How deluded do you have to be...

to think that the "rebuilding project" in Iraq isn't a colossal failure? I"m on a Lutheran campus that is dominated by Bushies and cheerleaders for the Right. Every single one of them defends The "war" in Iraq and says we're doing a bang-up job in Iraq. Oh really? Over 600 casualties, 4 times as many as the early stages of Vietnam, and over 6000 wounded is a bang-up job? It's also baffling when they defend the "rebuilding" project. Over 4,000 civilians dead, 90 percent unemployment, less than 45 percent of the populus has access to electricity or water, diseases like typhoid and dysentery are on the rise and 3 million are starving and in abject poverty. Let's also not forget about the hundreds of thousands of refugees who do not have access to food, shelter, or hospitals. How can people think that we are doing a good job over there? The more I hear people say that this "war" isn't like Nam, the more I think, "You know what? You're right;this is worse."

Just several reasons why I'm a pacifist.

Thinking about it, this has been the first war I've ever been able to truely experience. Alright, that's an inaccurate term since I'm sitting at my computer in a central-heated dining room after a full dinner, but it's the first war I've been able to appreciate as a real thing that actually goes on in the world, and it's definitely the first I've ever been able to understand the reasons and causes and consequences.

Its called war it sucks!

But here is some facts to go by. How do you explan the finding of mass graves in Iraq much like concentraitions camps found in Germany? Yes Iraq has its own concentraition camps. Saddam murdered his people much like Hitler or in this case Stalyn. How do you explan that over 3000 American citizens were killed on our soil? Ya know we are at war and we will be at war for a really long time. Your not going to get peace over night in Iraq or anywhere for that matter. We are talking about people who have been terroised for years and years. People whome have been striped of their very own freedom and tourtured in ways you can't imagine. Why do you expect that we will establish a working economy within one year? Thats absolutely impossable. This is going to take years and years to establish. Well beyond the Bush years. We are at war and war sucks but remember why we are at war. And you better get use to this because this is war and war sucks!

We are not over there to kill them we are over there to give them hope that maybe one day their fears will be no more and that their country will be a peaceful place. But your not going to get peace overnight that is foolish.

So why don't we just simply drop what we are doing over there and come home and just let that country simply go back to the way it was with another murderous dictator? Oh yeah thats really a smart thing to do! Please spare me with the shit. I know why we are over there and the left wing is just completely being asses about it. Yes they have good intensions but its absolutly such total bull shit to me. If you ask me the real enamy is the left. You otta be ashamed of yourselves!

And I say that with a pashion in my heart thankyou very much.

I hear this one a lot paramiteabe. Yes, Hussein DID kill numerous people and gas his own people, but this was while they had U.S. Habaljah. S.H. committed his most atrocious war crimes with weapons we supplied him with while he was still favor with us. There is also doubt as to whether S.H. actually used gas against the Kurds. Go to this link: http://www.informationclearinghouse....rticle5257.htm for the full story.

In case your woundering I don't support Bush but I do support our troops that are over there. As an American I support my troops all the way and its unfortunate that we have to be at war in this day and age, but shit happens and what are you going to do about it ya know?

Someone should make a thread and call it "101 reasons to hate Bush!". Then attempt to list 101 reasons. The person who lists the 101st reason gets a free sack of doorknobs.

A free sack of doorknobs? Excellent!
Reason Number 1: He's a big pussy. He went AWOL from the National Guard, didn't show up for physicals, and still had the temerity to brag about training he didn't recieve and missions he couldn't have flown because his model of aircraft was phased out.

That was 3 reasons. You're only supposed to give 1 reason.

Actually, one reason: He's a pussy. I used the other examples to justify my claim. Wrangling to get into the National Guard, as softcare as it gets, then punking out and braggin about things you never did is the worst kind of pussyism(yay for neologisms!) that I can think of.
Reason Number 2. Suspiscious driving records. Not only does Bush have 2 D.U.I.s under his belt, he had his Tesas driving record number changed to 3, which terminates his Texas driving record. Can somebody say fishy?
P.S., I'm gonna fight for that free sack of doorknobs, dammit!

I really hate politics.. and I hate war.. but who doesn't? Still, I feel like I can't ignore this thread for how it stands right now. But at the same time I dunno what to say except that not everyone would agree with the idea that the president of our country is a "pussy". Wouldn't that make sense since he was elected as our president? Really, you can brag happily all you want when a new president gets elected and starts doing things differently, but putting down someone for doing what he thinks is right is just.. cruel, in my opinion. He's doing his damn best, and if that's not enough, then.. I dunno. I'm already confused from rambling too much.

I sorta rushed into replying to this thread without reading what everyone had to say. But now I must say that paramiteabe hit the nail that I was aiming for.

No, it's not cruel. George Bush ordering war on Iraq is cruel. Lots of innocent men and women who are far more intelligent than Bush are dead because he flapped his lips about, vibrated his vocal chords, and strategicly placed his tongue.

And no I'm not talking about sex.

I'm talking about ever annoying cyllable that eminates from Bushs' ugly laughing gear. For some reason, Bush degrades every single speech he makes into this pointless, dull drivel. He just stands there babbling, without a clue on what the **** he is talking about.

He's a freaking moron and he's running the most powerful country on earth. There's definately reason to be a little worried there I think.

If everyone hates him so much why is he still the president of America?
Oh wells, you can never be satisfied with any political party, there is always going to be something you hate.

I think the war in Iraq was justified though, even though the reason to go in was the Weapon of Mass Destruction which they havent found. But before America liberated Iraq people were getting tortured, mistreated, infear and raped under the dictatorship of Saddam. But now they at least get the chance to change that.

"Why do you have to quote others when you can quote yourself?" (Quote by me)
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God.
You see things, and you say 'why'. But i dream things that never were and i say 'why not'.
