Trying to update my profile, as I'm not a student and I don't live in the library any more, and it won't let me without putting my birthday in. Now I happen to not WANT everyone to know my birthday, and I don't want to lie and make something stupid up.
Please turn the need for extraneous information off, Mr super-mod admin dude sir.
We require the birthday to be entered in for compliance with COPPA regulations. Basically, we need to know if you're under 13 years of age, and we do that via the Birthday field. While I know anyone can lie about their birth date, most users seem to enter in correct information.
Sorry, I know it may seem a nuisance, but I guess you'll have to lie.
