Oddworld What kind of OW game would you like to see?

Apart from the games we have seen and played so far ... what kind of genre would you like to see Oddworld characters appearing in. Would you like to see RPG, first-person, survival-horror, sport/racing, action, strategy, etc???

I'd love to see an Oddworld RPG game most of all. Particularly because most RPG games are based on storyline and I believe this would go perfectly with the whole Oddworld Universe. There could be a very in depth storyline involving characters and you would need to develop your characters in various ways (that could be one use of spooce).

I'd also like to see a survival-horror game ... if the Faerietales idea were ever to become a reality, I believe that it would fit into this genre. This would be very good indeed ... we could see a side of Oddworld that has been hinted at, but we have not seen yet.

Any out of RPG, Action, Strategy and Survival Horror, the rest are too Party types. I would hate it if they made oddworld racing. It'd kill the atmosphere.

Although I voted for other, I would love to see an Oddworld beat em up. But just like Hobo said, it would kill the atmosphere that surrounds oddworld.
But it would be cool to see Abe take on Steef.

I think an Oddworld Survival/Horror game would be absoultely great. OWI's great at creating moods in their games and cutscenes...I think they could execute it very well.

I've never thought about the idea of an Oddworld Survival Horror game before, but now that you mention it, I'm hoping on the bandwagon. If they're going to make Westerns, they can do this, except it more than likely wouldn't draw off as many cliches (which is a niggle I've got about OW4, albeit a slight one), and have it running concordantly with the evolution of the Quintology.

I still would really like to see a simulation done. If Hand of Odd is ever made I will be quite pleased, the whole concept having exploring freedom, and to be able to choose sides is a great concept for oddworld.

Although, as mentioned a survival horror if done well would be quite good too.

I would like to see the stratagy that we see now mixed in with more of that exploreing mechanic. But Imagine playing Oddworld in 3D like Munch but the visual element the graphics of the gameplay is like the conceptual art we see made for Abe's Oddessy or Abe's Exoddus or Munch. In other words the graphics are litererally those beautiful paintings of Oddworld that you would play in but be able to explore those vistas and those beautiful Oddworld landscapes that seem to go on forever in multiple directions. But imagine playing that as a exploring mechanic and an RPG and a Stratagy all combined in one huge package. You got yourself an intresting game there. Mainly play in envirorments we saw in AO and AE but in 3D.

I would like more freedom, more exploring and more interaction. I would like to see a game that would combine many aspects of diferents games and execute it into a great game. For instance.....take a flying game for example. The whole game doesn't have to be flying, but you could have a level where the ability to fly is present. Let's say you're in some huge Vykker space station or whatever. You possess a Vykker and then take him to the ship docks and jump into a Vykker pod. I would love to be able to fly around in it and do some odd stuff!

I want an Oddworld RPG like FF!!!!!!!! The thing that annoys me with OW is there is hardly any storyline... I mean they can think of better stories than this! MO was a storyline dud....

But I think a multiplayer part would be cool! Then my sister and I could play together, that would be cool.

Multiplayer AND RPG

...Huh? The OW games are like...completely about story. The storylines are great...they show the flaws in the world from original and effective points of view. Dunno what games you're thinking of.

Hmmm, Deja Vu with Miss Odd's posts.

Like Mac said, OWI is one of the few game companies that actually pays great attention to storyline. OWI is very unique and creative with their odd, yet close to our own culture, ideas. I don't mean to gang up on anyone. I just find it hard to believe someone would think OW has no story, when that is what they're all about.

An Oddworld Game similar to Morrowind would be exceptional. You would be able to go anywhere on the island/continent in which it is set and do almost whatever you like, depending a lot on what race you choose.
If you was a mudokon you could become a shaman, if a slig, you could simply become a guard or a leutenant in an army.

I voted RPG, Strategy and Simulation.

RPG: Imagine the world of Oddworld, with you walking through it, completing lots of quests and getting experience and stuff. Yay.

Strategy: Oh joy. To command a huge army of Sligs, BigBro Sligs, Slogs, War Scrabs and Glukkon Battering Rams. Or a group of stealthy Mudokon Assassins, Shamans of the Elements, War Meetles and Blimps.

Sim: Build a farm, grow wheat, get your first Larvae and grow it into a Meetle, to plough the land for you.

Or build your first farm, and get some slaves, exploit more wildlife and flora while you are expanding your big conglomeration.

Wow... I'm full of ideas...

well, RPG is obviously winning, i guess we can expect that from HOO (hand of odd).

Though an RPG sounds terrific, i would prefer a Horror...
Ghosts and spirits on oddworld, that storyline would seem to take place around necrum, all those lost souls and spirits.

Maybe OWI might read our posts and take our ideas into consideration. It would be cool if they did.

Those concepts remind me so much of Hand of Odd. I wonder if that game will ever make it's way out of the concept and development stages.
