ok fresh topic...and new method of drawing things for me. Teal and I where discussing how we draw our pics last night and she gave me some tips. This is the first full pic I have done utilizing Teal's advice...and considering how it came out...I might just stick with it! Thanks Teal!

Oh and this pic is another first...the first pic of Dementa with out her feet hidden! Whee!

Wow, that's lovely! Very effective shading. Everyone's going to be bugging poor old Teal now and trying to extract drawing tips from her!

basically she told me to do a very general outline of the character first...before going into alot of detail. You see before I was drawing everything at the get go...going from the head down. give me a few and I'll post a couple of examples.

Edit: here we go.
The stetch on the top right shows how I used to do pics...starting at the head and going down, putting most (if not all) the details in on the way. (BTW the other stetch on there is Malice, well both pics are Malice technically...I just gave up on the other one...)

This one I have started putting the details in after drawing the whole character as an outline. You can see where I had 'seperated' the different areas of the body, drawing them each as a seperate shape. You can also see where I kept repostioning that right hind leg(the dragons). (BTW this one was a 'practice' one...I might not finish it.)

ok, Teal got me on the emote bit again so I made some, Drakkic style this time. (actually I have been wanting to make some Drakkic ones...just have been lazy...*sigh*)Only got five so far...

*ahem* Anyway new character...(and a new fic idea to go with her...*groan*). She doesn't have a name...and she won't have one for a while.



She's a miserable Drakkic...her parents hated each so much that they killed each other when she was only six months old...and she been on her own ever sense...

And yes he is going to be in an Oddfic...just not for a while the way these fics of mine are going...*groans* Oh and I plan to try to do a colored version...will be tricky as he is gold and bronze in color. And Metallics are always tricky for me to get right....

To me, an Avatar is a mortal who directly serves a major god. (ie: Thinatokos works for Staros, God of the Cosmos) They have special abilites given to them by the god they serve and tend to live at least twice as long as their 'normal' counterparts.

Think of an avatar this way: It's an image that represents something. Apply that to a creature and you have one who has this trait. For example, Mikos, my griffin represents honor and Tempest represents Glory, as Mikos is the most honorable creature and Tempest has experienced many victories in her day. (Get it? Honor and Glory crowning time... Tempest and Mikos are DA's allies? Never mind) But anyhow, I think of an avatar as being a... symbol or embodiment. Yeah, what Drag was saying...

I think that's a very good piece of colouring considering metallics are hard to do on a paint program. Keep up your good work!
