Cath

So... i'm very sorry to say that i can't continue writing on my story, Cath. Which is becouse that i didn't save it on a dokument, and the last back-up was from two months ago...

... nah, just kidding! :p I always save it on my word-dokument, so i'm gonna post the whole story again, and i wrote three chapters more. I would be able to write more this time OWF was gone..... but... :( Without OWF, there is no motivation... So here it is :)... I'll post the next three chapters, when iv'e got some replies.

Cath

Intro:
” She’s not like the others”

“But what should we do with her?”

The two vykkers leaned over the mudokon girl.

“I don’t know Harrison, she wouldn’t be able to lay any eggs.”

Harrison looked at the mudokon then sighed.

“Well, if she’s not good of laying any eggs, then what should we do with her, Olson?”

“Well, she must work like everyone else.”

Harrison wanted to say something but was interrupted by some noises from the mudokon girl.

“She is waking Harrison! Get her back to her cage, tomorrow she’ll work like any other mudokon, get a slig to tell her about it!”

“Right Olson! I’ll do that. But where should we get her?”

“Well, what about section T-60? They’re missing one of the slaves, she could fill the gap.”

“All right then.”

Harrison got the mudokon girl back to her cage.

Chapter 1: A new roommate

I woke up. The blood in my cage made me shiver. I remembered it as if it was yesterday. Well, actually it was yesterday when it happened.

Me and the mud I was sharing cage with where cleaning at the same hall. I was only five meters away from him. His name was Ferry, and always picked on me. Put strange stuff in my food. He had even pushed me into a slog cage, after that day I couldn’t go for a week. The fact that I hated him made go further away. He was much more strong and muscular than me, so I tried not to get contact with him. But apparently he wanted to get some fun. He came closer to me and slapped me across the face.

“STOP IT!” I yelled.

He only laughed and called me slurg. But this time he wasn’t lucky, just as he called me slurg, a slig came nearer and probably thought he said that to him. I quickly moved away.

“What where you calling me?” the slig asked him, in a threatening kind of way.

“Uhhh… Nothing. I swear it wasn’t to you.” Ferry said with a frightened voice.

“Do you really expect me to believe that?” the slig asked, “You there, was it to you he said slurg?”

He was asking me what happened. Now I knew that I had the power of getting him into trouble. I knew what the right thing was to do, but I hated him too much, so I lied.

“No… Me and Ferry where perfectly friends. Then he told me that sligs where slurgs and then said it to you. I tried to stop him.” I said, and looked scornful at Ferry.

The slig slapped me, and neared ferry. I turned around, and didn’t want to see what would happen. I heard some screams, and some running. When I turned around, I saw the slig drag Ferry into his cage. It wasn’t nice to see Ferry all covered up in blood, but I moved after them. I wanted to see what would happen. Well, I thought it was all over when the slig threw Ferry in his cage, but as foolish as Ferry could be, he called the slig a rotten bastard. I just walked away, I knew exactly that Ferry would regret what he just said if he was here today. When I was almost out of the room, the slig saw me.

“HEY! YOU THERE! Come here and clean this mess up!” He called.

I went back, and was almost going to scream when I saw Ferry. Actually it didn’t look like him anymore. It was just a bunch of blood and bones.

“But… What should I do with it?” I asked, almost whispering.

“What do ya think? Throw him in the recycler!” He said and walked away. Well, I threw the body in the recycler, but didn’t remove the blood, as it was bedtime. I decided to wait to the next day. I didn’t tell the other muds the truth.

Well, the next day I woke, I heard the other Muds talk together. None of them worked, they where just talking about the rumours. Some of them told me that an alien was going to work with us, while other said that Sam, the mudokon queen would come. But none of us knew exactly what would happen. I didn’t really want to get in trouble, so I just started working, which was clever of me, cause I saw some of the muds get beaten, because they weren’t doing their job.

A half an hour later, a BigBro called us together.

“Some of you may have heard the news, but in case you didn’t, then listen good. A new slave is coming to work with you, but it’s a Mudokon girl, so respect her well, and GET BACK TO WORK!” He said.

That was it. Mudokons went back to work, but then a Mudokon girl stepped in. She looked a lot different from all of us, but she was beautiful.

“YOU!” the BigBro yelled at me, “You’re going to share cage with her. And no dirty thoughts, if I catch you doing anything dirty with her, your going to deal with the meat grinder! UNDERSTOOD?”

“Yes sir…” I said.

Then he walked away, leaving me and the mudokon girl alone.

Chapter 2 (help me giving it a name):

At first, I didn’t really know what to say, I just blushed a bit, and looked the other way. But then the mudokon girl spoke.

“What’s your name?” she asked

“Oh, umm… My name is Daniel.” I answered, and then blushed again.

“Cool, sooo… Aren’t you gonna show me around?”

“Yeah, but what your name?”

“Cath.”

“Well, hello Cath and welcome to hell.” I swear I didn’t know where that came from.

“Err… excuse me?”

“Well, don’t expect this to be heaven, just don’t talk to the sligs, and they won’t talk to you.”

She rolled her eyes, I could tell from that moment that she didn’t really like me. Stupid idiot! I totally blew it.

“So, are you going to show me around or not?” she said.

“Yeah, ok, but there’s not much to see.” I said, rolling my eyes.

So I took her to the cells, where we where going to live. I could see on the expression of her face, that she had never seen any like it.

“What’s wrong now?” I asked irritated.

“It’s just…. All that blood… And am I really going to live here?” she asked.

“Yes, your going to live here. Since you don’t like it, how was it where you lived before?”

“Well, I had my own room, and there wasn’t any blood in it.”

“So basically, you’re just a spoiled kid?”

She rolled her eyes again, and just replied with a single no. I took her to the cafeteria, where we would eat. It was just a room, with two long metal-tables and some metal-chairs. The Vykkers and Glukkons wanted to save money, so they didn’t bought enough chairs for all of us. If we where too slow, then we had to eat while standing up. Then I showed her the area, rooms, and the meat grinders.

“I don’t know what your job will be, but God help you if you’ll have to clean the meat grinders. Many Mudokons has died while trying to do so.” I said. She just looked at them with horror.

Well, it was time to get back to work, if the sligs discovered that I was just slacking off, they would beat me for good. So I said bye to her, and began cleaning. When I looked back, I saw her talk to a slig.

One day had gone, and I was quickly to find out that the sligs had been spoiling her, just as I thought. She never worked as much as us, and her salary was much bigger. I don’t know why it turned up like his, maybe because she was a girl, and she was beautiful. I had caught the sligs looking at her, and her more private parts. I walked to my best friend. His name is Angel, and he had been planning to escape for a long time now. He had bruises all over the body, and some scars. He was the sligs favourite “toy”.

“HI ANGEL!” I shouted, and quickly shut up in fear of the sligs. Whoops, one golden rule was: Do not talk to other Mudokons.

“Oh, hi Dan.” He whispered. He couldn’t use one of his arm, which was all blue and brown. Well, someone had fun with him that day.

“Is everything ok?” I asked carefully.

“NO!” he said, while he let some tears get through.

“But what happened?” I asked.

“Well, try to look at my arm, and you’ll get the answer yourself.”

“Oh, I’m so sorry…Is there anything I can do?”

“Come with me, tonight, everything is so perfect. They will hold they the yearly party, and the coast will be clear.”

“I can’t”

“Why?” he asked, and let another tear go through.

Why? I didn’t really know why, maybe because I was a coward, and was too afraid of what would happen. But then I saw Cath at the other end of the hall, she was giggling of something. My heart began to beat faster.

“Oh… THAT’S why!” Angle said, “The little mudokon is in love. How cute.”

“Shut up! THAT’S NOT TRUE!” I said.

“But hey, it’s not my problem… When I get out, I’ll just laugh at you, while your in here where with your girlfriend, and getting beaten all day.” He said while laughing. Too bad a slig heard it. He came closer, and pulled Angel up.

“What are yer laughin’ at?” the slig shouted.

“N-n-nothing.” Angel said with fear in his voice.

“SAY IT! Or ya’ll get one good beating!” the slig said, and smirked.

I was almost going to panic. I didn’t want my best friend to get beaten up again.

“It wasn’t him! I-it w-was me.” I said. My voice was shaking.

“Really? And why do you expect to have the right of laughing?” the slig said.

“I… I don’t.” I said, looking at the ground.

“Just get back to work! Yer filthy mud! If I hear just one more sound from you, your dead!”

The slig walked away, hitting another mud on the back.

“See? If that was me, I would totally get one long beating.” Angel said.

I sighed, and walked away in silence. Then Cath came up from nowhere.

“Hi there!” she said.

“Why are you still in good mood?” I asked irritated.

“Is there anything wrong with that?”

“Yes!... This is not a place for mudokons to be in a good mood.”

She looked at me.

“Why are you looking at me?” I asked.

“Oh… I just think that you look cute.” She said.

“What? C’mon, don’t be silly.” I said, and walked away. She followed.

“You do.” She said, “I mean. There’s something about you that looks cute.”

“Well, congratulations.” I said, with even more irritation in my voice. But I couldn’t help smiling afterwards.

“WOW! What do we have here? Oh no, it’s a smile!” she said laughing. I laughed too.

Chapter 3

The next day, I woke up earlier than everybody else, well, except for Cath, who apparently wasn’t there. I stood up, and went through area T-60, but I didn’t find her anywhere, I sighed, and went for the cafeteria, to find a good seat. The meal was still half warm. I began eating until another Mud showed up.

“HI!” He said.

“Why is everybody suddenly in such a good mood?” I asked, rolling my eyes.

“Oh, I’m just happy that no one is here. Then I can relax better…” he said, and sat down next to me.

“What your name?” he asked.

“Daniel.” I said, and took a big bite of the meat.

“My name is Orad.” He said, and took a bite.

“So?” I asked, and finished my meal. Then I saw Cath walking into the cafeteria. She looked all dizzy.

“Aww, my head hurts…” she said, and almost falled down.

“What happened? Are you drunk?” I asked.

