When does the Oddworld Movie come out?

I know the Oddworld Movie is going to be based on Abe's Exoddus yet, I have no idea whatsoever when it's gonna be out in theatres!

(BTW, do ya think the movie should have been about I different Oddworld? I don't.)

Oooh yeah... Now I have 2 comic books and atleast 200 movies to look forward too... Couldn't they have based the movie on anything else than AE? I mean, something that will never be a game.

It was released about a year or two ago it was just susposed to be a short film though, but it did almost win an award. I heard about it in a Playstation Magazine.

It only seems to be available on Amazon.com. I tried to find it on Amazon.co.uk, but no luck.

Oh well, there's always Ebay.

I found a differn't place that said this:
"Abe's Exoddus + lens flare’ 99 European Premieres / approx 75 mins
The stunning and much heralded animated film of the computer game, Abe's Exoddus, from Oddworld Inhabitants, is featured here alongside another collection of the most stimulating FMV [full motion video] and pre-rendered movie sequences from computer gaming. Including unreleased and 'lost' footage. Including Final Fantasy VIII, G-Police 2 and Parasite Eve."

You all seem to have a different POV. You'd think they'd at least put a preview for it in a movie theatre or something. Plus, at Oddworld.com, Alf (you should know who that is) says it's still in the making. Personally, I take his word because he actually works at Oddworld Inhabitants.

Seems like there is a bit of confusion here. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I do own the video/movie in question, so I guess I'm the best to answer it (second to Alf and anyone from OWI of course).

The movie called "Abe's Exoddus: The Movie" is a short film which runs for about 15 mintues. This is not a full length feature film which is apparently supposed to be made sometime in the future (5 years at least I read in a interview w/ Lorne Lanning).

The short movie was only shown at San Luis Obispo and a cinema in LA (I think) in order to qualify for a Academy Award Nomination (which they unfortunately did not win). It was the first Video Game ever to be nominated for an Oscar. It is made up from the FMV sequences from Abe's Exoddus, along with some additional footage showing a Mudokon newsreader reporting the events for FUD news (some may have seen this image on Oddworld.com).

Later the movie was released as a promotional video, this is what I have a copy of (see below).

I got it from eBay about a year ago, but haven't seen another one there since.

I think the video ChrisCo refers to is just a gaming promotional video.

Abe Babe...

*happiness*
Cool, I had thought they just released it somewhere else and never let the public see it (that'd suck). So, I'd rather wait five years than know I missed the movie I've already been for for a whole year!
