I realize that. And it's trite. It's also borderline retarded.

Edit: Also anything that tickles Havok's I hate America bone is to be looked upon with reproach.

Nah, I actually meant the movie of Oddworld Inhabitants... not about THE oddworld movie... well, I guess it was a mistake in writing.

Having them bound in a shackle clearly implies that the film will deal with a world where you'r not free to use those rights anymore
This gets me interested.
At first I was dissappointed; I don't want people in OWI's movies.. but as you've said, it's good to start slow. And I reckon that the movie will still have an Oddworldish style.
Mmmm, dark humour... :Q
So cool if the movie and the game will be launched simultaneously. (Assuming that the game does have more quality than the usual movie-based games.)

(Hehheh. Citize Siege the game. We'd be playing CS. Will we be categorized as CS -nerds, then? :B *snort*)

I am so excited! And I just can'd hide it! I'm about to lose control and I think I like it, yee!

I trust Oddworld knows what they are doing. As long as I get my Abe's Oddysee movie one day, I'll remain very pleased about the announcement.

Lorne and Sherry seem extremely confidend and seem to have done a lot of excellent moves to get where they are now.

I have total faith in them

Sad

i do have faith in them but i mean, at least oddworld does have a web of fans behind them whereas citizen siege is a brand new poject which i doubt would hit as hard at the box office as say an oddworld movie.

But an interesting phenomenom is that the Oddworld fans are rallying around it as if it is Oddworld. It certainly is our ticket there.

How is it borderline retarded? I think it's quite creative since no other film has done that. I usually laugh at your posts since they're funny, but now you're just having a go at Lorne for making a movie you haven't even seen yet.

Exactly what about it do you not think has been done in film before? Because the plot of this movie has been enacted in 100's of films. Some of them good. Many of them bad. This is just one more mediocre dystopian future film.

The thing that I was calling borderline retarded is the fact that he used an American flag for his "fictional" country but replaced the stars with dollar signs. This shows a lack of interest in creating an actual living world to tell the story in. What country, in first forming itself, is going to put its' currency (which it probably hasn't even created yet) on its national symbol? This shows that they are making a movie about political beliefs instead of a movie that revolves around a story that contains their political beliefs.

How do you know it’s a mediocre film when it doesn’t even exist yet?

America is a fictional country?
They announced the plot. Dystopian future where peoples rights are being taken away. Chaos ensues. blah blah blah.

I assume it's going to be mediocre because there hasn't been a good movie made in this vein in thirty years. Plus the other reasons I gave.

America is a real country. Hence the "quotation marks" around the word fictional. He created a country called Americo instead of America. How very imaginitave.

Yes, lets all mince words so we can obfuscate the true crappiness of this move by OI. Let's all just keep lying to ourselves so we don't have to criticize the great Lorne Lanning.

He created a pun/portmanteau that’s on the same word play level as Nolybab or Glukkon. We don’t even know if it exists in the Citizen Siege universe or was just a word to showcase a point.

I agree with Max. You're just taking a stab in the dark with your opinion of the movie (which we haven't seen even a preview of yet). I mean I thought the first Lord of the Rings film by Peter Jackson was going to suck, but after watching it, I was greatly impressed.

Anyway, 2009? Wow that sucks. Oh well. Aslong as it's good.