“No…. One moment I’m in the cell sleeping, the next moment I find myself on a metal-table.” She said.

“What? How did you end up there?” I asked, with curiosity.

“I don’t really know, I think it was the vykkers. But I don’t know what they did to me.”

“Maybe they did some experiments on you!” Orad said.

Both Cath and I looked at him.

“Well, we are in fact on vykkers lab…” Orad said, “We never know what they can do… Hey, have you heard that a mudokon was trying to escape?”

“Yes.” I said, and suddenly got worrying thoughts.

“He did?” Cath asked. She looked worried too.

“Yes… And yes, he will get the death penalty if he gets caught…” I said, irritated again. I didn’t like this conversation. It was good that Orad changed the subject.

“So, don’t you want something to eat?” Orad asked.

“No thanks, I’m not hungry.” Cath said. I believed her, because she looked like she was going to vomit. I looked around, then walked away and began sweeping the floor. Then it was just like nothing even mattered, my whole life I had suffered beatings and tortures. I had worked my ass off, and never got anything in return. I thought of my best friend. I hoped that they would kill him if they caught him, then at least he wouldn’t suffer anymore. No, nothing mattered. I could just go, steal a gun and shoot myself. But then I saw Cath coming, and right away it was like this little light had lightened up inside me. Something in me began to hurt, but it was a good kind of pain. Maybe this was what others would call love. Cath was an amazing creature. Her body forms looked so perfect. It was like they where too beautiful for this world. I had only known her for a couple of days, and I found out that those days was actually the most meaningful and beautiful days of my life.

Cath came over to me. She didn’t look happy. I knew why, it was never nice knowing that somebody kept experimenting on you. She just looked at me, she probably didn’t know what to say. Then I spoke.

“Hey, so… What are we going to do now?” I asked.

“I don’t know… ” she said, and looked like she was trying to come up with something. I had an idea.

“Why don’t you come with me at the roof? Then we could see the moon together. It’s hard to get there, because we’re not allowed anywhere outside area T-60.” I said, smiling.

“Sounds exiting.” She said, and couldn’t help smiling either. So we would be heading for the roof soon.

I went back to my cell, most of the Muds where awake already. The rest would be beaten up, if a slig found out that they where still sleeping. I asked some Muds if they had heard any news about Angel. But they hadn’t. So I went back to Cath.

“Lets go.” I simply said.

“Yeah, ok.” She said.

So we went down the hall, and to the upper floor, where we where still allowed. Then I went to the door, with sign that said “No Muds allowed. Any Muds seen will be shot.” Cath looked at the sign, and then took a funny expression on her face.

“Don’t worry, that’s just to keep us away, we’ll only get a beating if we are seen.” I said to make her relax.

“Yeah, like that’s any better!” She said.

Then I heard a familiar mechanical sound.

“HIDE!” I whispered quickly, and jumped in some shadows, dragging her with me.

“Not a sound.” I whispered.

The Slig lighted a cigar, but then some other sligs called after him, and went back. I quickly opened the door, and dragged Cath with me. Then we ran up the stair, and up, and up, and up. Nobody saw us. Good. Then I opened the door that led to the roof. I looked around, no sligs to see. Then I saw the beautiful moon that hang high over the sky. It was dark, as always. For some reason, it was always night. The sky was blue and violet. The sky was clear. I had always loved the sight of the moon, and the stars. I felt so alive. I could see that Cath loved the sight too. And guess what? We saw a falling star, we both wished something. I don’t know what she wished, cause she never told me. But I wished that I and she would be together forever…

Chapter 4:

Me and Cath had been looking at the moon for some uncounted time. But then I heard Mechanical legs, my instincts told exactly me where it came from. I took Cath’s hand and ran away, hiding behind a crate. The slig must’ve heard something, cause he moved closer. I almost didn’t breathe, as I slowly moved on the other side of the crate. The slig moved in that direction too, but then something unexpected happened, a slig showed up from the other side. This time my instincts had failed. There was two of them. It was luckily enough that we where in the shadow side of the crate, meaning that the slig couldn’t see us, even if he was only a meter away from us. I could feel Cath shaking. I held her tight against my body.

“I think I heard something Ned.” One of the slig said.

“Nah, it was probably just the wind.” The other slig said.

“No, I’m sure that I heard something.” Ned said.

“Ok, maybe it was just a bird or something.” The other slig said.

The two slig went away again.

“Phew, that was close.” I said.

“Maybe a little too close.” Cath said.

“So? The important thing is that we didn’t get caught.” I said, but I swear, if o could, I would swallow my words. I felt the pointy metal gun against my head.

“Said the mudokon.” A slig said.

I felt the fear rise. He pulled me out of the shadow, and Cath was pulled with. The slig got a funny expression when he saw Cath.

“You get one warning! Don’t ever come up here or your dead! UNDERSTOOD!” The slig said.

“Yes sir.” I said. The slig pulled me and Cath towards the door. We quickly ran down of it, and back to where we should be. From that moment I noticed something. Whenever I was with Cath, I could get away with stuff, easier than normal. If I just stayed close to Cath, I was protected. I don’t know why the slig had this respect for Cath, but it was good anyway.

But that wasn’t the reason that I felt close to her. No. It was her, Cath, the mudokon girl. I just wanted to feel her body against mine, her lips against mine. Yes. Sometimes I just felt like saying to her that she was beautiful, that she was the most amazing creature on the world. That she had made my empty days full again, that she had awakened the happiness in me that I never existed. But there was just something that held me back. Every time I looked at her, or when she looked at me, I felt that weird pain. Some kind of pain in my heart that alerted: “Here comes the beauty itself.”

I had sleepless nights, where I just thought of her. Some nights, I wanted to embrace her, telling her that she had the most beautiful body ever. Coward. I truly was a coward. Sometimes I just wanted to slap myself, pull myself together, and tell her what I had on my heart.

My thoughts were interrupted by some sligs that came in. Something had happened. They dragged a mud with them, it was Angel. My Heart sank, as I knew exactly what would happen.

“NOOOOO!” I screamed, and began to get tears in my eyes. I could see that Cath looked sorry too.

“Someone here thought that he could escape. But it turned out that he couldn’t” one of the sligs started to say, “Now, what happens to mudokons that tries to escape?”

We all knew the answers.

“C’mon, you really don’t know?” he asked.

We did, but no one wanted to get involved.

“Well, maybe that’s why this stupid Mud, tried to escape.” He said.

Some Muds had tears in their eyes.

“So, no one wants to guess?” he asked.

Nope, no one would.

“Well, fine, then I think I’ll have to demonstrate it. Watch closely.” He said.

Well, it was over for Angel. The slig beat the Mud again and again and again. He shot Angel, in his leg and arm, and hit him on his wounds. Angel tried to run away, but the slig caught him again, hitting him the mouth. Angel spitted some broken teeth out. I couldn’t just watch my best friend get beaten up like that. I was desperate, my thoughts weren’t clear, and then I just jumped at the slig, hitting him in the face. From that moment, I don’t remember what happened, only finding me in my cell, all covered up in blood, and every inch of me hurt. I saw Cath lying next to me. She was wiping the blood of me. I couldn’t move. She cried. I felt all guilty, that I made her cry. I shouldn’t have hit that slig. I tried to p

Open my mouth, but it hurt too much. I felt my teeth if they were hole. None of them were broken. I was desperate. I wanted to know what happened to Angel. And as if Cath had read my mind she spoke.

“I’m sorry, but… Angel is death…” she said.

Then the tears just flowed out of my eyes. I hated my life. I wanted to die. But I couldn’t move, so I just fell asleep. I don’t know when I woke up, but once again, Cath wasn’t there.

Chapter 5:

I looked desperately for Cath for hours. One big luck that no one slig noticed that I wasn’t doing my job. My body still hurt. Then I saw her coming again, drugged like the last time she had disappeared. I ran over to her.

“What happened?” I asked.

But she didn’t answer. It was like she was in a trance of some sort. It was those damn Vykkers. I shook her a bit.

“WAKE UP!” I yelled. One single slig looked, but saw Cath and looked the other way. Then her eyes lightened up again.

“Aww, my head…” She said with a dull voice.

“What happened?” I asked once more.

“Those vykkers. I was just walking around, and then I saw two vykkers coming. I tried to hide, but the saw me, and said I had to go with them. But I didn’t want to, so they drugged me and took me with them.” She explained.

I really didn’t know what to do. I decided to keep an eye on her, and see what this mysterious thing was about.

“But what did they do to you?” I asked.

“I don’t know. But I have this tattoo on my arm see?” She said.

I looked. S455.

“HAHA!” I said, “Stupid, that’s just your slave number.”

“No, not there silly. It’s written with smaller letters.” She said.

I looked at again. EP3795. EP was for experiment. Well, that wasn’t hard to figure out. She was after all a female mudokon.

“It seems like they like to do experiments on you little girl.” I said.

She got a more serious look on her face then. It must’ve felled awkward for her that somebody kept doing experiments on her body.

“Let’s go and eat some breakfast.” I said, just to change the subject.

“Yeah… Let’s do that.” She said.

Then we started walking. I looked at the clock. It was really early. I wasn’t tired at all. Then we arrived. She just ran over and took one of the plates, which was filled with food. It was still warm. She started eating.

“Hungry, eh?” I asked, teasing.

“Shut up.” She said with her mouth filled with food. I took a plate too. It tasted a lot better when it was warm. I saw Orad coming.

“Hi!” he yelled.

I just waved, Cath just ignored him. Orad neared us.

“Hi, what’s your name little girl?” Orad asked.

“Why do you wanna know?” She asked stubbornly.

“Don’t be so hard on him.” I said.

“My name is… Jane.” She said.

“It’s Cath.” I said. She punched me with her elbow. It really hurt, but I guess I deserved it.

“Uuuh, ok. But I think I’ll go now, I have some work to do.” Orad said, and gave a weird look at Cath. Something wasn’t right here. No, I don’t know what was wrong with the situation. It was too early for work. Not even the sligs had awakened. He had acted weird, I could hear on his voice he was up to something. A lot of weird stuff had taken place since Cath got here, and I decided to find out. Then I looked at Cath. She looked at me with an angry face.

