How about if this place turned on the 'quote within quote' feature? If you don't know what I mean, it's when you quote a post that already has a quote in it, both quotes will appear. It helps people understand what exactly you're replying to sometimes, without them having to remember or go back and look.
Of course, it can also get crazy when people abuse it, but I think you can put a limit on how many quotes can appear within quotes.
Sometimes someone quotes a post and then after commenting on the quote they will say somthing completly different. What about if you want to quote the 'Somthing completly different ' without the other quote.
I guess I'll Yay because you could always edit the 'Somthing completly different quote and get rid of the previous quote.
If you don't understand a word I said please tell me so.
Unfortunately, after doing a bit of research it appears that removing quotes in the thread context (as opposed to the PM context) is innate to vBulletin. In other words, there isn't an on or off switch.
I further looked into it to see if I could have whipped up a plugin of some sort to take care of this, but the way the function that handles stripping quotes, and the method the function is called is something I wouldn't be able to circumvent without directly editing the source files - which just doesn't happen anymore.

It works on the forums here, it just gets annoying that you have to typed the html signs for each quote. It would just take a little more effort to type the quote features in. A lot of copying and pasting is all we have to do.

Interesting. Too bad I'm far too lazy to do that and tell other people to, but nice find, none the less!

Oh yes, you can do it manually, but it won't work automatically like Fax had wanted. I suppose you could use the Multi-Quote feature, and just cut and paste as you mentioned.
