The Japanese version of Abe's Oddysee is called Abe-a-go-go. The Japanese version of Abe's Exoddus is called Abe 99.

Go here for a couple of screenshots (all I could find).

I once saw Abe 99 on eBay... there were two copies, but one guy won both of the auctions, so still I search too for the elusive Japanese copy of Oddworld. Not that I can understand Japanese, but it would be cool to have a differently named version of Oddworld.

I wonder if Munch is going to be released in Japan... and if so, if the name will be changed.

Abe Babe...

Thanks for the screenshots Abe Babe!!

I wonder why the bottle on the Abe '99 cover isn't like the SoulStorm Brew one on the AE cover. Maybe its a different drink altogether?

I think you can order them, but it's hard to do, my friend ordered from Japan, a Dragon ball z Game. He said it was hard to get and was expensive. unless you go to a japanese store, Maybe, just maybe they'll have an oddworld game in japanese.

Well Munch's Oddysee IS going to be relised in Japan. And by the looks of things the name seems the same. It took a bit of work but I did find this on the Xbox Japan site.
http://xbox.jp/software/f_10.html

If anyone can read Japanese, Please tell us what it says, but I'm guessing that it's just like it was for us before the X-box was relised

Here's a really bad altavista translation of the Japanese Xbox Oddworld site:

The world of the odd world was expressed with the 3-D. The prayer while one wind which is rich in change the world of the living thing which changes, unfolding unique action does the queer character and traveling. The prayer, the partner of the moth bit family which is the Messiah, thornback Bu or the water ± animal of ƒ}ƒhƒJƒ“ family, appears in traveling in the ƒ}ƒ“ƒ` and simultaneous. It repeats super power and power rise, freely using the vehicle and the like which evolved, it recovers the mother where thornback Bu is kidnapped. With the opposition story in the team, each one of the ƒ}ƒ“ƒ` and thornback Bu ventures power the odd world together. The respective unique character two is as follows. Thornback Bu thornback Bu climbs the wall, jumps and advances to the new area, but running from the enemy, it escapes. Friend collapsing, the stripe uninformed, spell is advocated and soul of the enemy is worked, safety of route is guaranteed with the gun of the enemy. As for the ƒ}ƒ“ƒ` ƒ}ƒ“ƒ`, it can turn to keep swimming to the area where the odd world is new. On the land, riding 4 wheel car, you act. Using the sonar plug of ƒ}ƒ“ƒ` regular use, you burn the crane in the ƒXƒƒbƒO which blocks the route two, drop the ƒX log in the cage. When power rise, liking to move to the weapon and the vehicle other place instantaneously and when liking to jump over the wall, using odd world consumer power rise such as ƒGƒNƒXƒvƒŒƒbƒ\, and climb it redoubles the ability of the ƒ}ƒ“ƒ` and thornback Bu, it is possible to move quickly. When from liking to control directly, you obtain higher-level weapon, the high performance steal the car and confront difficultly. The trees and the withering wood et cetera where the river, the mountain range and the flower where the 3-D of the odd world flows with the evolution Œ X outbloom this being something which can actualize with just the Xbox it does the image which is superior. Using the interchange GameSpeak of the many change people, however the resident of the Oddworld (it is lovely heavily from the chief ƒXƒ*ƒbƒO of equipment, when *Ö) with it interchanges to the super ƒtƒ@ƒYƒ‹ƒY, you accomplish skillful task, can push down the enemy. It is and the leprosy seems the intelligent camera where the odd world which loads the game experience automatic focusing system and the navigation system which are not is new to play of the game the new wind brings. Furthermore, as for the simple Quiksaves of operation and the life which does not have restriction, the opportunity where it can confront to any circumstance the prayer is offered many.

Yup, it's really bad, but you can tell they only said really good things.