“Never tell my name.” She said.

“But what’s the matter?” I asked.

“I don’t trust him.” She said, and sighed.

“HEY! Wanna go to the roof?” she bursted out. It came as a surprise. But the temptation was too big.

“Yeah, why not.” I said.

Cath sat up, and washed up the plate. We could go to the roof without being seen, cause the sligs weren’t awake yet. There was only the ones that only worked at the night. But they weren’t here at area T-60. They guarded more important places. We ran over to the stairs that went to the roof. She giggled. We got to the roof. It was the same beautiful sight. The forest which lied far in the horizon. The sea to the west. Sometimes I just wished I could touch it. Touch the wet sea, the big trees. Sometimes when I looked at the horizon, I got this urge to just escape from here and run towards the horizon, far, far away from this lab. I wished I could just fly away, and then I was just floating in the air. I really thought I was flying, until I saw the ground come closer to me.

“Shit.” Was the only word I got to say before I hit the ground. Then I heard Cath’s scream, from the roof, and I lost consciousness.

Chapter 6:

I woke up in an empty grey room. I was lying on the floor. The most of my body was bandaged. I tried to pull myself up, but I noticed that my hands where tied together. Where was I? I didn’t remember how I fell of the roof, and did not know how I survived that fall. Then some minutes later I heard foot steps. A vykkers stepped in, and my heart sank. They were horrible. Sligs were horrible, but vykkers were worse. I hated their horrible presence, their horrible smell and their horrible voices.

“S7699, we need to talk.” the vykkers said. Two sligs where standing next to him. They pulled me up. That hurt really much. I couldn’t stop yelling.

“Easy.” the Vykker simply said. The sligs held me up.

“I don’t know what is weirdest. Is it that you just jumped of the roof, or that you survived it?” the Vykker said amused. What? He thought this was fun? I was nearly dead, and I didn’t jump of the roof. I tried to loosen the sligs grip, then they just let go of me, and I fell down the floor. That hurt.

“Stop it now. You can play with him after this. But now I need things cleared up.” the Vykker said. Well, I just had to bite the anger inside me.

“Look, I don’t know how I fell of the roof, or how I survived the fall. I don’t know more than you.” I said, annoyed.

“Oh, but you see. We have another problem here. Why did you get up to the roof? You know that’s it’s not allowed for Muds.” The Vykker said. Well, he got me there. I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t find up a story that was better then the truth.

“I umm… I just wanted to enjoy the sight.” I said. But I could see on the Vykkers expression that it was hard to believe me. But it also sounded a bit suspicious.

“You know what? I don’t believe you.” The Vykker said, and gave a sign to one of the sligs. The slig hit me hard.

“But I’m telling the truth!” I said, trying to hide my pain and tears. The slig hit me again. This time I couldn’t hold my tears back. A satisfied smile widened up on the Vykkers face.

“But can’t you just understand that I just wanted to enjoy the sight?” I cried, “It’s only a roof. Nothing important is able to do there.” I continued.

He looked at me, examined me for what seemed like hours.

“Right…” He said. It seemed he believed me at last. But it was too late. I couldn’t say anymore, the pain was just too much.

“So… You tell me that you didn’t JUMP of the roof? But S455, also known as Cath told me that you just walked towards the edge, and just fell down.” The Vykker said.

I was silent. I couldn’t get myself to say anything. I knew that I would just burst out in a cry.

“I’ll get back to you later, and by then I want an answer. I’ll leave the sligs here with you to see if they can squeeze a little more information out of you.” The Vykker said and left.

Then I was alone with the sligs. I closed my eyes. They just stood there starring at me. They didn’t really do anything. I just lied on the floor, looking at them. I watched them, paying attention to ever little inch they moved. It was horrible, not knowing what they had in mind. Then one of them spoke.

“What did you do on the roof with Cath?” The first one asked.

“Nothing. We where just enjoying the sight.” I said. My voice was shaking.

“Yeah right. I told you that if I caught you doing anything dirty with her, you’d deal with the meat-grinder.”

“But I didn’t. I swear.” I said nervously. The slig hit me, and once again I got tears in my eyes. They just laughed at me. I tried to move away from them, but it didn’t go well. They pulled me up again, and walked out of the room, and stopped by a meat-grinder. My herárt was struck with fear.

“NOO! PLEASE DON’T!” I yelled. I tried to get away from them. But the more I fought, the more it hurt.

“Well, you could tell us the truth, and then maybe we’ll spare your filthy life.” the sligs said.

“But I did tell the truth! That’s what really happened!” I yelled. The sligs moved me closer to the meat-grinder. I was only a few inches away from it.

“He’s useless.” one of the sligs said, and then he knocked me out.

I didn’t know when I woke up, but once again I found myself in the empty room. My hands where still tied up. I tried to get them free, and after some time, it really succeeded. My hands where free. This felt great, until I saw something that wasn’t supposed to be on my hand. It was a new tattoo. EP53397. I starred at it for what seemed like an hour.

“Shit!” I said.

I had been in that room for hours. I thought I was going crazy. But then I heard footsteps, a key, then the door opened. I saw a slig, and my heart sank, but it went away. Then Cath stepped in. My heart lighted up.

“OH! You’re all right! Oh my odd, I’m so happy that you’re all right.” she said, and then hugged me. That really hurt, so I let out a little scream.

“OH! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know that hurt.” she said worried.

“No, it’s all right.” I said, and sat down. She still looked worried.

“But what happened? You just walked towards the edge, then you jumped down.” She said.

“That’s what the sligs thinks too… But I was like in a trance. You know, the freedom was just so close. The sea and the forest. I wanted to reach it, and then I don’t remember what happened more.” I said. Cath took my hand. She looked like she wanted to tell me something, but then she saw the tattoo. She got a shock.

“You?” she asked almost afraid. I didn’t want to talk about it.

“Yes.” I said, rolling my eyes. She examined the tattoo a bit.

“But why?” she asked.

“They probably think it’s a bit weird that I survived that fall.” I said.

“Well, you did fall from a long distance. Anyone would die from that. How did you survive?” she asked. That was too much.

“I DON’T KNOW! OK? I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING! WHY DOES EVERYBODY WANT’S TO KNOW HOW I SURVIVED?” I yelled. Cath remained silent and shocked. Then some tears began to fall.

“I’m sorry Cath. I’m sorry I yelled. But it’s too much. Everyone just keeps asking the same questions.” I said. She didn’t look at me nor did she say anything. Then I gave her a hug. Even though it hurt a lot.

“Thanks for being a good friend.” I Said. She looked at me, and smiled a bit.

“Visiting time’s over!” a slig just came in. Cath went out in silence. Then the door slammed. I tried to open it, but it was locked. Now, I could only wait to see what would happen to me.

Chapter 7

I was walking down the lake. It was a sunny day. The sky was yellowish. Then I saw some big mountains before me. I ran towards them. But somehow, it seemed like they just got longer away from me. I got mad, and ran towards them, screaming in anger. But I never reached them. I stopped. The sky was almost pink over the mountains and the mountains themselves where violet. There were 7 of them. One was higher than the other. I wanted to reach them, cause it was like there was something special about them. Then something far away came towards me. No, it was someone. It came closer, but I wasn’t able to see who it was. It was the size of a Mudokon. I thought it was Cath, so I ran towards her. But as I got closer I woke up in a grey and empty room. I had a bad headache. Then I realized that I never had been down that lake, and I had never seen those mountains. It had just been a dream. But still, it seemed so real. I got angry, and smashed myself into the door.

“OPEN!” I screamed. It was enough. I wanted to get out of here. But then I heard footsteps.

“Shut up in there!” I heard a slig say.

I sat down on the floor, waiting. If someone didn’t get me out of here, I would go crazy. I saw a bug in the wall. Strange. It was yellow and green. How could a bug get in here? I examined it, and then it seemed like… It was examining me. I reached for it with my hand, but then it flew away. I tried to keep an eye on it, but it was too fast. Then I couldn’t see it anymore. I looked for it, but was nowhere. Great. I WAS going crazy. My headache got worse. I almost got a shock when the door suddenly opened. The Vykker stepped in, followed by the two sligs. I moaned and turned the other way.

“Hello. Well, I’ve made some tests on you. But I still can’t find the reason why you survived the fall.” the Vykker said.

“HA! Maybe it was because I didn’t fall. Now get out!” I said, but knew it was a bad idea as the sligs gave me a warning look.

“Continue like that, and you’ll find yourself falling of the roof again.” he said with a smirking look. I rolled my eyes. He made some tests on me? Without me even knowing? I hated him. If I had a knife, I would throw it through his neck.

“Why are you even wasting your time on him, Boss? He’s nothing but a normal filthy Mud.” One of the sligs said.

“I’m interested in him.” The Vykker said with a hidden smile. Did he know something I didn’t?

“Look, I’ll send you back to T-60. But I’ll get back to you later.” The Vykker said and was on his way out of the room. But then he said: “Ivan, would you please escort this Mud back to T-60? And please change that silly name.”

The Vykker left the room.

“There is nothing wrong with my name…” the slig said to himself, but realized that I was listening and hit me on the back. I fell down on the floor. Then he took my arm, dragging me back to T-60. Ivan WAS really a silly name. I got back to my cell, where Cath was doing nothing than just starring into the empty air.

“BUH!” I said, and she got a shock.

“DAN! Arrgh! Don’t scare me like that!” she said angrily. But then she softened up a bit.

“Your back.” She said, smiling a bit.

“It was a nightmare. You really go through that?” I asked.

“Not really. I just get a non-locked room. I can always go out, have something to eat and stuff.” She said. Well, the truth was that she really was a spoiled kid.

“I hate them. I want to die, if they don’t” I said, and bit my upper lip. She looked at me with serious thoughts.

“Don’t say that. It’s the worst thing to do. It’s like giving up.” She said.

“So? Is anything worth anything anymore? I could die right now without anybody even caring.” I said. Cath stood up and looked at me with an angry face.

