Please help me, this is driving me INSANE!!

I cannot access the hidden Zulag in AE. You know the Zulag where you have to pull the lever to get the Mudokons down to ground floor, then you go down and the gas turns on, thus making the Muds go hyper and you have to guide them through the bottom screens, through all the closing walls and zappers (yes, I DO find that part annoying, but that's beside the point). Well, I read that, when you finally get them to the end and saved them (and getting the Shrykull power up), you must go all the way back left, along the ground floor, to a well at the end, jump in, land somewhere else and use the Shrykull power to destroy lots of mines. Apparently you access the hidden Zulag through here, with two extra Muds to rescue. However, when I locate the well, horror of all horrors, it doesn't work. I encountered this problem the first time I played it, so I just ignored it. However, this time I'm aiming to rescue all 300 Muds, and personally I find it very frustrating indeed. Can anyone help me?? I've tried pulling the lever again.... everything!

When you free the hyper Muds, there's a wheel which you have to turn to open a door. Just turn the wheel, but don't go through the door - that door leads out of the Zulag and bypasses the secret area.
Turning the wheel will make the well activate. You can then use the well to jump several screens up, and you will end up in the room with lots of mines and a door. After zapping them, go through the door. It leads to a secret area, even though it says 'Exit - No Return'.
