Olm frowned. He didn't like to see patients treated like that, especially when it hadn't shown any signs of violence yet, but he accepted than the guards were a little on edge, having already lost two of their number to one of these creatures, and there wasn't much he could do to stop them if they wanted to keep this creature asleep. What really annoyed him was that they used their own unpredictable sedatives, rather than his, which were known to be more efficent and safer. Oh well...
He knelt at the creature's side. He could see already that there was nothing he could do for the other one, but this one looked mostly okay, only its arm was twisted awkwardly. Gritting his teeth, Olm reached down, applying some pressure to the elbow, and snapped the broken bones together. That done, he reached into his bag, taking out some bandages and wrapping up the arm so that it could set.
Standing up, he looked the creature up and down, and then crouched down to patch up a few small wounds, before stepping back to look the creature over. Nodding, he turned to Cho'yo and the guards.
"I've mostly patched it up, but I'd like to take it back to my hut to keep it under observation; there may be some mental stress that I can't see."
Cho'yo frowned. "Are you sure? Wouldn't it be better to keep it here where we can keep an eye on it?"
Olm's eyes narrowed. "No, I'd prefer it where I can keep an eye on it."
"But that one there killed two guards!"
"Yes, but that one there is already dead, and won't be killing anyone else." Olm frowned again. "Has this one done anything?"
There was discussion behind Cho'yo, then one mudokon child piped up. "He asked for help."
Olm smiled. "So I'm going to give him it. Besides, I have another patient to look after at the same time. Now help me to carry him!"
The guards looked to Cho'yo, who nodded. Moving forward, they hoisted the lizard up and Olm led them back to his hut.