“NEVER say that! You sound horrible when you talk like that.” she said shaking me.

“Well, the truth is horrible isn’t it?” I said, and turned away. I didn’t want to look at her. She reminded me of all the good stuff that I would never experience.

“LOOK AT ME! What is wrong with you? It’s like you just changed. Why are you like this? What about the roof, isn’t the sight worth seeing?” she asked.

“Screw the roof.! You’ll never be there anyway. Don’t you get it? We are slaves! S-L-A-V-E-S! Nothing can change that. Slaves are worthless, therefore we are worthless.” I said, still not looking at her. I knew that everything I told wasn’t true, but the more I talked about it, the more I believed in it. I took a quick glance at Cath. She had tears in her eyes.

“DON’T SAY THAT! That’s what they want us to think. You really let them get you that easy? What happened to the guy I knew? The one with a bright future? We will get out of here. We must!” she said. I could clearly hear on her voice that she was about to cry. I just walked away. It was my fault. I shouldn’t have made her cry. I wanted to say that I’m sorry, but then I’d loose the case. I didn’t know why, but I didn’t want to believe her. I ran away, as far I could get. But with my bad luck, I ran into Ivan.

“Huh? What are you doing here? Get back to work!” He said. I looked at him. His face looked so weird, like the other sligs.

“WHAT? Why are you starring at me? Are you gay?” Ivan asked threatening.

“What? No!” I said and tried to run away, but he caught me.

“Where are we going today? Maybe to Meat-grinder land! HAHA! Ain’t this funny?” he said, and punched me into the stomach. I felt pain, and screamed.

“Yuk! I don’t even wanna look at you.” he said, and threw me on the floor.

“Gay…” he mumbled, and walked away. Stupid slig. I felt the urge to hit somebody. Then I just hit the wall again and again and again. My hand hurt, and it bleed, but I kept hitting the wall. Then I went back to my cell. Cath was still there.

“Hey…” I said. She looked at me but didn’t say anything.

“I’m sorry… I can see that you’re right.” I said. Then she looked away.

“I shouldn’t have said all those things. I’m truly sorry.” I said.

“No, I understand. I know that I don’t go through what you do. But please don’t say those things anymore, because they aren’t true.” She said. I knew she was right.

“I want to get out of here, but I don’t know how.” I said.

“What? You mean escape?” she asked.

“Yes, that’s right. I can’t stay here any longer. I don’t want to. It’s better to be dead than being here. What do you say? Do you want to come with me?” I asked.

“But it comes so suddenly.” She said.

“No it doesn’t. You know you want to. Every Mudokon from here wants to get out of here. Even you.” I said

“But I’m afraid.” She said.

“Don’t be, if we can put a plan, then I think that everything will be ok.” I said, cheering.

“But you saw what happened to… You know.” She said. It hurt just to think about Angel.

“Look, we will get out of here. And I think I know how.” I said. But I knew that I didn’t. I didn’t have a plan good enough. But she seemed like she was with me.

“Are we going to do this?” I asked. She smiled, which I took as a yes.

Chapter 8

I ran downwards the field. It was filled with violet and orange flowers. I picked up a flower. It had a sweet smell. I took one of the petals and ate it. It tasted really sweet.

“That’s a Canel flower. A flower which has been used by mudokons for years. It’s medical.” an old Mudokon said. I turned around, he seemed familiar.

“Who are you?” I asked. But then a dark cloud came over the field. Darkness took over the sunny field. Then I saw vehicles. They were burning a village, which had just appeared. Mudokons where running away in panic. The village burned down. Mudokon babies were crying, shouting for their parents. Then further in the scene, something took my attention. The VioletMountains were standing proud far away. I looked for the old Mudokon, but he had disappeared. Then everything just went normal again. The cloud, village and the mudokons had disappeared too. Then I found myself in front of a big brown gate. Signs and mudokons skeletons had been carved into the gate. Then I pushed the gate, but as I touched it, I woke up in my cell.

I was sweating. I looked around, my heart beat fast. Then I saw Cath.

“Shh…” She said, “You were making all kind of weird noises when you were asleep. Did you have a nightmare?”

“I… I don’t really know. It didn’t seem much like a dream either.” I said and scratched my head.

“Uhh… What did you dream?” she asked. She looked worried as always.

“I don’t know… Everything was just so complicated. The one moment I was on a field with an old Mudokon, and then next there was these sligs burning a village. There were screaming Mudokons everywhere.” I said, and stood up. I looked at the clock. It was early, and no one had awakened yet.

“Was that all?” she asked.

“No. In the end of the dream, I was before this big gate with signs and mudokon art carved on it.” I said. Then I walked out of the cell, and to the cafeteria. Cath followed me.

“A big gate? Where did it lead to?” Cath asked, and took a plate with food. Boring, boring food.

“I don’t know, I woke up just as I touched it.” I said, but got surprised when I saw Orad coming in.

“Hmm, having weird dreams lately?” Orad said, laughing.

“What are you doing?” Cath asked angrily.

“What? I couldn’t help overhearing your conversation. It looks like your sleep is being haunted. HAHAHA!” he said. Both Cath and I looked at him, as if he was stupid.

“You’re such an idiot.” Cath said. That didn’t look like it affected Orad. He was just smiling. Then he took a plate and began eating. I took on too, and moved as far away as possible from him. Then I began eating. But I kept having this feeling that he was staring at me all the time. But whenever I looked back at him, he quickly looked elsewhere. He really deserved some beating. He was really annoying.

“Lets beat him up.” I whispered to Cath.

“Nah… That would be a bad idea.” She said. Then just like that, Orad went next to us.

“So, how’s it going?” he asked.

“Go and annoy somebody else, or you’ll deal with my fist.” I said.

“OOOH! I’m sooo scared.” He said, and looked like he was scared. Then he just began laughing.

“No serious… That gate you saw in your dreams leads to an old Mudokon temple, but is forsaken. Have you ever been there before?” Orad said.

“OR! It could also just be a normal gate.” I said rolling my eyes. Cath didn’t know whether to laugh or to worry.

“Look, I know what I’m talking about. Before I got prisoned here, I studied a lot about the Mudokon history. Can you tell me about the gate?” Orad asked.

“NO! And leave me alone! Stupid idiot.” I said, and walked out of the room. How could he know that the gate I saw really existed? He couldn’t, he wasn’t there to see it. Maybe he thought about another gate. But it was disturbing to think about. Then I saw Cath coming out. Without saying a word, I went out of T-60, and the usual way to the roof. She followed. The sight just had a strange effect on me, it relaxed me. I just kept staring out in the air.

“Now you don’t fall down again!” She said, and smiled.

I smiled too, without saying anything. Then a couple of sligs came. And there was no crate to hide behind. Just as I was ready to run away, they saw me.

“Cath? What are you doing here?” they asked.

“Oh… umm… Nothing, just enjoying the sight.” She said. Then we slowly walked past them, and ran down the stairs. Then we got back.

“Back eh? Where have you been? Some Vykker asked for you two. You’re in some serious trouble. Hehehe.” Orad said. He was right. Well, I just went back to my cell, where some of the Mudokons were still asleep.

“Where’s the chick?” One of the mudokons said. It was Ark. He was an OK Mud. But I didn’t talk to him much.

“Don’t call her a chick!” I said. Then I saw her come in.

“I don’t want to go back.” She said.

“Go back where?” Ark asked. I didn’t answer him. But as I heard familiar footsteps of a Vykker, I ran out dragging Cath with me. We ran down to another door. It led to the downer floor. We ran down. Some sligs had seen us, and began saying things like freeze and huh? Then some of them began running after us, and some even shot. But we kept running. Then I saw a ledge.

“Jump!” I yelled. And we jumped. Then the sligs looked around confused.

“Where’d they go?” they asked. Then we walked away, and were focused on everything that moved. I heard the mechanical sound of a slig. He saw us.

“FREEZE!” He yelled. But then I ran towards him, and knocked him out.

“What a wuss.” I said. I took the sligs gun. Then we walked back, and pointed the gun on the sligs.

“Don’t do that!” Cath said.

“Why?” I asked.

“You’ll attract attention.”

I sighed, and then I walked back to where the slig was. I looked around, but then the alarm started. This wasn’t good. I saw Orad running towards us. That couldn’t be true, how did he find us?

“Hey! Wait for me! You can’t escape. Not without knowing the way out of here!” He said. There was something wrong here. I couldn’t trust him.

“Go away.” I shouted.

“We don’t need your help.” Cath said.

“Well… Then you’ll get lost.”

I pointed the gun at him.

“Go, or I’ll shoot you.” I said threatening.

“What are you doing?” Cath asked.

“HA! You wouldn’t dare!” Orad said. I pulled the trigger. Then I rolled my eyes.

“Whatever, you can come with me. But we are not going your way, cuz I don’t trust you.”

Then I walked further down the path. Then I saw three doors. I scratched my head.

“Door three.” Orad whispered.

“And we are going to door 2” I said, smiling scornful at Orad. He got a serious look on his face.

“Ok… Door 1.” I said. Then he looked a bit relaxed. I took Cath hand and opened door 2.

“But-“ he said.

“No but! I decide where we go! You can go to door 3 yourself if you want so.”

He followed. I knew he was up to something. Then I found the elevator.

“Wow… We could just go into the elevator.” Cath said, and so we did.

“Don’t go! There are cameras in the elevator, and they’ll see that we are escaping.” Orad said. There was something in his voice that made me be even more stubborn.

“Look, I don’t trust you. We are taking the elevator. They already know that we are escaping.” I said, pushed Orad out of my way, and I walked inside the elevator. Cath also came in. But Orad stayed outside.

“Your decision.” Orad simply said.

The Elevator reached the bottom, where the exit would be. The door opened, and ten guns pointed at us. The elevator was surrounded by the sligs.

