when animals die

There was a little nest with birds in my back yard. Today I went to look and the baby's had fell out of the nest ants where swarming on them. I fell bad for them. have you ever lost an animal before. when I was about 7 years old we had a cat named axl he ran out of the house one day and when I went to the bus stop to go to school the next day I had found him. He had been run over by a car.

First and foremost losing a pet IS a great strain... whether it be a dog, cat, eel or rat. As humans we tend to humanise the animals around us (there's a word for it... it slips my mind... your challenge if you wish to accept it I guess! ) so to lose them is like losing a friend or even a family member.

Everyone deals with loss in a different way... some of us like bounce back after a day or so... others feel the need to weep readily for months after... not one way of coping with death is right or wrong. Eventually the pain will subside though... sharing your thoughts, pain and feelings is the first step to healing... don't be ashamed of feeling the way you do, you are not alone.

I really believe that those we are close to can still be with us for the rest of our lives... we can "feel" their presence. I'm unsure whether this is their spirit or ghost or whether its just situations reminding us of them but either way... those kinds of comforts are sometimes very important in recovery

Oh that's so so sad. Yes I have lost several animals, it's unavoidable when you have pets.

Sad Yep.

I've lost lots of animals, since I used to breed Gerbils. Sometimes when we had baby gerbils, I would find them dead with their heads bitten off (Paints a picture, eh?). I've lost two rats, one very dear to me, and several fish, I think...
Yeah, losing pets sucks, but you need to remember the fun times you had together.

I've lost a dog and a cat, and now I keep seeing these dead cats on the road and even a kitten.

I've lost two cats. One of them was hit by a car and had to be put down. And the other was hit by a car twice! And was fine...strange. But he ran away in the end. Hundreds of fish, but who cares? And a rabbit who ran away. A load of guinea pigs because they killed each other. And a dog who we had to give away because he was a total pshyco... Ha! I pray for those poor suckers who have that dog right now. And for all those lost animals, may their souls find peace in the afterlife.

The death of a pet that was the worst for me, was of my cat Smokey a few years back. I'd grown up with her [she was about 2 years older than me] and one day when I came back from school my Mum told me she had been put down due to cancer of the stomach. I still miss her now

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God.

I've had a few hamsters that have died. It didn't really upset me, but I did feel something.

However, there are worse things. Once there was a sparrow hanged from our tree.
Someone had put twine around it's neck and tied the other end to our tree. I don't know how (or why) they caught the sparrow, but it was sickening to see a dead bird (neck broken) in your front garden.

Sometimes, I hate people. Not all people, just the ones I know
