Well yes, but the queen lays one egg every minute right?
The consumer mudokons would just be like scrubs but with more money.

Humans are still industrialist. To cut things short. What Agent Smith said to Morpherus in The Matrix. Muds are caring to plant life. xD

oh just of a funny scene. Of a greedy human child keeps eating last opple and the mud at the side keeps re-growning it. Mud is annoyed and says how many can this human child eat.

What about Greenpeace and Hippies? I think we can be just as caring for nature as the Mudokons.

Reactionary behaviour, I don't think some humans are born with a predisposition to hug trees.

There are remote tribes of people who live Mesolithic lifestyles, many of who wear Nike T-shirts and all of whom have heard of Neil Armstrong.

I can't agree with this. The industrial revolution was one of a kind, most societies kept themselves to tradition. If anything, humans have it in their biology to be tribal, since that is the social environment in which our biology evolved. Sentience allows us to go past our natural predispositions and develop new ways of living; it's not because the industrialist way of living, once developed, is enormously dominant that it is natural, though it's strength in the modern world may give that impression.

We can't forget that we have layer upon layer of culture, and a lot of those layers development are needed for a society like ours to function.

We overwhelmingly value immediate gains over long-term prospects. This is a trait that is ubiquitous throughout the natural world, but we have the means to turn it into something monstrous. These would be the downsides of industrialism.

We never really get past our natural predispositions. More often, we simply take them too far and subvert the reason we have them. Human instinct is powerful, and dominates every aspect of our lives. The urges, desires and compulsions we feel every day- we do not wilfully choose to have or follow these, we just do. It's built in.

You are right, we don't surpass our natural predispositions, I expressed myself wrongly. Allow me to rephrase, culture, which is only possible through the natural predisposition of sentience, and thus a derivate of our genetics, even though it is not in itself genetic, affects behavior.

As for we overwhelmingly valuing immediate gains, that is mostly true, but a long-term promise that things will get better, for example, can often get good results. It seems to me that most revolutions, revolts and other kinds of dissent usually happen not when things are bad, but rather when things are worsening.

I'm not sure that the order of space and time would cope with humans being in Oddworld. The Mudokons are, in essence, the Oddworld equivalent of humans. Sure, humans and Mudokons are differents species, but in some sense they are parallel to one another, and to have them in the same place at one time might cause not just unbalance in the universe, but could potentially cause problems.

Mudokons would not have seen humans before and might mistake us for a new form of Industrialist. Also, how do we know that we could survive on Oddworld? We have no idea what the gravity, air content, or planetary structure of Oddworld is.

Despite all this, I think it would be pretty awesome to be in Oddworld. I mean, to wake up in the morning and see Scrabs, Paramites, and all kinds of other strange creatures outside your window would simply be breathtaking!

But here are the big questions... If humans were on Oddworld, what would be on Earth? And if we were on Oddworld, would we survive?

The Universe would most likely be unaffected by such a small change to one planet.
The universe is uncannily balanced and I think that any immediate change in anything would have horrific results.

Could you elaborate on why you think this? Because I do doubt that there'd be any problem caused by one small change on one world.

The problem is that how do we know Oddworld has the same Gases then Earth, we might not be able to breath.

As we're talking hypothetically, all that doesn't matter. As Bullet Magnet once brought up, looking at the mass of the planet and what have you, it's impossible for the inhabitants to be as they are, so obviously, real science doesn't apply on Oddworld.

With just the fact that there is gases, we would still be able to breath. We can breath every gas (air is a mixture of gases) because our lungs are designed to take in gases - some of which are lethal. Our bodies may not use some of the gases but are still breathed in. I'm not been a dick, I'm just pointing out .
Anyways, the vital gases on Oddworld though, may not have the same effect to our bodies as oxygen but the inhabitants bodies may be adapted to an oxygen-like gas that our bodies wouldn't 'know' how to use.
On the other hand, Oddworld looks to have some of the same plants Earth has. This means that they may respire with carbon dioxide then excrete oxygen.
Yet again, the Oddworldian plants may just be used to using a carbon dioxide-like gas for photosynthesis and excreting a oxygen-like gas.

Either way, we'd still be Scrab chow :P

(Wasn't the guy who made this thread just on some really stupid revenge mission?)