“Is this supposed to happen?” Cath asked.

ok, here's the next chapter. I hope you still enjoy reading it :)

Chapter 9ffice:office" />

We didn’t move, it would also be stupid if we did. It was lucky that my gun was behind my back, or I’d be defenceless. Then I heard someone come. It wasn’t one but two vykkers who had stepped in. They looked at me, and then at Cath, mostly they looked at Cath. She seemed stressed. Then one of the vykkers sighed.

“I’m so disappointed with you. You are really not happy? I mean we respected you, and where nice to you.” he said. Cath moved a bit as if she was embarrassed. This was weird, they where really nice to her?

“I’m sorry… But I can’t stand those experiments. I liked it here. But that stopped when you drugged ffice:smarttags" />me.” She said strictly. WHAT? She really liked to be here? I looked in surprise at her.

“Now you are coming with me. Both of you will be dealt with.” The other Vykker said. I had to act quickly. When the Vykker approached, I quickly took my gun, and pointed it at him. He got both surprised and scared. I could see it on him, but he tried to remain calm. I enjoyed this moment. Then took him and held the gun at his head.

“Let us out of here, or your dear boss will die!” I said, and smirked. Cath seemed relieved.

“I don’t think you’d dare.” The Vykker said.

“Oh really? I’m sorry, but this is very serious. And I’d really like to get my revenge. Even though I’d die in the action, so I’d suggest that you’ll let us out of here.”

Cath just looked at me. The Vykker looked at me angrily, and then he closed his eyes.

“Do as he says.” He said. I smiled satisfied. The sligs led us to the exit, I still held the gun at the Vykkers head. Then I dragged the Vykker outside. I didn’t want to let him go that easy, cuz he’d just send some sligs after us.

“I want a vehicle.” I said.

“Then I’ll make some sligs send it to you.” He said angrily. I laughed.

“No, cuz you’d just send a broken one or something like that.” I walked to the hangar, where the flying vehicles where. I saw the AirFloaterX400. It was one of the newest models.

“I want that one.” I said.

“You don’t know how to use it.” The Vykkers said. Well, he was right, so I was thinking what else I could use until Cath finally spoke.

“I do! Olson… Don’t you remember that you showed me how it worked?” she said smirking. She knew this guy? There was a lot I didn’t know about cath. The Vykker once again looked defeated. There was room for three in the vehicle. Cath took the pilots seat. I got in it with Olson, as his name apparently was.

“Get in!” I said. He did so. I couldn’t believe it. I was finally free. Cath was concentrated on the ‘road’. Then she landed somewhere in the desert.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“We are running out of fuel.” She said. GREAT! Now we were in the middle of nowhere.

“Great… Now you’ll get us both killed. Scrabs are running in the wild here, and if we are really unlucky, we’ll meet a fleech.” Olson said. I hit him, and he fell on the ground.

“Shut up.” I said. It was feeling great to be the one with power. He got up again. All the time, Cath had been flying to the east, where the forest was. I looked for a compass inside the floater. I found it.

“We are going to the east.” I said. Cath seemed to agree. Olson just rolled his eyes. So we started walking, ignoring the heat. Then I realized that I had forgot to take food and water with me. I didn’t say anything, I just kept walking.

Well, we did great until Cath noticed we didn’t have any food.

“DAMN!” She said, “We don’t have food or anything.”

“HA! The mudokon made a huge mistake huh?” Olson said. I pointed the gun at his face.

“Maybe we should just eat you.”

“EEW!” Cath said. I laughed, but got serious again when I saw her face. She wasn’t happy at all.

“We need something to drink and eat.” She said and looked at me.

“I’m sorry, but don’t have anything.” I said.

“Look, I suggest that we just walk the same direction. Then we’ll probably find some water or something.” I said. None of them seemed think that it was a good idea, but they couldn’t come up with something better. We started walking again. I could clearly see that Cath was sweating. Olson had his usual cold face on. He seemed like nothing cared for him. But maybe something did. I don’t think anybody could live without caring for something.

So, it became dark, and the luck grew again. We saw a cave which went down, under the ground. It was perfect. We went down. But my stomach growled. I was getting hungry, and so did Cath and Olson.

“I wanna eat.” Cath said.

“Yes, but it is not possible.” I said, and went further into the cave.

“But I’m hungry.” Cath said after a while. I turned to her again. It was hard to see her face, cuz there was not much light left. Then I turned around again, and got almost scared when I saw a shape in front of me. Looked back, both Olson and Cath was there. Then I turned around again. The shape was still there. It was about 5 meters away from me.

“Hello? Who are you?” I asked. I got no respond.

“Who are you talking to?” Olson asked. I pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger. I would never get tired of doing this.

“Look at it yourself, and stop talking to me.” I said. I looked at the shape, it didn’t move. I went closer to it. Then I felt something pointy against my throat.

Yay! ^_^finally a reply. Hope you enjoy, and if anyone else reads this too, then you could also leave a post. WOO! 10 CHAPTERS!

Chapter 10

“Follow me.” I heard the shape say. It had a rough and old voice. He moved further into the Cave. I heard Cath and Olson follow me. The shape knew this place well, cuz he never stopped once to think where he should turn. After a while, I saw light in the end of the path. The shape became more visible, and soon I could see that it was Mudokon. I sighed briefly. I was so happy that it wasn’t some slig. Then we reached the exit. I looked out, this seemed to be paradise. There was a field, with grass, forest and a lake. I just stood there with open mouth, I couldn’t believe it. Freedom was what I felt. The Mudokon saw me with the gun in my hand, and got a fear in his eyes.

“Oh… This is just to keep the Vykker under control.” I said. The Mud seemed relieved. But he still looked at the gun with caution.

“Hello, my name is Cath. Who are you? And where do you know this place from.” Cath asked. The Mudokon looked at Cath with surprise, he hadn’t really noticed her until now.

“You are a Female. It’s an honour to meet you. My name is Nakl We don’t Meet female mudokons much. The last one I knew was Sam. She got caught by the Industrialists. She looks a lot like you.” Nakl said.

“Well, she is my mother.”

“Really? But then it means that you were born in the industrial world. How did they let you get away?” Nakl asked. But then he saw me, my gun and Olson. I seemed like he understood the situation.

“Hello, my name is Daniel. You look familiar.” I said.

“Well, you already know my name. Who is that Vykker?”

“His name is Olson, and he is an evil bastard who deserves to die.”

Olson seemed insulted. I looked scornfully at him.

“Nobody deserves to die. Everybody can change.” Nakl said. That was also what I had expected an old granny to say.

“I ain’t changin’. Go on, kill me.” Olson said. He seemed like he had lost the will to live. I was even more satisfied. Then he could see what it was like being me. I raised the gun.

“NO! Put that down.” Nakl said, “We aren’t shooting anybody.” He raised his spear. I rolled my eyes. Why couldn’t I get some fun?

“No, seriously. Don’t kill him. That would only approve that you’re one of them.” Cath said. I lowered the gun. Nakl seemed pleased. He smiled.

“I’m sorry, but we are very thirsty and hungry. Don’t you have anything to eat?” Cath asked gently.

“Of course, of course. Follow me, and I’ll show you to my hut.” Nakl said. So we went down a road into the forest. The trees were beautiful. We went a long time, and turned a couple of times, to different ways. Then I saw the hut. It lied there between the big trees. There were pink flowers around it. An Elum was enjoying the grass nearby.

“Oh hi Gismo!” Nakl called. Gismo would be he Elum. The Elum growled gladly and went to its owner. Nakl patted him on the back.

“AAW! He’s so cute.” Cath said. She patted Gismo on the back. He seemed to like it, and growled happily.

“Hi there fellow.” I said to him. Gismo looked at me. I ripped some grass off, and gave it to him. He ate it happily. Then he saw Olson and made a funny howl. Then he ran behind Nakl.

“BUUUH!” Olson screamed. Gismo seemed even more scared. Nakl looked at him angrily.

“HAHA! That Elum is so stupid. STUPID ELUM! Bleeeh!” Olson said, laughing evilly. Gismo didn’t seem to like that, so he ran right into Olson, and pushed him on the ground. Them Gismo made some funny growl, which would seem like laughter. Cath, Nakl and I laughed together. Olson stood up again. He looked angry and humiliated. If he had a gun, I’m sure he would kill us all right now. Well, we got inside where bread and meat was put on the table. Meeps actually taste good. I loved it. And the bread… MAN that tasted good. Not like the yucky food at the labs. Olson seemed to enjoy it too, although he didn’t want to admit that he liked it. That was the best meal I had gotten in years.

“Thank you sooooo much!” Cath said, “It tasted so good, that I’d do anything to eat it again.”

Nakl just blushed and said thanks. Cath smiled.

“I loved it too. It’s the best meal in years.” I said, smiling. Of course Olson didn’t say anything.

“I’m very glad you all like it.” Nakl said.

“Not everyone.” Olson said. We ignored him. Nakle came with some water and four cups. We all drank it. The water tasted clean. I felt so happy and lucky. That I finally escaped from the industrial world, and that I was finally free. I looked at Cath. She looked at me. I couldn’t smile a bit. Olson looked at us in disgust.

“If I had some sligs right now, they would beat the hell out of ya!” he said. I looked Olson.

“HA! But you don’t. And if I want to, I could just shoot you, and then it’s over with your pathetic, sweet life.” I said. Olson seemed really angry. He was obviously not used to get treated like this. Cath didn’t do anything. She seemed stressed with Olson in her presence. I didn’t think that she would ever calm down when he was there. I wondered what he actually did to her. Nakl didn’t like this. None of us did. But Olson seemed to enjoy it.

“When I get the chance, I will torture you to death. Then I will feed the rests of you to the slogs. You’re a pathetic slave, nothing else.” Olson said scornfully. That really made me angry. I jumped at him, hitting him in the face, until Cath ripped me off him.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? Stop it!” She yelled. I wiped some dust off me. Olson, remained at the floor. He looked at me. Then he smiled, and burst out in a mean and cold laughter. Something that Vykkers are really good at doing. I took my gun and hit him with the end of it. He lost conscious.

