Prey?
Up until today, the game seemed a lot like your average everyday Doom ripoff. But, today I downloaded the demo, and, since I finally have a computer nice enough to run the game on high, it really seemed excellent.
There was a beautiful introduction, the graphics were excellent, the puzzles were intuitive, and the combat was both visceral and enjoyable. There were also a lot of in-game cutscenes involving crazy people and posessed children. The thing that really caught me, though, was the mythological factor. The story goes that the main character is a Cherokee Indian living on a reservation, and he's lost his faith. He and his girlfriend were captured by AAAALLIIIEENNNSSS, and are stuck aboard this main ship. However, he escapes, while his girlfriend did not. So, according to what I saw in the demo, Tommy (the main character) has to 'find himself' spiritually, and visit the land of the Ancients, which is a really cool desert plateau area (not dissimilar from the Grubb city in SW).
It was a whole bunch of fun, and although I can see some of the gameplay getting repetetive, it just might be worth picking up. Is anyone else interested in this game at all?
