I beat NTL - it's a Mini adventure
Well, two months ago I handed in my notice, put a 'for sale' ticket on my Oddworld Encyclopedia Official Badge, and forewarned the entire Oddworld Forums community of my impending disconnection with NTL.
Well, here's the latest from your seemingly-resident Mug - NTL has cut us off the Internet, despite our request to recieve a free reconnection disk. Unfortunately, we still have to pay the evil corporate Glukkons for telephone calls and cable TV line rental.
On the plus side (and I know you've been waiting for this while you've been reading), I discovered the Lost Trinket of Connection, i.e. a CD that allowed us to register with FreeServe. I remeber stealing it from a shop (the Smiths aren't a family to pay for something with the word 'free' on it, and I'm half Smith, so "go genes!")
My mum, predictably, crashed the computer within minutes, so I took a well-earned (yeah, right) break from my homework to click that button, no not that one mum, MUM, NO! NOW look what you've done.
Anyway, we're up and running with a full access cookie dooda to the Web and Net, top Inter-whatsits, URLs, LOLs and all the other techni-babble.
So, I guess, you're stuck with me forever more. At least until we don't pay the FreeServe bills for a few months (yes, FreeServe should be fined for having a misleading name - evil corporate Glukkons that they are).
So, what does the future hold, now that I've swiped the price tag from my ID card, and jumped back onto my throne? I'd better change my signiture, for starters. Oh, and I'll need to update my account to accomodate my new email address. And, ah yes, there's the satisfying job of continuing my job.
Look out for my website, coming the instant I can put my completed plans online. NewCo News - your one-stop non-stop stop for stop-of-the-press heart-stopping news!