“Stupid idiot. Can’t I just kill him?” I asked. Both Cath and Nakl shook their head and said no. I didn’t understand it. Why would they want to keep him alive even if he was mean and evil? I looked at Olson. I pointed my gun at him, and made a fake pistol sound. I wished that they would just let me shoot him. I took the gun at my back, and went out for some fresh air.

Well... I used to write one/two chapters a day before the forums whent down. I usually takes me from a half an hour to two hours, depending on ideas and stuff... Sometimes when i run out of ideas, i just sit down thinking. Then they come. Anyways, when the forums went down i wrote three more chapters, 9 and 10 is one of them. Then i stopped writing cuz i didn't have any motivation, since the forums were gone. So i post a chapter everytime someone posts. Oh well, here's the 11'th chapter Enjoy peeps.

Chapter 11

The next day, I woke up with a shock. Because that Olson was yelling as high as he could. He was tied to the bed. Aww man, he was really annoying.

“NO DON’T! I’m up!” I said as I woke up. It was an old habit. Whenever some slig shouted at me that I had slept too much, I got scared and afraid. Olson started to laugh. His cold and mean laughter made me shiver. Then Cath woke up.

“SHUT UP! I DON’T WANNA GET UP NOW! Ten more minutes.” She mumbled. Well, that must’ve been her old habit.

“Oh my dear, you have to get up, it’s morning, and you have to get ready for your work.” Olson said. Then Cath threw her pillow on Olson’s head.

“Shut up! Let me sleep.” She mumbled. Olson shut up. Maybe the pillow was all that was needed to make him shut up. Hurray for the pillow! I Got up, and untied Olson. Then I realized I didn’t have my gun. I looked for at my side of the bed, where I had put it, but it wasn’t there.

“Missing something?” Olson asked. I looked at him. Then I thought I knew where it was.

“Have you taken it?” I asked?

“Of course not… Why would I do that? How COULD I? I was tied up all night.” Olson said. I looked at him, and then I helplessly threw my hands in the air. Nakl got in.

“Oh, I see that you’re up.” He said, “But just so you know, I took your gun. Guns aren’t allowed in the Mudokon city.” What? Mudokon city? Was it true what I heard?

“A city?” Olson asked interested. He must have forgotten that he hated Nakl for a moment.

“No. It’s not what you think it is. There are no high buildings. And there are no lights. It’s a big village, which is too big to be a village. No electricity at all. So sorry, it’s nothing for you. But I’ll let you come anyway.” Nakl said.

“Nah… I think I wanna stay here. C’mon tie me up.” Olson said.

“No, you’re coming with us.” Nakl said. That was really clever from him, cuz we couldn’t know if he was up to something. So we ate breakfast, which consisted of bird eggs with bread and Meep-milk.

“Man, you’re a really good cooker.” Cath said and smiled.

“Thank you.” Nakl said, “Oh and by the way, I’ve borrowed two more Elums. We’ll have to ride to the Mudokon city.”

“Well, there are only 3 Elums, we are four. So I’ll have to stay here.” Olson said

“No. You’re gonna ride with Cath.” Nakl said. I had really expected that he would say me, but Cath? He must have been mad.

“I don’t think it’s such a good idea.” I said.

“If You and Olson ride together, you’ll probably just get in a fight. If he rides alone he’ll get away. I have to ride my own Elum which hates Vykkers. So Cath is our only solution.”

Well, he was right about that. Olson looked at Cath. She shivered. I felt sorry for her. Olson smirked. I wished I had my gun right now. We went outside where the three Elums waited for us. I went to one of the Elums.

“Hey there.” I said and patted it on the back. The Elum gave a pleased growl. I mounted it. Nakl mounted Gismo. Cath mounted the third, and helped Olson up. She rolled her eyes. Olson stayed tight to Cath. I hated him. I was jealous at him. That he got to stay close to Cath. I tried not to look at them.

“Ok, you press the Elums on their side when you want them to ride. If you want them to stop, you lean backwards. To make the Elum move faster, you lean forwards. You pull the Elums neck in direction you want it to move. If you have trouble with your Elum, just ask me.” Nakl said. Both me and Cath understood. Nakl’s Elum started running, then I pushed the sides of my Elum, and so did Cath. They both started running. I leaned a bit backwards to slow down. Now it was perfect. It was wonderful riding the Elum. I felt the fresh air against my head. I briefed relieving. Cath seemed to enjoy this too. Olson seemed to hate this. Well, that was his problem. We soon arrived what Nakl would call the MudokonCity. It was a village. With smaller or bigger huts. Some of them even had Two or three floors. That depended on how rich the owner was. There were small and cute shops all over the place. Some took Moolah. But the most of them took corns, animals and other useful stuff to trade with. I saw two Mudokons come nearer. They both had Spooce Bows.

“Hello Nakl!” One of them said.

“Tom! Kim! Hello!!” Nakle said happily.

“How is it going? It has been a long time ago.” Tom said, and embraced him.

“Well, I can’t tell that now, it would be too much to tell. Ah, you have to Daniel and Cath.”

“Hi!” I said. And so did Cath

“Hey! You’re a female mudokon.” Kim said, “Who’s the Vykker?”

“Oh. He’s not native, he is our prisoner.” Nakl said.

“Should we take care of him, or are you taking him with you?” Tom asked.

“What? Who are you? I can take care of myself.” Olson said.

“We are a few of the many guards in this city, so if you get in trouble, you’ll deal with us.” Kim said.

“Hmm… I think I’ll take him with me.” Nakl said.

“Ok well, bye. We have to go back to our duty.” Tom said

“Bye” Nakl said. So we hitched our Elums in a barn for Elums. Then Cath saw a little shop, and ran over to it.

“Aaaaw man, those are cute!” She said. I looked at the stuff. It was small dolls. There where Elums, Scrabs, Paramites, Mudokons and one single Female mudokon.

“Do you want something?” The Mudokon asked friendly. Cath looked at the stuff. It all looked very cute, but she realized that she did not have anything to pay with.

“No, I’m just looking.” She said.

“We’ll take that Female Mudokon doll.” Nakle said. He took some corns from his pocket.

“Nah, the lady gets it for free.” The Mudokon said.

“Oh thank you so much.” She said, and gave him a smile. I rolled my eyes. Everywhere we stepped, she just had to be spoiled. She took the doll. It looked very cute. Then we walked furtherer. I was getting hungry, so we went to a food-shop. I looked at the stuff. The was all kinds of stuff, from bird to cakes. I ordered grilled bird. It tasted very good. Cath ordered a cake formed as a heart, and Nakl ordered a green cake. I didn’t ask about it. Olson didn’t order anything when he found out that they didn’t sell Scrabcakes or Paramite pies. Then he took us through the city. Then we stopped up by a tower. It didn’t look like a tower from the industrial world. It was made of tree, and looked very primitive. We stepped in. It looked weird, and instead of taking the stair up, he went down, through a hole. Cath, Olson and I followed. Then we went through a tunnel where there was no light at all. Soon we heard him stop. Then he opened a door, and light streamed in. It was a big cave room. There were 6 sitting places, 3 on each side. Then there was one in the middle. Torches where lightening the room, giving it all kinds of scary shapes. Then in the end of the room, I saw a room. Nakl opened it with a key. Then we stepped inside. 3 Mudokons where sitting in there, doing nothing. Then they quickly looked at us, when they heard us come in.

“Oh hey Nakl! Who are the fellows?” they asked.

“Oh, This is Daniel, Cath and Olson. Olson is not native. He is our prisoner.” Nakl said.

“Oh, it’s a female Mudokon.” They said.

“Hi! I’m pleased to meet you.” She said.

“Me too. My name is Aslin, and this is Nemo and Nilah.” Aslin said.

“So, why did you take them here, to the secret meeting place of the Shamans?” Nilah asked. He had a violet skin, and a red feather.

“That is kinda private” Nakl said.

“Ok, then we’ll go into a private room.” They stepped into another room, and closed the door. So it was Cath, Olson and me left.

“Haha, they are probably talking about how to sacrifice you to their god.” Olson said.

“Shut up!” I said, and hit him. Then he jumped on me, and hit me in my face, then I hit him, and we just struggled against each other, while Cath yelled at us. Then after a while Nakle came out, finding us hitting each other.

“Stop it! Now!” he yelled.

We stopped.

“He started.” Olson said. I was about to protest, but I realized that he was right. I got off him.

“Such an immature behaviour.” Nakl said angrily, and shook his head, “Dan, I’ll have to see you in private. I have something important to talk with you about.”

Yay! A new chapter. Well i'm sorry to keep you waiting. But my father uses the computer all the time, soi don't really have much time write. He has some work to do. But here you go, chapter12. It's shorter, but nothing to do about it.

Chapter 12

I was in the silent room, sitting down on a stone, formed as a chair. Nakl looked at me.

“Hey! NOW I know why you look so familiar.” I said, “I had this weird dream, and there was this Mud looking like you.”

“Ehh… That Mud WAS me.” He said. I looked at him.

“What?” I asked.

“I have tried to reach you through your dreams. See, that’s why I need to talk to you.”

I looked at him, not believing what I just heard.

“You have something inside you that, can give you a power, which not many Mudokons have.”

I just kept starring at him.

“Look, if this is some kind of joke, I really don’t think it’s funny.”

“It is not a joke. Not at all. I’m a shaman. Something not every Mudokon can be. We shamans preserve the peace, and keep things in balance. It was just a matter of time, to find you, before the industrialists would find out about your power. If they did, they would try to fool you to turn you on their side, so they could use you, and your power.” He sighed and continued, “So my fellow Shamans and I, want you to join us, to help us preserve the peace and balance. For you power is greater than all of us together. You just have to learn to use it.”

I tried to think it all over, but it was just too much information at once.

“So, what is this power?” I asked.

“I do not know, I just got this vision, of you. Sithilla sent me the vision. She somehow knew that we would meet. I got the job to send you to the Mounts of Vindith which lies in the deep south of Oddworld.” He said.

“Yeah right, and now you want me on your side… Haha… You’re just like the industrialist, trying to use me… haha…” I said, and went out, only to find the three mudokons wrestling against Olson. Cath just sat there and looked at them. She cheered on the Mudokons.

