controls and cutscenes, I'm getting really sick of cutscenes -_-