“Go Aslin! C’mon Nemo!” she yelled.

“What is going on?!” I shouted.

“Nothing, Olson just started to insult the Mudokons, and then they asked him if he wanted a beating. Then he said that he could take all three down.” she said.

Nakl looked at me in a sad way. I tried not to look at him.

“Look you don’t have to join us if you don’t want to, but please just go to the mountains, and meet the goddess, Sithilla. She will answer your question.” Nakl said.

“All right,” I said stubbornly, “How do I get there?”

“Well, you’d need some weapons, because, not only Scrabs and Paramites are living in the desert. But animals and beasts that are much stronger,” he said.

“Yeah, but I have my gun.” I said.

“Ok, but what about bullets, there aren’t many left in that gun. I’ll get you some weapons,” he said, and walked away.

Then I heard some creams from Olson.

“Aargh! Yeah all right! Let go of me.” Olson screamed.

The wrestling stopped.

“Hahahahaha!” The Mudokons laughed.

Cath looked at them, and seemed pleased. Then she turned to me.

“So what did you and Nakl talk about?” Cath asked.

Then I told her everything, and she listened with interest. Then Nakl came back with a dagger, a spear and a bow.

“Well, I don’t know your combat skills, so you should choose your weapon.”

I chose the Dagger, cause it was light and easy to use. Cath quickly looked at the weapons, took the bow without asking, and admired it. Nakl then gave it to her, and walked to the other Mudokons, to talk to them.

“So I see you prepare for battle, or what?” Olson asked.

“None of your business,” I said.

“So, are you exited?” Cath asked me.

“Well, I think we should just settle down somewhere. I mean, we’ve just escaped from that lab. We have no home, no money, nothing,” I said.

“Well, we could ask Nakl. Maybe we could move into this Mudokon city.”

“I don’t know.” I said.

Nakl looked at me, still disappointed. But I didn’t want to risk anything. Just because he thought I had some kind of power, didn’t mean that I had to use it. I didn’t really believe him anyway. But still, there was something that made me wanting to go.

“So, what are you going to do?” Nakl asked. I got a shock, because I didn’t see him come.

“I don’t know, but Cath and I would like to get a home first. Where could we possibly settle down?” I asked.

“The only place you could live in is the Mudokon city. They welcome strangers. Never go into an unfamiliar Mudokon village. They don’t trust anybody. If you step in the wrong tribe, you could get killed. Some are more tolerant than others. But if you absolutely want to move to a small village or tribe, you could be lucky enough to meet a Mudokon from one here. Many Mudokons travel here to trade, sell and buy. There is this special place where they like to meet. It’s called ‘The Flying Meep’, where you can buy drinks, and rooms to sleep in.” Nakl said, “But inform me when you are ready to travel to the mountains. I will wait here for you, when you’re ready to go.”

Chapter 13

Cath and I had found a hut to live in. We didn’t have anything valuable, but a very generous Mudokon bought the hut for us. We never saw him again. But still, we needed valuable items to get stuff and food. Cath asked me to get a job, and fortunately, I got one in ‘The Flying Meep’. I only cleaned up the bar. But that wasn’t important. Anyway, I found out that Mudokons do use some kind of money. There were these special rocks of some kind. I had never seen anything like it. They told me that it was very rare. The bar itself wasn’t very big. It had a long bar-table with 7 chairs. But it was cute anyway.

Cath wanted me to save money for an Elum. The Elums we had travelled on were after all not ours, but some that Nakl had borrowed.

Cath and I had been in the town for two weeks now, and we experienced good times. I had almost forgotten about my past in the slavery, and had moved on. I was still thinking about what Nakl had told me, but for some reason I didn’t want to go. I didn’t really know what to do. But it felt so nice here, that I decided not to go. I was at our little home. It was nice. It had two rooms. A bedroom, and a livingroom. Cath sat down in a chair and wrote in her diary, which I had bought for her. She was very happy for it, and she gave me a kiss on my cheek when she got it. It warmed my heart. Well, it was time for work, and I went to the bar. Liah came and said good day. Liah was the boss of the bar, and we were already friends.

“How is it going? I heard that many mudokons will come tonight. To the show, you know.” Liah said.

Everyone had heard about the show. Some very famous Mudokons would come. But I didn’t really know about any Mudokons that would come. Liah told me that a lot would happen tonight. Some of the Mudokons, who would be in the show, were great warriors, who had fought against the Glukkons without a single defeat.

“But remember to clean this place, because I’ll have a lot of costumers tonight.” Liah said and smiled. So I started cleaning, and making it all look like it was new. A mudokon stepped in, he was obviously drunk.

“Where is Thinder?” he yelled.

A Mudokon stood up.

“Oh, I’ve been looking so long for you. Now you’ll come here and finish what we’ve started.” The mudokon yelled.

He was angry. The other Mudokon, whose name was Thinder, remained. I could see that he was scared. The Mudokon went towards him, and pushed him on the floor.

“Help!” He yelled.

I looked at them, not knowing what to do. Thinder quickly stood up, and ran to the other corner. The other Mudokon took a bottle, smashed it on a table, and then threw the remaining part against Thinder. The other Mudokons quickly ran out. Thinder then ran behind me.

“What are you doing?” I asked. But I could hear how stupid that sound. I look at the furious Mudokon. He came towards me.

“Get out of my way, or I’ll teach you a lesson,” he said.

I couldn’t just leave, so I decided to protect Thinder.

“What’s the problem?” I asked. I couldn’t think of anything else.

“He has to die,” the Mudokon said, and walked closer, as me and Thinder moved further away.

“He’s nuts! He’s been after me since the last month. I didn’t do him anything!” Thinder said.

“Go home. This Mudokon hasn’t done anything against you.” I said.

“WHAT? No one tells ME what to do! Now you must die too!” He yelled. This Mudokon WAS nut. I didn’t move. Then He ran towards me, with his fist tightened up. I dodged his attack and Ran away from him. But he followed. Then I turned around, and just as he was about to hit me, I hit him. Then Thinder hit him, and he fainted.

“What was all that about?” I asked.

“I don’t know. About a month ago, he just ran towards me with a bat in his hand. He’s a maniac.” He said, and walked home.

I cleaned the place up again, and then I walked home too. This city was weird.

When I got home, Cath wasn’t there. SO I sat down, and waited for her, but then I fell asleep.

I lay down in the grass, looking at the stars. Then I felt something touch me. But I couldn’t see what it was. It was too dark to see anything. I tried to stand up, but I couldn’t. Something was holding me down. Something was holding my arms. I looked at them, and saw something slimy holding my arms. It was something that went straight from the grass, the around my arms, and down in the grass again. My heart started beating faster and faster. Then, the slime stretched out on my whole body. Only my head could move now. Then I couldn’t do anything then start crying. I didn’t feel the slime against only my body, but inside me aswell. I could feel it. It was searching for something.

…where is it …

I heard something say inside me. But it wasn’t my thoughts. It was someone, or something else.

…not now, it’s too soon…

Then the slime crawled away, and down into the grass again.

I screamed, and woke up, realizing that it only was a dream. But it couldn’t have a been a dream. It felt so real. I saw Cath coming.

“What happened?” she asked.

I shook my head and answered: “I don’t, but I’ve been having one of my disturbing dreams again. They are terrible. What should I do?”

“I don’t know. Maybe you should speak to Nakl.” She said.

“No. I don’t want anything to do with him.” I said. Maybe I was just too afraid of the truth. Maybe to afraid to find out what was happening? But I knew that someday, I’d have to speak to him.

Hm.... I really think this chapter is weird... But it makes sense :) ...i think..

YAY! Replies! That means that poeple do read my story.... umm... thing... Anyways, enjoy:

Chapter 14

It was time for the big evening. A big stage was set up in the middle of the town, and Mudokons began to gather around the stage. It was half-dark. I was there too with Cath. She was so over-exited about it.

“I wonder who those mystical Mudokons are? Everyone knows them. They say that these Mudokons are big warriors or something,” she said.

“Yeah, I know,” I replied.

After a short minute, there were Mudokons all over the place. They were happy. Suddenly, a Mudokon came on stage, and spoke:

“Dear Mudokons, Tonight we have a special visit from a group. Not a normal group, but THE group. It is the ones who haven’t experienced one single defeat from the Glukkons. They have fought the Evil, and Glukkons fear them. Welcome them, for they are our Guardian Angels. Welcome to Hirnissa, Nescar, D’rehhnar and Andriel. They all come from the southern Mudos.”

The four Mudokons came on stage, and all Mudokons started to applaud.

“Hello everybody! We have come here tonight, to tell our story and our deeds. We have travelled over the whole Mudos, and we have ruined many Glukkon-factories on our way. Abe was a great warrior, but he has failed his quest, and we have chosen to follow his path, and do what is right. We will finish what has been started.” Andriel said.

“Who’s Abe?” I asked.

“I don’t know. I think it was some old Warrior who was chosen to free the Mudokon race, but he has failed his task. I heard the Vykkers talk about it, and that they feared, that a new saviour might be born,” Cath answered.

I listened to The Mudokons tale about how they destroyed the Glukkons factories, and freed the slaves. Every other Mudokon listened too, and they applauded from time to time, and cheered. Then I felt someone point my shoulder.

“Hello Daniel. Enjoining the evening?” It was Nakl who had spotted me.

“Umm… Yeah, it’s quit interesting to hear about them,” I said.

“Yeah, they think that they can end the terror against the Mudokon. Glukkons do fear them. Abe was their hero when they were small. You probably don’t know about Abe. He was the chosen one to save the Mudokon race. He was chosen by a god, who could see that everything was unbalanced. I don’t know who chose him. But he was the greatest hero of them all,” said Nakl.

“But how did he fail?” I asked.

“He was on the mission, the final one to free all Mudokons. He wanted to destroy the place where Maggie was. Maggie was the queen of the Glukkons. But he never got out. Some says that he got killed, while others say that they still hold him as a prisoner. Anyway, he’s too old to do anything now. His fail has cost us bad consequences. But These Mudokons have made a good job.”

I looked down. I didn’t know what to say.

“But can I ask you something? Why haven’t you come to speak to me?” asked Nakl.

I sighed. I knew exactly why. I was a coward.

“O don’t know. I guess I was just too scared. But the problem is that I feel I have to go. But I don’t want to. I was having some weird and disturbing dreams lately. The last one was about a slimy thing. It felt like it searched for something in side me,” and so I told about my dream.

“But the thing is that I don’t think it was a dream. I mean when you dream, you think it is reality. But as soon as you wake up, you realize it is a dream, you know it is a dream. But this dream, didn’t feel like dream. It felt like I was somewhere else. I felt like someone brought me there, as I was sleeping. Then it brought me back as I was waking.” I said.

“Yes. It has used the same method as I. Maybe it was a little different one. But it sounds really bad. An only well-experienced shaman knows how to access ones dream. And even so, he will not be possible to do everything he wants. There are only limited actions you can do in another’s dream. So this must have been another technique. I don’t know what this creature wants with you. But it seems like it looked for something you don’t have yet, and it seems like it knows you’ll gain it once. I think I know what it looks for. I think you know too. You must travel as soon as possible to the Mounts of Vindith. It is serious,” said Nakl.

I looked down. It seemed like I had no choice.

“Ok I’ll come tomorrow,” I said.

“Ok,” said Nakl, and walked away.

Then I looked up at the Freedom Fighters again.

“…and then we beat the slig, and stole his gun. We freed the Mudokons, and went to the executive office, where the Glukkon, Margoshj was. He begged for his life, but we shot him. Because he could not do anything to make it all up again,” said the Mudokon, Nescar.

Once again, the Mudokons cheered and applauded. Cath Applauded too, she had obviously not listened to Nakl’s and my conversation. I applauded too, only not to be rude. Then in the middle of the chaos of happy, cheering Mudokons, everything went like in slow motion. Something was watching me, and I immediately turned my head to the right. Another Mudokon looked at me, not a normal one. He had dark-grey skin, and red eyes, whose lens was a black vertical line. He ran away, and I automatically ran after him. I ran past the cheering Mudokons, and stopped by the park, where no living soul was. Every Mudokon had gone to the big stage. I looked around, the Mudokon was gone. It was like I had seen it before. I turned around, and got a huge chock, as I saw the Mudokon appear before. He started to examine me, and smell me.

“What are you doing?” I asked angrily, and stepped a few steps backwards.

But the Mudokon just growled, and I wasn’t even sure it was a Mudokon. It acted completely different from a Mudokon. It made some weird noises.

“You’re a freak, go away from me. Or tell me what you want,” I said irritated.

The Mudokon growled louder. It opened its mouth, and to my surprise, it had sharp teeth. It was defiantly not a Mudokon.

“Umm…. But I think I’ll leave now, ok?” I said, and started to walk away.

But the thing ran towards me, and jumped before me, to block my way. It growled furiously. Then it walked around me, on all four. It didn’t dare to move. This was defiantly not a Mudokon. It was wild. An animal! I was afraid that if I made a surprising move, it would jump right at me, and take my life. But I started shaking. I didn’t know what to do. Then it caught my eye contact. I looked straight in its eye. It’s big red eye, with the vertical line as a lens. But it didn’t only look me in my eyes. It hypnotized me! I fell down on the ground, and fell into a long sleep.

I was in a ruin of some sort. This time I knew it, I wasn’t asleep, but just somewhere else. Statues were lying all over the place, which looked like some sort of creature that walked on two legs. It’s was a lot different from a mudokon, it had long and pointy ears and small eyes, with vertical line as the lens. They had two arms on each side, with three long, unnatural fingers. There was one statue placed in the middle of the room, holding a spear. The others were placed around it, looking at the one in the middle. Just by the feet of the statue in the middle, was laying an amulet. It was a symbol which I had never seen before. I had never seen these creatures before, and I didn’t know if they even existed. I didn’t know what I was doing here at all, only that it could mean trouble.

Yes, i know.... How meen of me to stop here... But i guess i'm just meen :p

Surprize, surprize! New chapter :D! Feel free to comment, and give feedback :)

Chapter 15

I had been there for like… 10 minutes without anything happening. But those Statues freaked me out. They looked horrible. I didn’t really want to meet them. Then I looked at the amulet, which was lying by the creature’s feet. I took it, and looked at it. But then suddenly, I heard a rumble. One of the walls side was falling down. Or a bit of it did. Then a door became visible, behind the wall. I looked at the amulet, and then at the door. Then I realized how stupid I was. But then I focused on the door again, and opened it. Then I felt a big pain for a split-second, and woke up on the street. Saw Cath looking at me. My cheek hurt.

“Oh sorry if I hit you too hard, but you where acting really strange in your dream, and I slapped you,” said Cath, “Why were you sleeping on the streets anyway?”

“I uhhmm… I don’t know. OH YES! Now I remember.” And so I told the story about the scary Mudokon, and the weird dream, which wasn’t a dream at all. Or so I thought.

“Hmm. that sounds creepy. Maybe someone is after you. Anyway, Nakl told me that you wanted to leave tomorrow or something. You… weren’t planning to go without me. Were you?”

“Of course not. I would never leave you, even if I could choose between the whole world and you,” I replied, but then I could hear how desperate that sounded. But Cath only giggled, and then we went home.

I lay in my bed, but I didn’t know if I should sleep in case of any disturbing dreams again. But I couldn’t stay awake for long, and fell asleep.

I woke up, and was surprised that I had just dreamed normal. Cath was already up, and she had prepared for our journey. She had also made breakfast. Was this womud wonderful or what?

“Well, I didn’t want to wake you up, you’ll need your rest for the travel,” said Cath.

“Your wonderful. But what about you? Why aren’t you still asleep?” I asked.

“I just couldn’t sleep anymore.”

We sat down by the table, and started eating with pleasure. When I was done, I took my plate and washed it. Then I looked at Cath. It was time to leave. Time to leave the Mudokon-city.

“Well… We still need some Elums.” Cath said.

“I think we have just enough money, for two Elums.” I said.

“Good, we’ll buy the cutest ones.”

“Um… I thought that we’d need the fastest ones.”

We arrived at Nakl’s place where the Hero-Mudokons, Andriel, Hirnissa, Nescar and D’rehhnar were. I stopped up for a second, and was surprised to see them here. Then Nakl came.

“Hello. Welcome,” he said.

“Umm… what are they doing here?” I asked.

“This is where they are going to sleep. Oh, and you are going to travel with them, to the Mounts of Vindith. They are going the same way as you, and they want you with them.”

“Umm, ok. Weird,” I said, and went to the Mudokons.

“Hello, my name is Daniel, I’m pleased to meet you,” I said.

“Hello, we heard that you’re going the same way as us, although we’ll split up at the Mounts of Vindith. We know that there is a Glukkon-factory not too far away. But we will not dare to enter the mountains, and if you heard the rumours going around about them, you wouldn’t dare either,” Andriel said.

“It gives me shivers just thinking about them,” D’rehhnar said.

I looked at them. I didn’t really know what to say. Then I thought about a question I could ask.

“Who’s Abe?” I asked.

They all looked at me, as if I was stupid.

“Remember, he just got away from a factory, he wouldn’t be able to hear about him.” I heard Nescar whisper to his friends. I felt a little embarrassed.

“Well, you see. Abe was this Mudokon, he was born in captivity, and he like his life there. But then he found out that the Glukkons wanted to make the Mudokons into food, which scared him really much, and then escaped. He saved all his buddies on the way, because he thought it would be a pity to let them die there. When he got out of the factory, he fell down from a cliff, smashed his head, and died. But then the shaman, Bigface came and revived him. He told him that he was the chosen one to free the Mudokon-race from slavery. He tried really hard, and he did free lots of Mudokons. But then one day he decided he wanted to put a stop to the industrials. He wanted to kill Maggie, and destroy the Magog cartel. But he just never returned. No one knows what happened. We all still have the big question in our hearts. What happened to Abe? We don’t know. Some believe that he died, while others believe that he is kept as a prisoner. Someone also told me that he turned evil.” Hirnissa said.

“Thank you,” I simply said, and turned around. I got my fear back. What would happen to me on my journey? Would I get killed by the Glukkons? But my inner thought got interrupted by Cath’s voice.

“Hello! MY name is Cath. I’m coming with you. Pleased to meet you all. When are we leaving?” she asked.

“Well, soon. Now actually. We were just waiting for you two. Do you have your Elums ready? And your stuff?” Andriel asked.

“Umm… Right… Elums. Well, we were just going to buy some.” I said.

“Then hurry. We must go as soon as possible.”

“I’ll just wait here.” Cath said.

I mumbled and then went away. I went up to the Elum-store, where all kinds of Elums were. Some were shorter, some larger.

“I need an Elum that is good for long travels,” I said to the store-keeper.

“How many, my good Mud?” he asked.

“Well, two,” I said.

“Ok, we have these well-trained Elums here. They’ll cost you 20 Reave-stones each.”

I gave him the stones.

“Well, congratulations with your new Elums,” he said

“What are their names?” I asked.

“The One you see there is called Refty and the other is called Glow. Be careful with them, and treat them as friends. Elums has feelings too,” He said, and patted one of the Elums on the Back. It growled pleased.

“Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind.” I said and took the Elums with me. When I got back to Nakl and the other, Cath screamed in surprise, and kept talking about how cute they were. She took Glow as her Elum. Then I had to take Refty. He seemed strong for an Elum.

Me and Cath had just packed our food, and things we would need, as it was time to leave. I said goodbye to my friends, and explained to Liah, that I couldn’t work at the bar anymore. He was a bit sad, but then I told him, that I would be back someday and would be able to work again.

Then we mounted our Elums, and left the Mudokon city. I made sure that I had my dagger, which I had named Scarch. I kept looking back at the city until it was only a little spot on the horizont.

"She took Refty as her Elum. Then I had to take Refty" I don't get that line! On the other hand, a great chapter, write more!
